The 2.0 16v can be chipped as it has an ecu, for the 1.8 I think your only option is a k-star. http://www.milfordmicros.co.uk/home/default.asp

Anyone know how to remove the door panel on a 16v 1.8?

On the later interiors theres also a screw hidden behind the speaker grill, not sure about early interiors. -

The top of the handle comes off and theres 2 big srews underneath, I think its best to prise it off starting at the bottom but its been a while since I had it off so not too sure. -
The sunroof control panel was actually updated at some point, both my C's have late interior but the switch on the vr6 is a lot better than the 16v one.

me32dh, nice one, I think thats the fastest standard vr6 times ive seen.

Ive got an older clifford alarm and the main button doesnt do anything when the engines running. If you hold it down for 3 seconds or something though it acts as a panic button setting the alarm off and locking the doors.

2 for me :)

I'm in Clydebank, over in Cambuslang occasionaly though as I have a friend that lives in Wesburn. Ive never had uprated brakes before, the vr6 will be my first car with them but the pagids sound good. Are you planning on going to Biggar for the vw festival, see here.

Sounds expensive, Star performance quoted me £162 for Pagid grooved disks and fast road pads for a vr6 and that was fitted. I would imagine for a g60 it would be the same or cheaper and ive only heard good things about this combination. Where abouts in Glasgow are u Grim, theres a black g60 I sometimes see parked near Machargs on Castlebank street, is this yours?

http://www.eurocarparts.co.uk lists it at under a tenner

Hows this, I didnt think it looked right so never bothered with the back wheel.
-
Have you checked the vibration dampener on the driveshaft? Cant remember what one its on but its a donut shaped thing that should be stuck in place, if its loose it can cause juddering under braking.
-
Got a pic photoshopped with a debadged grill and I borrowed your wheels Brian, hope u dont mind

Digifant 2 sounds like a stripped down, cheaper version of 1 to me. Digifant I and Digifant II Digifant I -- The Digifant I system is found in the Vanagon, the Corrado G-60 and all 1991 and 1992 California-specification Golfs and Jettas. Digifant I uses adaptive control and has an On Board Diagnosis (OBD) component which can store fault codes. See the Bentley manual for how to read fault codes from Digifant I. Digifant II -- Found on later 1987 Golfs and Jettas. Found on all Canadian and US (except California) Golfs and Jettas from 1988 to 1992. The Digifant II computer does not use adaptive control and does not store fault codes.

On mine the metal plate just seems to sit on the inside of the plastic surround, ive wondered what its for as well.
-
You need a cat from K plate onwards, Aug '92. Not sure about roadside emmisions tests but it will be an mot failure without.
-
Mine has 2 screws holding it to the grill and i think 2 above each headlight, I will double check next time I see my vr.

Did you manage to sort this Tom?
-
ok, notice of intended prosecution, got it. If you dont sign is it not something like preventing the course of justice?

My minds gone blank here, whats an NIP.
