and very nice it is too

reckon that he would have been given a fixed penalty notice as well as a producer....so in effect if he takes the fixed penalty notice he has accepted the ticket...........as for radar detectors Skid had his one on in mine for the trip to biggar and it went loopy at the speed trap brian obviously got done by....then again i was only doing 80mph.....not much sense in going over 80mph in these times and on the main road south of aberdeen when they're out to generate revenue

hella make lights for quite a few different marques.........what i was meaning joe, was different car manufacturers as opposed to different O/E suppliers......VW/Audi have had a long relationship with Porsche so fitting some(not all) porsche bits to VW's doesn't look too out of place...whereas fitting any BMW bits to a VW look so stupid its a sin(imho)anyway hope thats cleared that up
-
well so you telling me that if some1 fits porsche alloys or porsche mirrors they should go and buy a porsche instead or same with RS4 bumpers? I dont like BM as they to common and ordinary, now the angel eyes i think would suit the mean front looks that the corrado already has. Also if not the angel eyes i want to put some sort of diferent lights in it liek xenons or hid from some other car as im not prepared to pay 1 grand for a kit,so no i think angel eyes will suit the corrado if done properly, hell you can even have the circle emmit red light or blue but its a matter of taste,if you dont like it dont do it no one is forcing just trying to get some ideas and tips. to be honest Porsche have a quite a bit more of a connection with VW than BMW or Mercedes....so you can get away with Porsche alloys or mirrors on a VW as for the angel-eyes leave them to BMW's...i can understand you wanting to improve the lighting on your C but putting in different marques lights just kind of defeats the purpose of having a C...afterall was it not the front view of one that helped make you want a C in the first place....every single C i've seen with non-original lights IMHO just looks stupid.....fit either the uprated headlight loom or DIY one just my 2p's worth and hope you'll take it as constructive criticsm.....i'm not dictating to you how to spend your cash or mod your C.....at the end of the day its all up to you

here is the dash from a 91 J-plate G-60......which as far as i know/am aware is classed as the earlier style dash.....hopefully thats answered your question then
-
ah.....youv'e found out about mr kerr's work then......he's a 2 corrado-owning chicken farmer
-
might have something to do with your door build fitting(assuming you've fitted them)...........trapped wire/loose conection or similar
-
i would probably go for the L-reg one(blue with leather interior) they have for sale over the hi-miler 24k since it was last serviced isn't really a good idea and doesn't sound like "brilliant" service history...even if it has had oil-changes since all the other components/running gear wouldn't have had any checks etc
-
welcome to the site mr roberts :D if its just for a wee while you could try Law's Tyres in BoD....as one of the G-60 guys(struan the bouncer) on here got them to check/adjust his alignment on his lowered C(approx £20-ish)....Kenway Tyres won't look at anything thats been lowered so i'm told too anyway happy hunting

understand what your saying there(just) kev...but dav only thought (wasn't 100% sure)that the engine was running when the VAG-COM check was done.....this code always comes up when you check the dtc's with the engine off and can easily be diagnosed as a fault unless you know what your doing as i said in my post mine came up a couple of times last year along with the good ol cam.pos sensor(at inters02 we cleared it and when we checked it again after inters it had appeared.......then we found out about the engine speed sensor always coming up when checked with the engine off but ignition on)
-
whatever you do DON'T BUY A NEW ENGINE SPEED SENSOR.....mine came up a couple of times last year when Ess Three did the VAG-COM check on my C......checked with the local stealer and they said you need a new one too....but also checked with jim curley(star-performance) and he told me that if the engine speed sensor was knack'd then the engine wouldn't turn over at all and wouldn't even run...........it shows up whenever you do a VAG-COM check with the engine off

if insurance is going to be an issue then a Corrado isn't really the right motor to go for just yet.......the lowest grouped Corrado will be the 16v(ins grp 15???) then the 8-valve(strange i know) anyway you'll find out that G-60's are nowhere near as fragile as what non-Corrado-owners will have you believe....just make sure the charger has been recently rebuilt or budget for getting it done asap the 16v's shouldn't really be unreliable(unless mistreated) as the 1.8 16v is bascially the same engine thats fitted to countless mk2 golf gti's and they still have a big following the 8-valver is quite a rarity though obviously a wee bit underpowered for the weight of the Corrado although there's plenty of young guys here with Corrado's the best thing for you to do is wait for a few years build some more ncb and then go for a Corrado..........if you've been quoted £2k ins then it'll leave you very little money for any repairs/maintenance that allCorrado's will be needing
-
if you don't mind a trip across the water to bonnie scotland there's always AmD's agents Star-performance,glenrothes,fife.....about 2-3 hours away from stranraer and they've a pretty good reputation.....and of course Vwccgb members get discount too
-
as its a hydraulic clutch you have jamie you shouldn't need a clutch cable.....but it could be maybe the gear-linkage or the clutch master cylinder....not too expensive but still not cheap either though
-
well that was quite a "wee" meet today....some very nice mk2's especially Matt's G-60 Limited very nice too......and as for the sound of that turbo'd vr6 engined Rallye.....well nice sorry never got round to introducing myself to you Gill but was too busy having a wee natter to yer man Matt........hopefully get some our Aberdeen C-owners up to your neck of the woods next month and then properly introduce myself............
-
might just pop along...............i take it non-club-gti members are welcome??

hi stevie..... if you pm Ess Three(glenn with the Audi S3 at the duthie park meet a few weeks back) on this list he'll tell you more as he normally has coatech in carnoustie(which pau1 is on about) do wheels regularly for him and the finish is pretty hot too(seen his C vr6 speedlines that he has on his gti-anniversary......very good quality too) .....tho he does do most of the prep work prior to taking them down but he'll be able to give you an idea of whats needed or not so you on for going down to biggar next week too??
-
?????are you sure kev?????as far as i'm aware the handles only have an electronic connection for signalling the total closure to operate........and so would still need some sort of vacuum pipe in the door(with it being a vacuum operated C/L system......my passenger door was doing the same thing as biggrim's and it turned out to be the latch had started to seize up......so after getting the handle off and greasing both the handle and latch its been as good as gold

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! ......don't let everyone in on my secret
