One of my mates used to have an old 911 turbo - 1986 from memory. Spent loads on it but worth every penny for the driving thrill .. 8)

I used my socket set & one of the strut nut tools that we sell, when I did mine.
-
We sell Osram Silverstars too ..

One of my mates has a 1.8-16v too. Had his head completely rebuilt, changed the b/e bearings & the thing still knocks .. Next thing is to take the pistons out of the engine, replace piston rings & check little end bearings. May as well do the main bearings too, as his engine will be in bits.

thought MJ had your trim Maybe he's got it back now ..

As Jim says - I wouldn't ever buy anything from Jabba, after previous experiences with them. AFAIK - the heads are about £750 (exchange) from them. I bought the head a little cheaper from a guy who was selling it on ebay. Head was unused & still in the box that Jabba supplied it in. Daz (G-Werks) said the head works & flows very well, in conjunction with the Piper cam & adjustable pulley. After driving the car, I'd be inclined to agree with him .. :D -

Drove the car back from G-Werks on Friday night.. :D It's very quick now, with still more to come when I fit the front mount cooler. All the hard work was time well spent - the car absoloutely flies now, even with the std cooler still fitted. I'm gonna have to get it to a rolling road before I fit the front mount cooler & then again afterwards. See what a difference it makes. Top marks to Daz & Liam for getting the engine set-up & mapped... -
Welcome to the forum.. 8) Things to do ASAP - 1. full service, including fuel filter 2. check when cambelt was done - replace if necessary 3. change plug leads, dizzy cap & rotor arm 4. check & clean all engine earth points
-
I think they look absolutely awful - I'd sooner have stone chips than one of those
-
What model have you got ?
-
This may sound stupid but if your boyfriend attempts to start the car with the clutch fully depressed to the floor - does the engine spin more freely ?
-
Nice looking car - wheels look great
-
AFAIK - G60 has 3 wires / VR has 4 (could be wrong though)
-
Could be - get a relay & see if your problems stop. They're cheap enough, even if it's only to eliminate it from your possible causes

I'm not saying that the quality is bad - I'm just saying that Brabus are not official Mercedes tuners.
-
There's no info on the Merc website because Brabus has no connection with Mercedes & isn't an official Mercedes conversion. You will need to see how you stand so far as any warranties are concerned which Mercedes may decide not to honour. Brabus get away with the Smart car because although Smart is marketed by Mercedes, it is neither designed or built by them. This is the reason that not all Mercedes dealers will either sell or service Smart cars. The only official Mercedes tuning company is AMG. AMG are a fully owned subsiduary of Mercedes & have been for around 15 years now. Contrary to popular beleif - AMG do not build whole cars, they hand build engines & certain other components which are then assembled on a Mercedes production line.

No worries J - glad you got it sorted m8 .. 8)

Yup - I sort of knackered it when I fitted it - thought it'd be okay .. doh It's the burned out end that was the problem - the insulation was cut to view the crapness of the core New set of Beru leads being fitted tomorrow -
Sump gasket change shouldn't affect crank seals. More likely the oil filter seal ring is either missing, damaged or the oil/water heat exchanger is now leaking.
