That's the problem, they didn't just put it back together. They ported it to R1 spec & charged me for the privelidge. Porting knackered chargers isn't a good way to build a reputation ..
-
I wouldn't go back to Jabba - even if they paid me for the privelidge of servicing my charger. My problems with them are well documented on this forum. I'm currently running a JMR stage 5 rebuilt charger & it boosts very very well. I would fully reccommend either JMR or G-Werks for charger rebuilds.

I quite like the car but hate the wheels - I'd need shares in Colgate to keep the wheels clean .. I bought mine because I like the original styling. IMO the key to styling a car is to enhance it's good points & make it look a little more sporty, to give it that "presence". No point buying a car & then altering it beyond recognition - like that stupid looking max-power thing with the Golf headlights.

Ideas that spring (no pun intended....) to mind - 1. weak or badly fitted road spring 2. broken top mount - VR ones are strong but not invincible 3. mismatched or worn shocker 4. bent wishbone or worn wishbone bushes Worst case scenario is a twisted chassis or bad repair from previous accident (if it's had any)

Approx 1400 UK spec G60's still registered with the DVLA ..

IMO - trying to repair a 13 year old brake caliper is a complete waste of time. Parts of the caliper which aren't in the repair kit or available seperately are likely to also be worn. You may be able to make it work for a short period of time but if you're keeping the car - fit a new caliper. Repair kits are great for 5 or 6 year old calipers but not so good for 13 year old ones.

Toad, Sounds like your tensioner is fairly worn - always replace when doing the cambelt. If the tensioner seizes - your cambelt will snap & wipeout some of your valves.
-
I can get these for anybody who wants them - I'll get a price from the manufacturers on Tuesday.
-
How old's your car - we stock the early type - 11041 VALVE COVER GASKET CO VR6 8/91 >10/94 (>Eng. AAA 146000) £7.60 + vat

Certainly won't help m8 - 6 of the standard VW jobbies would be a good start.

Almost ready for MOT now - fitted new rear brake calipers, discs, wheel bearings, pads & Goodrige braided brake hoses today. Just need to seal a leaking exhaust joint tomorrow & temporarily stick a "standard" set of back lights on, then it's off for MOT next week .. -
Nice one Phil - will look "the dogs" when it's lowered .. 0X

I ordered the cooler direct from Behr - they make the OE coolers for various manufacturers, including Mercedes. I received a large'ish discount from the retail price - one of the 'perks' of my job....

Oil feed arrived the morning after you sent it Daz - cheers m8. I'm gona leave fitting the front mount cooler until my finances have recovered slightly. MOT, tax & insurance to sort out this month & LeMans in June will keep me short'ish for the next couple of months.. :? Car sounds a lot more meaningful than it used to. Magnex exhausts are usually known for their fairly quiet running - not this one, sounds throaty as hell now... -
Sounds good Steve - welcome to the forum..

Fired it up yesterday - bit lumpy idle but runs ok. Set the timing up today - still a bit lumpy on idle but revs ok. Urgently needs a remap now. Just need to get it MOT'd & then down to G-Werks to get it all setup. -
Haven't fitted it yet - just trying to get hold of some pipework. Link to the picture's is is my sig Cooler that I'm fitting has 60mm inlet & outlet. The core is 640mm wide & with the header tanks, it'll fit comfortably between the chassis legs.
-
Yup - definite absence of pictures.........
-
Not quite - the VR has slightly different shockers too - slightly longer shocker body. Springs intended for 4 cyl Corrados will be too weak for the weight of the 6cyl engine. You need to order springs & shocks specifically designed for the VR.
-
Would the 50mm inlet & outlet on this custom cooler not cause a flow problem ? The G60 alloy charger outlets are 76mm diameter & the G60 throttle body is approx 62mm diameter.
-
Corrected timing, now lost 65% power and runs rough ideas?

Make sure you get the DX crankbolt washer too ! -
Sounds like your car is about the same height as mine.. Shocks & springs are interchangeable. VR uses it's own type of top mount with seperate bearings.

Welcome to the forum m8.. You have any photos of the car - maybe we could suggest how far it's lowered. 17" wheels on a standard Corrado will give a gap of approx 3 inches between the wheelarch & the top of the tyre.
