MOT booking and driving the car - is there a limit?
Walesy replied to coullstar's topic in General Car Chat
Not to mention the possibility of an accident occurring and someone being injured or worse, I don't think there's a copper or court in the country that would consider a 360 mile trip for an MOT acceptable. -
You wont need to clay new paint mate, the idea of clay barring is to remove the schitt that builds up over the years, so fresh paint wont have any :D

VR6 running problems- water leak, overfuelling, not starting
Walesy replied to hodaz's topic in Engine Bay
Could the over-fuelling be down to the low temp stat and switch? Personally i'd remove them and replace them with OE parts ASAP regardless -
Thing is with the strollers though, is they're fine for an older kid but you can't use them with tiny babies (and for the first 6 months or so?) EDIT - and my experience with the travel system thing is the exact opposite, but I spose that's how it goes, all kids are different

Yeah, gotta agree with both of the above, I went and tried countless seats/buggies in the rado and had to accept that rados just aren't suitable for babies! It can be done but not comfortably! :( If you're adamant that you're going to use the rado as a family car, then you need to go to a Mothercare (or whatever) and find a buggy that you will be able to cram into the boot by trying them all, but obviously you need to bare in mind that if you want to take much else as well as the buggy, you might find that it's impossible to get ANYTHING other than the buggy in :( The car seat/buggy systems are fantastic though, I have a cradle that sits in the car perminantly which the car seat just clips in/out of, so if my boys asleep in the car seat we can just lift it out in seconds, it worth it's weight in gold to not have to piss around in those situations! Is your rado going to be the primary car for junior? or just for now and then occasions?

Not just the roads, but the driving in Romania is insane! People seem to be on a death wish, some of the over-taking i've seen out there was unbelievable!

Good ole' G60 owner paranoia

Ah fair enough, I expect the fact that its on its arse helps the look tbh! I think if you're going to run 15's you need to be really low to carry it off looks wise.

Im pretty sure the ones in the pic I posted are 15's mate?
-
It might sound obvious mate, but have you rung G-Werks and asked them/complained? A freshly rebuilt charger is worth a fair few quid so I can understand the panic.

 Lockage time, this threads run it's course, it's a shame some people can't discuss things without turning argumentative.

Yeah, that's certainly part of it. I'm not into revving the balls out of cars and the valver is piss poor to drive unless you give it beans everywhere you go. I like having low down torque, i'm also not really interested in top end performance. I really miss my 160bhp G40, that's for sure! :( I just find the 16v is too gutless for the heavy Corrado. It feels underpowered, it doesn't have a nice soundtrack, the fuel/bhp ratio is terrible, it can be a pig to fault find etc etc etc . If the MPG was much better with them, then I could see their value, but they're just not that much cheaper to run than the VR or G60 (if at all) so I don't see the point in them, like I say I love the 8v because it gives 40mpg and you still get the thrill of being in a rado. Ultimately, I just don't get on with it. As I said, the VR6 and G60 are full of character, but I just dont get that feeling from valvers, I really don't feel the engine does the Corrado any justice.

i think i can judge... not my fault you need to mod a g60 for it to be half decent!! when my vr6 is modded there will be no comparison!! Fair enough, then we'll agree to disagree, i'm not here to argue  IMO, you can't make a fair comparisson between two things if you've not got experience of them both.
-
I don't think you can really make a judgement as to whether one is better than the other if you've not tried both, tbh   I'd also disagree that VR6's are more expensive than G60's - there's plenty of decent VR6's to be found for around the £2k-£2.5k mark, but trying to find a decent G60 for that is becoming bloody difficult! :gag:
-
Have you ever had a good drive of a decent G60 with a chip/pulley etc?
-
 I've had them all, and also had 2 x 2.08v's so can give a good unbiased opinion on each model having lived with them all. But ultimately there's not a lot of point, as it's all subjective. Like others have said, the engines are completely different with their own unique characterisics, not everyone will like the same thing. The only way of finding out what you prefer is it have a decent test of them all. As far as my opinion goes, I think the VR6 is a great cruiser, very refined, with an awesome soundtrack. The G60 feels far more aggresive, but needs to be tweaked (which can be done cheaply to get up to around 200bhp) Once they're tweaked they're awesome fun and just beg to be taken down some twisty roads in 3rd gear - awesome. I just don't rate the valvers at all, I can't stand the engines and think they really dont suit Corrados. I love the 8v, for a daily driver they're great - economical, reliable, torquey, look great, feel great to be in. Just go and drive a VR6, i'm 99% sure that you'll want to buy one if you can find/drive a goodun.

Do they not teach the green cross code any more...?
Walesy replied to joebloggsVR69's topic in General Car Chat
Try getting through Newquay in holiday season, everyone seems to have that 'im on holiday so im gonna amble down the middle of the road without a worry in the world' attitude :? -
There might have been a couple of inaccuracies but in general I thought it was a great piece. It was awesome to see a Rado on a modern show and it looked like a great example. I think it's awesome for the car in general to have that exposure, fantastic stuff!
