  2. blimey jill what you trying to do.....get me having a heart attack!!! ..........i would be too scared my C would get dirty going round the track
  3. 99% sure i'll be there..............don't know if i'll take the soon to be lowered storm or bagsy pass. seat with you mr Kidd.....if you don't mind.....and of course if i let you have your C back from the painters
  4. qrugh don't know if its likely to be similar but way back in 1991 i had a escort xr3i(cvh engined one)when it had the camshaft done the camshaft oil seals were a bit of a pain to get to seal right and it would after a few hours start to ooze out from just below the rocker cover gasket and from the side of the timing belt cover it was eventually fixed by getting the garage to put a new seal in............now although its a different engine to your one i'm pretty sure the ford and the vw engine would have the camshaft seal in similar positions maybe its just bad luck and your camshaft seal has gone.......but if it is leaking from the timing belt area too i would get that fixed asap you don't want the oil to start to weaken the timing belt and the other belts in that area
  5. pretty sure its the 24V vr6 thats in the V6 4motion's(204bhp) though when the C vr6 was new there was talk of a flagship C getting a 24valve head........but it never got to production
  6. nice one m8.....welcome to the "storm" club  8)
  7. yours will probably have a vag-com socket but it might not talk to the Vag-com........my mate ess three tried fault-coding dubster82's 91 H-plate G-60 a month ago and it wouldn't talk to it
  8. that was struan's motor(aka scotcorradog60)though i'm sure if you speak to pau1(aka paul allan......he was the one who transplanted it in the first place) on this forum he might also be able to to the g-60 transplant for you.......though you would have to source the g-60 first

    Chipping a VR6?

my car was booked in for 10am and was taken in approx 9.45am........and was ready for just after 12.30pm............they let you take it for a wee spin after they've re-chipped it....so that you can see the difference its made then when you've had some fun round the block they go over the before and after figures with you.....and of course give you the bill my only grumble about the whole experience is that they are quite busy so you can be left in the waiting room with nothing but the telly and coffe machine for company......though they did offer to give us a run to Bicester Village which is the outlet shops near to them
  10. d'oh forgot to mention mine had the closed slat grille when i bought the car and i replaced it with the GPC "open-slatted"one
  11. 8) 8) ah well in your own words....."HAVE IT!!"

    Chipping a VR6?

on the VR6(and most other dubs i think)the oil cooler is between the block and the filter.......and one of the signs of it leaking is the expansion tank getting some oil in it as for chipping a VR6......i had mine chipped by AmD recently and got a 14bhp and 17lb/ft increase......and a noticable improvement in the driveability...all for £250+vat
  13. just get a new one from GPC its still an oem part too btw.........and they're only £23+vat
  14. thought you would like the drive in struan's motor
  15. just like you've forgot how to spell country then
  16. your thinking of 95 model year C chassis numbers there.......like i said storm's chassis numbers were all over the place its not as straight forward as wvw zzzk 001 being the first and wvw zzzk 500 being the last the next chassis number to a storm could have well been a 8-valver afterall the storm was really only badged by the dealers when they arrived for sale and were being pdi'd
  17. phone up VW's customer service dept and ask them to tell you what it was sold as(quoting the above info).................storm's chassis numbers are all over the place btw and it is never recorded on the registration book as being a storm......hope that helps.........by the sounds of it it seems genuine.....but classic green is the easiest one to fake up as a storm
  18. just to echo what skid has said jill(pity you were working during the show tho  ) also everyone made us more than welcome.........fingers-crossed i'll see you all again at kames too no doubt i'll have skid in the comfort-mobile again.....lol......though reckon its his turn  btw matt still selling his limited after his wee spin in the vr6turbo rallye???lol
  19. Nope. Do they usually? I was planning on doing it within the 28 Days, and if worst comes to worst say that My GF filled it out whilst i was at work and i forgot to sign. Thought it was worth a go...? as far as i can recollect they get you to sign a document that they give a duplicate copy to you(then again it could have all changed since i got done 2yrs ago) also its is not your G/F's responsability to fill out any document for you this will more than likely put it over the 28days by playing "silly buggers"....they will just report it to the P/F's office as not accepting the "offer" of a fixed penalty and then put it into the court system......the outcome will more than likely be a fine that will be more than the fixed penalty offer and possibly more than 3 points.....also you could be summoned to court with all its associated costs etc...now do you see why just taking it like a man is the better atitiude to have 3 points shouldn't affect your insurance and £60 is alot cheaper than possibly taking time off work travelling to court and the other costs btw this thread really is about NIP's which is what you have to get within 14days of being done by a speed camera..........this is not the same as being caught in a speed trap by the traffic police which is your case....the fact that there was 2 policemen who can corroborate that you were driving in xs of the speed limit according to the equipment used is normally enough for most courts......to disprove this you would have to plead not guilty then prove off your own back that you were not driving in xs of the speed limit...........you will have to either hire a solicitor(costs more than £60) or do your own defence......which if you believe you can do then good luck to you.......bearing in mind that you'll still have to travel down to attend court.........now do you see why its cheaper and less hassle to accept the fixed penalty......if you think you can get out of it by pleading ignorance then more fool you
  20. so they never got you to sign anything in their car while you were getting charged???.........remember that if you go over the 28days grace that the fixed penalty allows you will then be reported to that region's proc.fiscal's office and the £60 fixed penalty will look like a bargain.........as for proving it was you the 2 officers will be able to corrobarate that it was you driving if need be by going to court....much as everyone(including myself) would like to get off with a speeding charge the thing here is that you'll have to take it like a man all your going to achieve by taking this course of action is to increase what you'll end up paying and of course run a fair chance of getting more than just 3points....but at the end of the day its up to you.....just don't say you ain't been warned about the extra costs involved
  21. very nice lenny!.....just love those rx's too
  22. d'oh how rude of me....forgot to say thanks to darren and jims16v for the compliment........where is it you want me to send those fivers out to then????
  23. gee you guys you're making me blush here  ........believe me the camera can lie a bit......its in decent nick but it still needs some work to get to the standard i'm wanting....stone-chipped front, knack'd alloys,a ripply pass.door i could go on........ anyway my 3 that i've seen pics of and in the flesh are skid's.......even before getting his paintwork seen to it was in good nick joeM's vr6......used to drool over that one before i ever met the previous owner paul ......sorry if its sounding like i'm scottish biased btw and jimbo's corrado???....the one with the window deflector thingys......just looks so cool in black but everyone elses one has their own merits......afterall one of my most favourite of all C's..Bill Aitken's one btw....even Bill reckons his one isn't that great....but i'm sure most people agree its one of the best they've ever seen...likewise mark gough's one
  24. does he still sometime give the mk2 GTI loan car too
  25. always a pleasure chauffering you around in my "comfort" mobile 8) ....#The The's Infected#blasting an'all.......and too right i'll need a chance at the show'n'shine...thats why i'm paying yer spraying mate extra to delay finishing yer motor mannie
