not if its history is fishy.............these days £5k is strong money for even VR6's with history let alone ones with missing history
-
ask him if the "missing" history was from VW dealers.................if he says yeah........phone VW customer service they should be able to tell you where and when it as serviced throughout the dealer network..............but sounds fishy to me especially fairly strong money for a car with unverified miles
-
Corrado Storm VR6 is the way its shown on the fitting instructions so unless the original fitter was thick..........its been re-painted or removed replaced
-
think the heated seat relay resides there too...........obviously if you have cloth it wont be
-
is there still Flambards in Helston?....................went there in 1990 with an ex
-
fugly motor tho...........awesome concept but by gawd its been hit with the ugly stick
-
also the 1.8 16v ideally prefers optimax as opposed to normal U/L that the 2.0 16v runs happily on
-
looks good.................did you do the lights yourself?
-
curled lip sounds like the american( or was it canadian spec) "knee" protectors
-
looking good furk!!!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

try pumping it a few times and check the clutch fluid reservoir(its also the brake fluid one too)..........top it up if its down............my UR-quattro had a hairline crack in the reservoir and every so often clutch pedal would sink to the floor........topped it up and a few pumps later it would last a few weeks before needing topping up.........it could be as simple as that
-
sounds like something you've changed is loose
-
should just be remove and replace..................you'll need to find out for sure if a Passat one fits 1st tho..........have you tried lifting the pedal up with your foot yet?......sometimes they can sink due to either air in the reservoir or a leak
-
yeah you can even rob parts from a 90's Passat from memory(sure they're all hydraulic clutches)...........its around about the pedal box from memory......
-
more than likely yer clutch slave cylinder has gone more than your clutch
-
welcome to the world of F***ed headlight switches................pop off the blanking switch beside the headlight switch and pop that out and disconnect it............viola yer lights should go out then
-
either way then if you don't have the £500XS to fix it best just going TPF&T it'll probably be written off at approx £1500 tho probably less these days as long as you don't have finance on it then TPF&T is the one to go for its simply not worth claiming on FC if the damage came to £600 etc
-
Now that's impossible and you know it! not unheard of tho  ................VW reckon the timing chain should last the life of the car............i know of one VW head mech and one VW specialist who also think this
-
it actually should feel sluggish compared to the clio btw..........they are fairly torquey and have less weight to carry than the golf......... air filter could also be needing a change btw.........does it smoke quite badly on full throttle?
-
60k is the serpentine belt change interval also likely to be a plug change and fuel filter change due(every 20k miles)
-
VR6's are 18 and Storms are 19 btw
-
limited numbers of Escort Cosworths(iirc 5000-odd versus nearly 100k-odd )helps there too tho Dazzy............also they have a rallying heritage which also helps..........if you want to play the Karman card bit then the escort cabrio was also built there at near enough the same time.........not exactly the same thing to compare is it?

vr6storm replied to corradoman24's topic in General Car Chat

and most cars don't take too kindly to long spells of storage
