check this link out for a cheaper option than a re-trim http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=884 and it only takes a couple of days to do also the beige and black leather interiors from either storm are pretty much identical to any other black or beige leather interior from most 93(M/Y onward)"leathered-up" Corrados....the only differences from a storm interior and a "leathered-up" Corrado is that the "storm" badge replaces the "karmann" badge on the centre console
-
i'm assuming its the black interior(from a mystic blue storm) that you have from a storm........then black dash/carpets/plastics are what you'll need(can't remember if it also has black headlining but grey would compliment it enough....afterall it isn't a storm you have  so shouldn't really matter too much) if its the beige leather interior(from a classic green storm) you have then its the black dash/beige carpets headlining and plastics you'll need but as ive said you don't have a storm so you really don't need to go to the expense of doing it all
-
if its koni coil-overs then 99% sure they are the same.........they better be as thats what the blokes at TSR said when i bought mine
-
the smaller spoiler isn't a vr6 only part btw....its actually a 94/95 front spoiler(for all versions of the C)so if you get it from GPC you should find it cheaper than what your dealer will charge and it'll be O/E

Help - emergency wheel therapy needed
vr6storm replied to castoutintheseventies's topic in Drivetrain
any 14 inch mk2 golf wheel should fit or any non gti/vr6 mk3 golf wheel should fit too..best to make sure its not under 14inch tho -
and here is what it looks like(well on a LHD)........also it might be worth trying GPC for this too as they had them up til last year for just over £100+vat
-
right first off did you check that the oil wasn't already over the sump before going for the test-drive......also did you check what sort of oil-level was reading on the dipstick before starting the engine as that could give you an idea as to whether or not its got an oil-leak problem(though bear in mind that the vr6 can use as much as 1litre over 1000km's) as for the driveshafts.....i'm not too sure on that one...have to look at mine first......but think it could be right that one is thicker than the other.....i think that it could be why the vr6 doesn't seem to be affected by torque steer as you would think with almost 200 horses going thru the front-wheels....could be well off the mark there btw
-
sounds like someones missing his vr6...eh paul

Urban legend as far as I remember Roddy. Might have worked the first couple of times it was tried but I'm pretty sure they are wise to it now. like i said.....only heard about it never tried it.....honest g'vnor
-
sorry but a LHD C over in the uk just isn't a desirable sight in fact its normally looked upon as a cheap way of getting a popular performance car in the uk.......the only exceptions to the rule being golf rallye's,bmw m3's(e-30)and the lancia delta integrale as when these get converted to RHD(which some have been done) they use lesser models steering components and can lose some steering feel/sharpness etc....so the LHD originals are more desirable

High mileage VR6 corrados..............................
vr6storm replied to DORSET_V_DUBSTER's topic in General Car Chat
no some early Vr's spoiler speed is 45mph.....its a model year thing as opposed to a model specific thing -
was for the first time last year on the sunday.............its a mix of both air-cooled and water-pumpers....though as its on a show ground it can be a bit of a mudbath if it rains

Help - emergency wheel therapy needed
vr6storm replied to castoutintheseventies's topic in Drivetrain
if its anything other than a vr6 like everyone else has mentioned then it will only be 4-stud so you can get any steel/alloy wheel suitable for a mk2 golf, scirocco and most non gti/vr6 mk3 golf.....as its really only a temporary measure you'd maybe as well buying steel wheels as even these new i think aren't too dear -
another one i've heard of is that if you send a cheque for 1p over what the fine/fixed penalty is and you don't cash the cheque they send back for the 1p they seemingly can't process it......don't know how true or effective that is though

High mileage VR6 corrados..............................
vr6storm replied to DORSET_V_DUBSTER's topic in General Car Chat
the spoiler setting was changed for later models(8v,16v and vr6)......though in the storm brochure it still states it goes up at approx 45mph....though in reality its 56-60mph -
you should have vented front discs already.........though for only £28 ea+vat of course you can get AtE power groove discs that have a bit more bite to them....AtE are an o/e manufacturer btw

VWCCGB(SCOTTISH REGION)pre-GTI-International Aberdeen meet
vr6storm replied to vr6storm's topic in General Car Chat
right heres's some pics from the pre-gti-international meet on sunday pics courtesy of steve kidd not a bad turnout which comprised of 4 1.8 16v's,5 G-60's and my storm being the only vr6 there........and of course ess three's audi S3 -
yip i'm a member of the "bill aitken Corrado vr6 appreaciation society" too plus he's a top bloke too........his car is one of the best subtly modded C's i've ever seen
-
the storm is actually rated in group 19  also the 8-valve C is in a higher group than the 1.8 16v C because its value was more....when the 8-valve C came out it was a good 2 years after the 1.8 16v was last sold
-
i'm sorry but that is soooo funny its unbelieveable about the "money is no object" family   if it is no object to them then they should have insured the bmw under the kid's name ............it just shows that insurance companies are wise to all these things too.............if the insurance is going to be too prohibitive for you the best most sensible thing to do is to wait for a few years til it gets affordable and earn some more no-claims...hard to do i know but in the long run it makes sense
-
nice looker there btw..............love those alloys too really suit your C
-
wasn't niko doing it the other way about nige???...........RHD to LHD
-
hi declan m8, by the sounds of it your aux.coolant pump is doing the same as what mine did last year............as mine was leaking coolant and leaving puddles over the gearbox etc...........unfortunetly you'll have to replace the whole unit...and worse if i remember rightly its approx £114+vat..luckily for me my C was still under warranty so i got mine done FOC the good news though is that it should only take 30 mins to change
-
but paul isn't your steering geometry out...........this might be the main culprit as opposed to inflating the tyres to VW's figures......of course it also depends if you check your tyres hot or cold...you are maybe putting in too much air as well
-
if your going to inters this year get them from GPC's stand.....they should be cheaper than the stealers and vat-free too
