But won't you lose the heating element and electricness?

I think you might want to look at taking it to someone who can more accurately diagnose what the source of the problem is. I assume you

Well from the pics you've posted she looks awesome. The Borbets look perfect.

What the hell is an inox finish? What advantages does it give over stainless (which i always thought didn't rust?) And how much 'better' are the KWs compared to the weitecs? (bit of stupid question i know, please be kind!) I was gonna buy the latter but my budget could now stretch to the former. This thread is way too long for me to glean any information from it. The 3 second memory strikes again. :? You're welcome to come and try out mine - I'm only in Kent

Clutch failure(?) - FIXED, was hydraulic AND friction!

Sounds very much like clutch slave and the new ones are resin. Sounds like your 1st point of call. -

And they made such a play of showing off their units after apparently being immersed in salt water etc at Inters a few years ago. I

A Mocal is a good precaution on any VR, especially in the summer months. Not expensive either in the grand scheme of things. (About 3 tanks of fuel at today's prices! )

As I said before the KW 1’s are spot on. Definitely a road coilover which is more comfort orientated than rock hard performance. The lower C of G and increased in hardness over an OE set up is apparent though. Damping is fine too. If there was any adjustment I’d probably make it worse. I figure the KW boffins know more than me about valving a damper unit! All my cars since I was about 21 have been lowered in a variety of ways – springs only (dire), Koni dampers and springs (good), cheap coilovers (bad) and now decent coilovers (good).

These are the daddies: http://www.nology.com/hot.html They lost their UK distributor a few years ago, not sure what the status is now though.

Just had a look at this wiki and ordered all the relevant bits :D I get mega hayfever in June and July plus when you put the vents on demist it throws loads of crud up onto the dash.

The previous owner of my VR had a Powerflow fitted and later a Milltek decat. It's really boomy though and is blowing already. It also bangs on the rear beam occasionally and the back box is showing early signs of tin worm. Hopefully putting the cat back on will quieten it down a bit.

Hey hey. The water temp on mine sitting in traffic after a long run went up to the mark between 110 and the thicker "mid" line which it usually sits at when it's on the move. I'd guess this is about 100 degrees although no warning lights came on. Is this normal or should I invest in a low temp thermostat? Cheers 8)

Another trick is to fill a breakfast bowl full of salt and leave it in the cabin somewhere. It absorbs moisture and stops condensation - I've done this and it works a treat.

Just come back from 2 days riding White's Level, Penydd and The Wall in Afan Valley. Awesome 8) I went in my mate's Excort van but I'd always try to get my bike in the body of the car. My old Orange Patriot got into the body of my Ford Puma so the 'Rado should be way big enough to accomodate my gorgeous lovely brand new Santa Crus Heckler :notworthy: :luvlove:

Ditto - almost glad someone else is suffering ;) The original VAG clutch slave cylinder is cast and machined steel which contaminates the fluid. The VAG replacement part is now made from plastic resin - progress eh? I'll post up the result. The car's going in on 20th March

Welcome :) Now set aside all of your disposable income

Just chatted to Andy at Trim Wizard about a problem with the alarm which was fitted my Corrado back in June 2006 by a previous owner. He was incredibly helpful and keen to assist, even offering to come out and look at the car if the problem persists even though I

I had Highsports on my G60 and compared with the KW Variant 1's on my new VR, the KW's are leagues ahead. The Highsports bounced a lot on the motorway and over gentle undulations. The KW's are a perfect road coilover IMO - well sealed against the elements and a very good ride with excellent damping. You really get what you pay for with suspension and it makes such a huge difference to the feel of the car.

I rebuilt the front suspension on my old C with GSF sourced wishboes, ball joint etc and they were absolutely fine.
