  1. Anyone know if the 312s will fit under RS301s or is 288 the biggest you can go?
  2. heheh, add a front numberplate and change the wheels and that's pretty much what Laura's looks like at the mo! Apart from the fully flared arches and angel eyes... hmmm... See what peeps mean about the back bumper looking small though - the RS front comes pretty low but the RS rears I've seen look a bit wrong...
  3. I spoke to Henny about this at the RR day, and he said that cars registered after August '93 (ie. K-plate or newer) don't have to have a cat for the MOT, as I had thought - they just have to pass the lower emissions levels set for cars with a cat.
  4. Welcome to the forum mate! Whereabouts in the SE are you?
  5. Sorry for slightly OT again, but are the Konigsports noticeably harder/softer/better handling/worse handling than the legendary Koni TA/H&R spring combo? I have the latter at the mo but really want a lower ride height and H&R don't do -60mm springs...
  6. All of the 1.8T 20V engines are effectively the same - bar some internal differences and different turbos afaik... Rather widely used engine, with std power ranging from 150bhp to 225bhp... It's fitted in nearly every mid-size car in the VAG group in one shape or another!
  7. I had a door painted by St George's Coachworks in Camberley and the colour match on a metallic was spot on, and a good quality job too. Can't vouch for any more than that though!
  8. Yeah, reckon... I've seen that blue one on the RS's before... Hmmm, gives me ideas!
  9. PayPal, and I use AltaVista's Babelfish for translation - but I speak a little German anyway! Ask him if he's happy to communicate in English, I'm sure it won't be a problem - just don't use slang or colloquialisms and he'll understand you fine!
  10. I'd go for the 2.0 as well as you don't get the late-spec interior in the 1.8...
  11. Errrr, if you look at where is says "Post To" at the top of the ad it says he posts to the European Union - it's the postage of 8.60Euro that is for Germany only. :) I paid 58.80Euro in total, which worked out at a shade over £40.
  12. This is the one I got... Clicka clicka! Bit cheaper than the genuine Rieger... ;)
  13. I have one of the JOM ones from eBay and the quality seems fine - plus it was half the price of the genuine Rieger! Not fitted it yet as it's not sprayed, but I have noticed that the upper clips aren't actual clips as on the std grille, but flat tabs. Is the geniune article the same?
  14. I always parked the 'rat in any space and never worried about it, and at the mo I'm the same with the C - it's got dings and scrapes on it already, a couple more won't kill it... I'm sure I'll feel differently once the bodywork's been done though!
  15. Cheers guys, think I'll be popping the starter off next weekend and cleaning all the earths up and checking it out - though I might have to have a spare on standby! Are all the 02A cable change box starters the same?
  16. My sis's valver is having some issues starting - when the key is turned, the starter seems to be powered, but it makes the sort of sound you get if you trigger it whilst the engine's already running. It usually takes about 5-10 attempts before it finally catches and turns the engine over. Reckon it's definitely the starter motor, or could it be something else? Cheers!
  17. So, I've been trawling eBay.de for a while, perusing the many fine Corrado interiors they have on offer, when it struck me as odd that all of them are early spec - which is annoying, as the late spec doorcards aren't sided whereas early ones are. Did the Germans not get the late spec interiors or something?
  18. If you still have the factory head unit, then the VW wiring should terminate in ISO connectors - it's simply a case of sliding the old head unit out of the dash by using the correct removal keys, then removing the head unit cage (you'll need a small flat-blade screwdriver to bend back the locating tabs). Then fit the new cage, connect the wiring of the new head unit to the factory wiring and slot it in. If the wiring's been chopped, it's best to have it returned to ISO connectors - you probably have a buddy who can do this for you (most people do!).
  19. Looking absolutely lovely - think IceGay is pretty much my fave colour at the mo...!
  20. The Corrado 2.0 16V is a 9A engine and uses K-Jet mechanical fuel injection, whereas the Golf MK3 2.0 16V is the ABF tall block and uses fully electronic (think it's Digifant or Simos) fuel injection and engine management, hence the extra power. The 9A is a very similar engine to the 1.8 16V KR engine, but with a little more torque thanks to the increased capacity - the power is the same due to the effect of fitting the cat. The MK2 Golf is much lighter than the rado(to the tune of a couple of hundred kilos I should imagine!), hence why it'll feel quicker than the rado. 136bhp in a 1000kg Golf will certainly be faster than 136bhp in a 1200kg Corrado!
  21. Looking on H&R's website, they do standard lowering springs with a 33mm drop and race springs with a 40mm drop... But that's not enough of a difference, and it's also off-topic! And I never noticed that it's my CF birthday today!
  22. I think Furki had the AKs and said the ride was very civilised for budget coilies... I have the Koni/H&R combo on my VR at the mo and the ride is fantastic, but it's not low enough for me so it'll be getting changed to FK Konigsports when funds allow... Unless - do H&R do -60mm springs for the VR?
  23. I personally think you should leave the carpet black - it'd be too beige inside otherwise; a little contrast highlights what you've done... Utterly stunning though, the Porsche dash works brilliantly... Two thumbs up!

    Arrrrgh!

anyway, he's only on problem 3 and he's made it to day 6! that's doing well by my calculations... ;)
