  1. Supercharged, We sell the SKF (SFK?) bearings too. IMO - the best bearings are made by a German company called FAG. Just a note - I used to suffer regular bearing failure on the NSR wheel. Bearing kits used to last approx 3k. Couldn't work out what was wrong, so I replaced the stub axle - no more problems !
  2. dinkus, There is no torque value for the rear hub nut - the nut should be less than finger tight. When fitting the rear bearing kits, it's essential that grease is "massaged" into the bearing first - with your fingers. Dry or semi-dry bearings will not last very long at all.
  3. MikeVR6, Another oddity into the equation - G60's with ABS have that unit, in your picture, fitted. G60's without ABS don't !! AFAIK - both types of G60 have the same fan & fan motor. Both types also have ambient air temp sensors fitted - the cooling fan on both cars can run-on for some time after use.
  4. Loose rear wheel bearings don't drone - tight ones do & so do knackered ones. PM sent.
  5. I'd give it a good spray with a hose pipe - spray it into the outlet orifice
  6. If the dash light never comes on - maybe the bulb has blown ?
  7. Nothing to do with the stalk switch - already tested on another car. Tested indicator relay & wiper relay on another car too - they work okay. Indicators now don't work with the alarm either !! Gonna get my multimeter out tonight & see what the problem is. I suspect it's either a faulty fusebox or part of the circuit is earthing somewhere. Quick question though - the indicator relay (position 6 on the fuse/relay block) is called an "emergency indicator relay" & only has 3 terminals. This is far fewer than I expected. Does the wiper relay or any of the other relays play a part in the operation of the indicators ?
  8. Cheers Steve, I'll try that later this evening. Only doubt I have is that the indicators work perfectly well when arming/disarming the alarm. If there was an earthing problem with one of the indicators, I would expect the fault to be present each time the indicators are used. When I changed the indicator stalk, everything was okay for a few weeks. I'm gonna have a look at the wiring between the stalk switch & fusebox. May also remove the whole fusebox & have a look at that.
  9. My indicators don't work properly :( Replaced indicator stalk, in an effort to cure the problem. Indicators worked okay for a few weeks but then the same problem re-occurred. Blew a fuse the other day. Replaced the fuse & all was okay for a day or two. Changed the relay today - just blew a fuse again ! All of the bulbs are okay. Indicators flash as usual when arming/disarming the alarm. Parking sidelights work okay. It appears that the problem could be with the nearside indicators. Problem starts with that side not working properly & quickly spreads to the offside, then the fuse burns out. Electrical problems aren't one of my strong points - any ideas before I get my multimeter out ??
  10. Remove your front wheels & see if there's any wires attached to your brakepads

    abs?

ABS light coming on for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on is normal. The car checks the ABS system (light on) & if the system checks out okay, the light goes out again. If the ABS light stays on - there's a problem of some kind.
  12. My G60 has a spare socket in the wiring harness, next to the front ABS sensor on one side of the car. Any ideas what that's for ?
  13. paulim, You have brakepad sensors ? My G60 doesn't & neither of the VR's that I've looked at do either. Maybe they were fitted after a certain model year.
  14. The top spring plate has an angled "bearing seat". May be worth checking that the spring plate is in the correct position & that the bearing is still seated properly. The VR top mounts have very little or no flexibility at all. If seated correctly, they should both be the same height.
  15. Errrrr - yuk. :pukeright: .
  16. 110k on a charger that's never been rebuilt is a LOT of miles. Sounds like your charger could well be the culprit. Hopefully, it won't be completely knackered. Have it checked/rebuilt asap.
  17. Quite correct - also known as the "ambient air temp" sensor.
  18. If you've used standard top mounts, one may be weaker than the other. Were both of them the same make ? Where did you buy them ? My advice would be to upgrade to VR6 top mounts, top spring plates & top mount bearings. Far better design & much more solid.
  19. So long as the width is more or less right - should be able to "make it fit"
  20. Riley, Looks like your tight spot could be the inner of the scrolls in your picture - black mark around the upper edge, close to the seal ?
  21. The cone filter or the metal pipe from the filter to the charger ? I have a cone filter. Blue_Joe has both a cone filter & metal pipe. Main benefit is the extra engine noise when you boot the throttle. Must also fit a heat shield, otherwise the filter just sucks warm air in from the engine bay.
  22. Gearbox off, unfortunately.
  23. Get the "flow" rate checked too
