Heheh, nice one Chris! You gonna get 18s on the rado too then...?! ;)

I remember that - metallic blue, with a BMW 3-series dash? I think it was actually a 4.2 iirc - the guy started out with a 3.5 but then someone offered him a 4.2 lump for about £100 so he thought "why not?!", and then decided to strap a pair of huge turbos on as well... You just know that somewhere on the M1 there was a lorry driver wondering why his artic wasn't going up hills anymore!

Reducing centre bore fitment on alloys ?
gradeAfailure replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Drivetrain
Cheers Dom, that's what I was trying to say! Far better to have it all as one piece, and sell the hub adaptors you have already. Any good machine shop will be able to make up a combined adaptor/spigot ring out of a good strong alloy, and probably helicoil the threads for the wheelbolts for extra strength too... -
Reducing centre bore fitment on alloys ?

Seeing as the centre bore of the new wheels is larger than the VW centre bore, you could have the hub adaptors machined to include a hubcentric centre bore of 76.2, no? -

That really sucks... :( Ach, stick a big V8 in there, make it a real pimp-mobile! -
That's it in 6 months...?! Heheh, you got off lightly mate! Nah, I know how you feel, it's kind of gutting to always be fixing stuff instead of enjoying it... Just go for a drive round a town centre and try and catch sight of the car in shop window reflections - you'll remember exactly why you bought her!

That Aztec is pretty damn ugly...! For the most beautiful, one of my all-time greats has to be the Cord Phaeton, like this 1937 812 Phaeton... Does it get much better than this...?! I think not... -

Extending locking pulse - factory-fit Scorpion alarm
gradeAfailure replied to gradeAfailure's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Hmmm, I've tried looking for a model number on the alarm sounder itself but can't seem to find anything meaningful... Might have to hunt under the dash for the control module, but it's like spaghetti junction under there at the mo! Is that the number for Electrosystems? I have their technician's email address, so might have to pop him an email... -
I'd agree with StormVR6 - trust me, 45 seconds is longer than you think! Right, the 'rat will lock the doors and close all four windows in 16secs! Can't test the sunroof cos it's broken, but I doubt it'll take more than another 5 secs... Apologies for the :offtopic1: ness  Mods, might want to split this off into a separate thread?

gradeAfailure replied to StormVR6's topic in General Car Chat
;) that's cheating, heheh... :D -
As the title says, basically - the 'rat has what I believe to be a factory-fit or dealer-fit Scorpion alarm (fitted with Scotchloks, grr.... Have to sort that out one day, damn cowboys), and I was hoping to extend the locking pulse to give it total closure ability. Anyone know if this is possible, or should I just get it ripped out and an Autowatch fitted? There's nothing wrong with the alarm, per se, just be nice to have something a bit better like a CAT1...
-
Actually, it's a factory VW thing - only one window at any one time can be operated... I guess it's to prevent too much current draw or something...?
-
I thought he bought a 1.1 Fiesta as a runabout, and the RS was an Escort RS Turbo, not a Fiesta...? Either way, I'd rather have a dub, but have to confess to still wanting to own an S1 Escort RS Turbo... I say, whatever floats your boat... Far better to have something you like and enjoy it that have something just because other people tell you that it's better...

Does a Peugeot 205 Roland Garros convertible count, seeing as there were only 250 made? ;) Saw a Ferrari Enzo near Farnborough about 5 months ago - and I thought I was dreaming! Damn sure it was actually an Enzo, no other has that bonnet shape... Seen a Porsche 959, but that was parked at a car dealers in Bramley, so I guess it doesn't count! They also had a 1970s Ferrari (can't remember which model) that was one of only 7 RHD convertibles ever made... Seen a genuine F40 around Guildford, but they made about 1300, so not that rare! -
