C'mon all you C 8-valve owners where are you???
vr6storm replied to vr6storm's topic in General Car Chat
they do exist tho darren(not saying you said thay don't btw)........i almost bought one from the local vw-stealer in aberdeen........looked very nice too with black totally unmarked paintwork,1-previous owner,FVWSH....and only 22k on the clock........apart from it being an auto  something i thought i could maybe live with due to its A1 condition, anyway the stealer had it up for a pretty steep £11k in sept 2000 and still had for sale in april 2001 though by this time down to £8k when i enquired about it they just wanted rid and were giving me over book for my bmw compact,so arranged a test-drive only to be beaten to it by someone else who wanted it and bought it there and then.....thank god...........anyway seen it for sale again with 29k miles on it just last august for £6k -
c'mon guys if your hiding just cos you've got the 2.0 8v under your bonnet!!........i almost bought 2 of them and one was an auto  so they are out there......and also considered the purest looking of them all.....dunno why though :? as they look identical to all intents and purposes as their 16v and vr6 brothers(just the wheels and noise separates the vr6 from them) looks like they're pretty much the rarest C you can get...apart from jez's campaign 8) could well be rarer than the storm........so c'mon out of hiding your more than welcome here
-
hmmmmm......of course there's always mark gough's one 8) jim  low-ish miles and been well pampered.....go on you know you want it  and don't let the saxo ribbing get to you mate...........most of us know how much you want to get back into Corrado-ownership
-
LOL!!! i'll need the chauffuer's hat to keep the sun off me bonce too as fingers-crossed kames will be as sunny as biggar and elgin were and watch out skid........you might get up to 35k this decade
-
even better jims16v 8) .........i'll have a hi-res version too please m8
-
right thats it......your not gettin your C back til the winter   i'll need a lot more compliments before my head is bigger than the old stomach bone
-
cheers jim  got it on my pc right now.........and thanks for using my motor
-
thanks for the compliments mark but i'm pretty sure your C is in a lot better condition than my storm is in i know what you mean that it was hardly bad before the koni's but it was just a bit too high for my liking and it didin't inspire me with confidence in the twisties or bends.........after the koni's its almost like its on rails!!! and any pic in particular that you want the hi-res version of??
-
just remember paul its taken me almost 2years to get rid of the 4x4 effect so you've got plenty time to sort out yours and well after pau1's efforts with photo-shop it looks like those lights could well be added to the list.....am i getting the modding bug or what  also quite fancy being a rebel and getting a kamei grille spoiler thingy
-
kamei do one for about £60 from C&R enterprises i think
-
well its a starting point if you sell for that then well done but be prepared to come down a wee bit....i would call it a result if you got over £2k for it(again no dis-respect meant)
-
to be brutally honest(no disrespect here by the way)£3k for a 1.8 16v is a bit steep even though its below avg miles and if its in good condition i had a friend of mine sell his nice bordeaux pearl J-plate 1.8 16v 8) with approx 110k on it fsh, elec cloth recaro's and recent engine rebuild in nice original condition last year for just under £2.5k so really bearing in mind its white(even though its the nicer alpine white 8) )and not a metallic i think you should be asking round the £2.5k mark
-
Can someone tell me what date the meet is ? :? sunday 29th june......you going to be home by then??
-
to be honest....i don't know.....didn't measure it before.....d'oh.....anyway from the bottom of the wheelarches to the top of the wheel-lip(not the tyre) its 100mm all round
-
sounds like a plan biggrim......don't know our setting off times yet.......will the week before be enough time to let you know
-
blimey mike........hope your ok and weren't too shaken up by it all......whoever did it should be charged with attempted manslaughter if there was such a thing
-
cheers joe.............at the moment its a bit weird to drive as the geometry has still to be done......but its getting done at star the morn
-
OUCH!! .....know the feeling quine  .....i did mine a few weeks back......glad to hear you've no damage :D and yes skid should have his minter ready for kames.......still in 2minds whether to let him chauffeur me  or take the nice'n'low storm down too :?
-
