Hi guys, I finally bought my first Corrado Monday.
Walesy replied to Rento_VW's topic in General Car Chat
190mm lip  :) The car looks lovely mate, and in my favourite colour too. Whereabouts in California are you from? -
Ignition switch or barrel? - got in my car this morning and the key literaly refuses to turn, I assume it;s the barrel that's fooked?
-
Looks like Bordeuax red to me mate, the paint code should be on a sticker on the inside of the rear panel (in the boot) and also on the first page of the service schedule booklet in the owners pack

Noisekiller under bonnet foam/sound suppressant.

Sounds fair to me, i'm having a new bonnet which will need painting cos i've got a couple of dents in mine so i'm gonna need some, it's a late ('95) car so stick me down on the list :) -
Aqua blue with cream interior is one of the best combos IMO
-
 If you can buy it back, i'd be interested in the bonnet if it's in good condition and not too expensive..
-
It might be worth adding who you're insured with to your posts, it could be usefull for others.

:( - Shame! , is it a twilight violet?

The window control unit might be buggered mate, it's located behind the drivers side rear interior panel. -
Absolutey loving the ronals mate, IMO it needs to be a tad lower and it'd look perfect 8)

Cheers for the reply. Here's a list of what's available: So i'm assuming that won't be all I need?
-
What exactly is needed when doing a TDI conversion? i've seen a 130 PD engine and 6 speed box for sale - can anyone give me a list of EVERYTHING i need to whack it into a 16v or 8v rado? cheers

Top Gear... back Sunday night with 'that' Golf!
Walesy replied to jazzdevil's topic in General Car Chat
 - indeed! - the little scrotum is fast becoming my least favourite of the three tosspots. They make it unwatchable for me, I got as far as the end of the golf bit and had to turn over and that will be it for this series for me. -
Yip.

Great to see this car being looked after so well 8) , it was in a right state when I bought it.

It'd have to be the TVR for me, they may be a PITA but it'd be worth it every time you took it out. Shame to hear you're thinking of getting rid but it doesn't really suprise me. Someone's gonna get themselves a very nice Corrado as and when you do sell, and not one that you see whored at every given oppertunity either. P.S your ghey.

I have to be honest dude, I really can't see why you would rather have that on your drive than your lovely 24v rado but I spose I would say that being a rado nut :) Me and my missus have often said we'd like a leon though as a 2nd car, they look far better on the road than most modern cars IMO - and that looks like a nice one too! enjoy dude.

I'd agree with the others, I wouldn't pay any more than £2k

Do you ever have dreams involving your Corrado?

 Grumpy fecker -
Nice work mate :) I saw your car in Crantock beach car park the other night, I assume you were in the surf (what little there has been recently!) Next time I see it there i'll know where to go for the DVD player

Walesy replied to joebloggsVR69's topic in General Car Chat
I still have dreams about my first corrado now and then :( - I've had many rados in the years since I sold it but none have come close to it, it was a really well made example. I rang the bloke I sold it to last summer to see if he'd sell it back and he wasn't interested as he still loves every minute of owning it - which I 'spose is a concilation. -
My mother in law lives on a hippy commune in S.France, it's a beautifull part of the world and you can get ALOT for your money out there, my missus and I have considered it as an option - but France is certainly not somewhere that you can just get on with your own thing and be left alone, there's a hell of alot of red tape over there.

Yep, as time goes by we seem to be having more and more restrictions/laws/rules put on us, it seems to make some people in our society feel safer. I can see myself moving to NZ in the future.

I remember driving up someones arse years ago 'cos I was lighting a 'cigarette' and not looking where I was going  - luckily it was in crawling traffic so there was no damage and the guy let me go on my way, I 'spose I was let off lightly. Fortunately, I no longer smoke and now live in an area that has no traffic so the chances of that happening again are zero 8)
