  1. I think that's the best way. Mine reads completely empty while there's still approx 5 litres left.
  2. I have the big advantage of having a spare "shed" to drive around in over the winter months.
  3. I'd get someone else to have a look at it - release bearing should outlast the life of the clutch lining. My G60's now 13 years old & still on the original clutch with no noises at all from the release bearing...
  4. You won't need a windback tool, if your fitting new calipers. We keep the Pagid pads in stock but I have no idea what the part number is - I'll find out when I get to work tomorrow.
  5. Nick_Micouris, I'm surprised that the bearing has gone already - new one should have been fitted when the clutch was done.
  6. Be sure to replace both rear calipers & not just the one that appears to be sticking. When 1 rear caliper goes, the other usually follows very closely behind. I can have a look for you at the next MK meet, if it still pulls to one side.
  7. Rustynuts, There's a few tips here - http://www.snstuning.com - look in the DIY section.
  8. They sell special "tinting spray" in a range of colours.
  9. Theory - The 6.8 that you register may indicate that or your timing is too far advanced & the "knock sensors" are telling the ECU to retard the timing, hence the fluctuating figures ?
  10. G60 CV joints :- LH Inner – 43937K - £34.50 RH Inner – 43938K - £34.50 Both Outer – 43892 - £34.00 each All + vat We stock 2 different qualities of these joints - only use the exact part numbers above
  11. Nice one - didn't take too long to get another. Bad running could be something as simple as a faulty blue temp sender of damaged vacuum hose.
  12. & keeping warm/dry when it's raining..
  13. Not usually with VW - they test cars with 1/2 tank of fuel & ballast in the passengers seat equal to the weight of a passenger..
  14. Be sure to solder the joints & not crimp them. Easier to unplug the sensor wiring from the engine mount, remove the sensor from the CAT & do the soldering on a bench (or in your kitchen like I usually do! ) Here's a piccy of where the wiring plugs into the car - hopefully your wiring won't look quite as dodgy as mine currently does.

    My cars problems

http://www.dubhaus.co.uk is the website - not working at the moment though.. :?
  16. If there should be a woodfuff key - there will be a slot for it in both the pulley & alternator shaft. No slots - no woodruff key.
  17. james_88, Garage should be able to check for exhaust gasses in the cooling system quite easily - did they check this ?
  18. Most alloy wheel refinishers will be able to do this for you.
  19. We don't list them for G60's, although we do stock them. I'll post our part numbers for all 4 joints on here tomorrow night.
  20. Fitted GSF ones to my G60 10k ago with no problems.
  21. The most central part of each hub sticks out slightly - kind of like a wheel centraliser. Most of the thinner wheel spacers don't have this & this causes the wheels to be centralised by the studs only. Hub-centric spacers have a wheel centraliser (similar to the one on the hub) built into them.
