driving spiritedly home from work today peeled of a main rd into a slip road as i always do only this time there a police omega right in my path attending a stricken rover not good as i was doing 80 manged to scrub off enough to get below the speed limit and narrowly missed the police car and rover thinking id got away with it but no the plod got me to pull over and read me the riot act about what if there were kids playing on the main rd wanted to say well they would have been squashed a long time before i got here! but said no your right orificer i was a very silly boy he had a bit of a grin on his face after the riot act as i really did stih myself and he knew it! he checked the car took the reg details etc didn't notice the german plates phew! said be careful and let me on my way. but what an escape i really though was going to hit the plods car at 60 that would have hurt bad scary thing is ive gone down there much much faster wont be doing that again!

right got the profile four in sounding lovely im just trying to get it set up just right should i have the bass turned doen to 0 on the nakamichi headunit and adjust the gain on the amp as i dont seem to be getting a good range of bass from my infinity components i know there not as good as focals but hey i was restricted financially at the time! the amp came with a load of simms little coloured things with lots of legs they are obviously all different for different applications but nowhere in the manual does it tell me what the different colours do. lastly what size hole do the focals require as i had my audioscapes cut for 140mm for the infinities but now maybe thinking i might have to go for the focals having said that (thinks out loud  ) James at audioscape said the infinities were actually a very good speaker any input into my audio situation would be greatfully received! :D

billinjah replied to coolrado's topic in Drivetrain
i some times get a bit of that coupled with my pulling to one side when on the power problem which is getting really annoying now is there any way of checking the cv joints as its gonna be a £200 job to replace them on the up side cv's are the easiest thing to replace in the drivetrain and suspension! :D -
try giving the bearing area a good squirt with a teflon based lube like gt 85 when it running might quiten it donn a bit if you spray it for ages it will work its way in.

fitted a boost return removal kit and ive noticed in the cold snowy weather there is a bit of mayo in the pipe from the cam cover there is no pipe connected to this by the way it just vents straight to air naughty i know but im waiting for a catch tank from g-werks. anything to worry about? it is literally a very tiny amount and there is none under the cam cover or in warmer weather car uses no water at all put my mind at rest guys!

Outer cv joint replacement - How to! with pics
billinjah replied to Banana Man's topic in Engine Bay
also you dont have to touch the ball joint as you can undo the driveshaft at the gearbox and it will come out with the wheels turned all the way left or right. saves a geometry check and is quicker imho. -
