  1. LOL How about hiring a boxing ring and some of those enormous inflatable sumo suits to resolve 'forum differnces' Baggsy taking on A20 LEE LOL
  2. err well you see what they are like at 1501rpm it almost does. I am not talking about being pinned to the seat, I am talking about having no acceleration what-so-ever. Have you driven one before? you should try it, its not good down there. and whats the other options, approach a junction in 1st gear? do you know how harsh that is? and on an engine that redlines somewhere between 4.5 and 5000rpm? doesnt make for smooth relaxed progress I can tell ya. I only speak from experience, I wouldnt comment otherwise. The figures do sound impressive on paper, its just he way the power is delivered that is a pain.
  3. haway - I dont buy into that at all, yes they have an enormous shove of power low down, but they have diddly squat below 1500rpm. when I first got mine I nearly wiped myself out on a number of occasions coasting up to junctions in second then toe-ing it and expecting it to take off only to find nothing happens for at least 3 seconds.... It happens, and nobody seems to mention it. and my car is not broken cos we have fleet of 20 of the barstads and everyone in the company has the same complaint.
  4. do you want to sit down now coxy...  ok then lol - I am turning into a proper whinging tw@t now arent I
  5. seems a bit strange that a charger can rob power yet its exact purpose is to increase the same bloody thing! the only loss you really get is in general fuel consumption. Anyone know what losses are involved for the vortech v1?
  6. oops a bit of french sneaked in there
  7. I am seriously with Kev on this one. its horrible to think that people have actually done this to a corrado. If you are thinking of sticking a diesel in a corrado then my advice would be this - drive a tdi motor around for a couple of months then think about what your were going to do. they are awful - no throttle response to speak of, they sound crap, and they dont engage you at all. no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no non no no no
  8. wasnt horrocks' problem something to do with his brake discs not sitting right? Anyways if you are really struggling I have another mk4 abs/esp unit that you can have.
  9. also people use these forums mainly when something goes wrong - so you tend to see the worst side of corrado ownership. Not as many people post messages saying that everything is working fine :D
  10. Ben - 2 corrados! I dont think I can take the shear opulence! would be very cool though :D
  11. well I will say it again - pap. whats it supposed to be? a fashion accessory? well its certainly not meant to be a foccing car thats for sure. and if it is a fashion accessory its not a very good one either. I tend to think people can totally lose sight of what they are doing (and lose touch with reality in general) and dissapear up there own @rses. Always remember one thing - its a car not a foccing hand bag
  12. lovely - I had seen a set of TT seats on ebay (wasnt thinking of buying them mind - just browsing (just incase our lass is watch ) ) and looking at them out of the car they looked, well, sort of too big and not very sporty. Seeing them inside a corrado makes a lot of difference - I love them, nice and chunky. well impressed.

    Grin Factor

that handled aweful on the top gear test track - it understeered all over teh place - I suppose that was on its limits though, and I suppose understeer is safe
  15. wasnt phats problem something to do with his calipers though?
  16. in the words of BA Barracus "Crazy Fooo"!!
  17. well I ran my 20vT for over a year doing 250miles per week so its no great problem, just when its really cold nip out and fire it up 5 minutes earlier
  18. depending on your job and other car access situation, I would possibly go for a westfield seight, then on the run to work I would just wear my crash hat and bike weather gear. sort of like a bike with extras for work.
  19. it ran ok to a point - it was really quick but it was a little uncivilised as far as town manners goes and it had no warm up provision (despite it being in the mapping) I wouldnt have anything but a standard management now.
  20. yep ben just pull the fuel pump relay should do the job
  21. ben with my old dta 20v golf it would flood sometimes, so what I used to do was plug in the laptop and run through this procedure that fires the spark plugs without injecting fuel. it would burn off the fuel in teh chamber then it would fire straight away. A total pain in the ass to do - but it worked everytime
  22. Is that why you were asking my about pink cows then Ben? lol  Make sure you have the main earth strap for you ecu connected up - that baffled the shyte of out me for a couple of days, and makes everything as dead as a dodo
