    6branch

I have a raceland 6 branch due to come of a car I am breaking in the coming weeks. £120 to you, postage extra if you need it posted. Based in Bournemouth, lets have a deal. :)
  2. Don't worry about getting a pic I'll take one when I've removed it from the car so you can check.
  3. I noticed that this guy shows slam panels as being generic across the 16v/G60/VR6. I can assure you that VR6 slam panels are quite different to the G60 ones. HTH John
  4. Yeah I can probably help you with that. Might need to mail down in a bit more detail exactly what bits you're looking for. Are talking the piece that sits inside the centre console which the dials/radio all seat into? John
  5. if it all falls through I have a fusebox about to come available from a 1994 VR6 and as far as I'm concerned you can have the car-side wiring & connector that goes with it too if you want it. Not sure how to tell if it's OBD2 - a previous owner put a later type diagnostic connector on it but still unsure how to tell. The car is a coil-pack if that help? You might have to help me remove it from the car but you can have the lot for £25 if you are prepared to collect it from Bournemouth? Let me know. Cheers John
  6. Hi mate, I think the clunking noises are the clue. Sounds like a link of some kinds playing up. Start by looking at things like the ARB links as that's definately something that can clank without your wheels actually falling off. Possibility it could be a shot damper. If it's pulling to one side under acceleration then something is moving about down there - if it was the alignment I think you'd notice it all the time ?

    Corrado VR6 Radiator

I might have one available but it's still on a car that I'm about to break so I can't confirm the condition 100%. However I know it doesn't leak and is only three years old. How quickly do you need it? Can you wait a week or so? PM me if interested and we can discuss early next week. Cheers John
  8. Hope it works out for you, because recommended oil for a VR6 is 15w40. What you've bought will be a bit thin when cold, and a bit too thick when warmed up. What were you using before? "Running like a bag of bollocks" isn't instructive - was it down on power, or clattering or what?
  9. I am about to break a car and can help you with : - The BMC Carbon Filter - A very special Gauge pod with Stack gauges for oil pressure and temp built into the Corrado pod (looks amazing) - A Clifford Eagle kit with remote start + fobs (but you'll need to help me remove it from the car) - Both a Momo race wheel (with boss) and a Nothelle wheel (both leather) - I will also have a Magnex stainless system available, plus a powerflow sports cat and a 6 branch manifold too if you want to do the whole system. In addition to the above I will have what may be one of the larger collections of quality parts coming off this car in the coming months as this car is (was) probably one of the most modified VR6s mechanically out there. PM me if you're interested in any of these bits, or want to ask about anything else you need as at this time I will probably have it. I havn't finalised pricing all the bits up (I did a list at the office but forgot to mail it home) but PM me and am happy to discuss requirements. The only bit not for sale is the bottom end of the engine which is knackered. Based in Bournemouth. Cheers John
  10. Not being funny, but the only way a car that size could be worth £30k to me would be if it had about £17k worth of drugs hidden in the boot. There's just no way that can be worth that much more than a new Ford Fiesta
  11. Not a great idea as aside from anything else a 24v car is a much different insurance proposition to a 12v for a lot of people. And there there's the sheer honestly element. If a seller is willing to misrepresent something as core as the engine, how could I trust anything else he says about the car? Certainly if I agreed to travel 250 miles to Cambridge and the car was completely misrepresented I'd be pretty unhappy with young Mic. I agree that if selling to put it on Pistonheads as a 24v as there's a much wider audience of enthusiasts out there who this might appeal to.

    Rally lights

You should take a look at the InPro headlights at Venom Motorsport. They fit straight in, have projectors same as the Rallye ones and in my view look a lot better. Light output is still a bit crap, but they do look better Crystal Black
  13. I do agree, but if he sells them at that price who's the numpty then? First rule of selling something like this is that you only have to find one person prepared to pay the price. And there are plenty of suckers out there.
  14. I don't think it's easy to predict what will command a premium and what won't in the secondhand market. Escort Cosworths havn't really dropped below £15k in the 20 years since they made them, whilst at the same time Lancia Integrales dropped under £5k at one point although they have now recovered up a bit. And Quattro residuals were slowly dying until Life on Mars came along and suddenly prices almost doubled! What we need is a marketing plan! We need to get some TV cop in a Corrado and then we can sit back and watch our "investments" go back up :)
  15. None of the comments about sellers being defensive or misrepresenting condition is specific to the Corrado. Half the world is doing it, although it does seem rather stupid that sellers on Pistonheads also do it, because as any fule no the buyers on there are far more likely to be enthusiasts and more gemmed up than average. Well you'd think so at least!
  16. I know what you mean Jim and as you know I've had the blues with these cars on a number of occasions, so I've just SORN'd it for a few months so I can make a calm decision. The car will be repaired, but the thought of finally moving on seems to grow stronger on each occasion, and it feels very strong right now. Having already put over £24k into this car in just five years (excluding fuel and insurance - that's just fixing and modifying) I think a stock M5 might be cheaper to run! But this car owes me so much, and the cameraderie of the Corrado & VW scene is great - those are factors which can't be underestimated. Chances are I'll get the car back and fall in love with it all over again. That's what's happened before. I'm just not feeling the love for it right at this moment. On the other hand I've always fancied an XJR, being an old man & all that :)
  17. I need to read threads like this from time to time. It helps my morale level when my car is sitting on the drive with (yet another) knackered bottom end and facing a rebuild. When XJRs and E39 M5s are selling online for buttons I need lots of encouragement to fund another engine repair to fix the grey paperweight with wheels sitting on my drive.
  18. Hi Alex, As has been said the problem is with your particular VW dealer's attitude. In my experience they only offer you discount if they think they have to. Down here in Bournemouth I always get discount. That may be due to the fact that I've been a customer for 13 years, but I suspect it's more due to the fact that GS&F is only 600yds down the road, Euro Car Parts less than a mile, and the local TPS only two miles away... Feeling your pain though... Cheers John
  19. Honestly I'd say it's worth nothing unless it's on the car. If the buyer is prepared to pick up the costs of transferring the plate off you could try selling it on here but I don't think you'll get much for it if you even get a buyer. So, to the point about your buyer, who I suspect is trying to find a way to knock you down, the plate's worth £100 quid off, and he will have to pay the £105 fees to remove it. Just my opinion of course.
  20. Just out of interest, was this a test you conducted with your own guns? If so can you tell me where you are, so I can stay out of your neighbourhood? Sounds tough down your way! :D
  21. I was only jesting fella. The counterpoint to the trackday boast was my complete inability to get away from both KipVW and 2CC on the roads in Scotland last summer no matter how hard I tried!
  22. Yeah don't start a valver vs VR6 handling argument, I might be forced to mention (again) that I lapped every single valver within just 6 laps at last summer's Autometrix trackday. heh heh heh
  23. They never actually made the 215bhp claimed for them, although they did have more poke that a stock car. The main engine mod is that the heads were flowed. The reason people thought they were so quick was at least in part because of those awful three spoke wheels. Nothelle sent the car out wearing 40 profile tyres on 16" wheels, effectively lowering the gearing and cheating the tacho. Interestingly this particular car has an Oettinger steering wheel. I have a Nothelle branded item (although it's not fitted to my car at the moment) and am interested how the Oettinger one got on there. I'm also interested in how a car currently resident in Dublin seems to be wearing UK plates in all the photos. Before lashing out £6900 for this car (as if anyone would for a 1992 car) any prospective owner should also enquire about the interior. It should be an expensive hand-stiched leather jobbie. There are no photos or mention of leather (or aircon) in the article.
