  1. Dont claim, buy the shell thats for sale somwhere on the forum and rebuild, providing your engine survived.
  2. Cool, my cams should be here anyday, once there fitted and ive had it remapped ill get a comparison up. I didnt realise the torque peak would still remain so low with 268's, looks good.
  3. Shilakadaddy, new pics of phat's engine in his gallery: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 662#192662
  4. Your cars already there, just there were no pics of the r32 engine.
  5. You need to get these pics in the best engine mod poll thread, I know where my votes going now. :thumbleft:
  6. ray_vr6, looks like a good finish, how much to do a full valet on a vr? ps, above says 10% discount for forum, e-group says 15%, which ones the mistype?
  7. Hey man ive got this issue too, how did you go about fixing it?? Clean it all up and reseal with silicone. Good idea to sort it soon as possible as when the water gets in there it heads straight for the abs control unit if fitted.
  8. Its not been good. Strangely my vr has never had a seal on the passenger door since I bought the car and its never leaked. Ive still got the membranes and sealant sitting in my room that were bought in February. Just checked my receipt and I was £22 for the 2 membranes and sealant.
  9. Ok, ive got my valve springs here, just waiting on the cams. Ive just looked in the schrick catalogue and it says for the cams use schrick valve springs with 1mm washer. Question is, where does the washer go, just drop it over the valve under the spring?
  10. If its not a specific corrado kit avoid, spring and damper rates will be all wrong.
  11. 1K Adhesive sealant: for sealing rubber-mounted vehicle windows and for fitting and sealing the door damp-seal sheeting. Durably elastic, black. Part number: D 469 101 A3 Its a cartridge to go into a silicone gun and should be more than enough for 2 doors, and I think it was about £12.
  12. I went for the Eibach arb's as there slightly thinner than the neuspeeds and perfect for road use. Also maintanence free. I still went for the extra camber though, -1.7degrees at the front. I reckon for the camber anywhere between 1.2 and 1.7 depending on whats more important to you, tyre wear or handling.
  13. Late mk3 vr/gti/16v disks are the ones you need. I thought you were going for the 312's?
  14. The foams about a fiver a roll, dunno the part number but its a generic part that you cut to fit so they should find it easy enough. VW will also be kind enough to sell you the proper sealant to stick it if u want, its black sticky stuff that doesnt set, so you can remove the membrane and stick it back on without having to use it again. Think thats about £8 a cartridge.
  15. VR6 pumps are practically the same as the G60s, though the sender for the fuel gauge may be different. If bigpants baby includes the sender then they will drop straight in.
  16. arb's dont affect the ride quality. Mine is currently more comfortable than my standard suspensioned 16v was on all but the worst of roads.
  17. Id go with kevs recommendations if the car was a daily driver. As you say its for sprints/hillclimbs so I would go for a more agressive setup. Nuespeed 28mm rear bar on hardest setting, front 22 or 25mm bar and about -1.5degrees on the front camber should do it.
  18. I think it shouldnt get too complex, standard, slightly modified and heavily modified would all do as categories.
  19. id pay the bit extra and get this one: http://www.b-hague.co.uk/camera_suction ... mounts.htm
  20. That nut in your pic is the threaded bush, it should be fitted directly above the bearing.
  21. You can also corner weight with coilovers, the handling advantage from that makes the extra £150ish worth it for me.
  22. Id probably go to stealth then, im pretty sure APR is similar to revo in that it can be done through the diagnostic socket with no extra hardware involved. Theres also some decent security features that can be added like needing to put in a code via the cruise control stalk to start the car and low boost settings for when its in garages an stuff like that.
  23. From what ive read Revo is optimised to give the most midrange possible, but because of this the turbo heats up to quickly which is why it lacks at the top end. No good for g60's, but Jabba are supposed to be excellent at chipping all 1.8t's, as well as anywhere that does apr remaps. (Awesome gti, Star P)
  24. If you do want to go for the springs the guy on the following link is always selling them, cheapest I could find at about £110: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 7937195064
