  1. Aren't the Mk4 Golfs 5x112, not 5x100...?
  2. Mine have locking wheelbolts on and she doesn't know where the key's kept...! ;)
  3. gradeAfailure

    Tyre size?

    Yup, correctamundo...!
  4. Now where's that washer...? I'm sure I had it a minute ago... ;)
  5. Not done anything to mine in the last week - been too busy with scarlett! The car, not the driver... ;) So far, I've: Changed plugs, leads, dizzy cap and Budweiser'd the coil Drained, flushed and refilled the coolant, and new stat and fan switch Had engine bay steam cleaned Fixed central locking Partially fixed ignition wiring (at least she starts now!) Replaced broken passenger handle with de-locked Passat handle Top tinted the rear lights and fitted smoked side repeaters Sprayed wiper arms and f&r badges black Had tracking and alignment sorted Fitted re-trimmed Alcantara front seats (actually, that was dinkus and Supercharged!) Returned stereo wiring to factory ISO connector (damn it was a mess!) Fitted G60 BBS temporarily til new wheels get bought/collected (much thanks to Phil K for the lend :)) Re-fitted falling-off side trims Damn good hoover, clean, polish and wax! Now she's ready for NR tonight!
  6. How's that chip working out for you then? I got a £20 jobby off ebay.de for mine, and all it did was overfuel horrifically and totally wreck the fuelling curve... It lost me power and worsened my fuel economy - couldn't have been much worse!
  7. AFAIK, no you can't... It really does only take 5 mins though!
  8. Any recent pix then mate...?! And I trust you used green bulbs to get the indicators to flash orange...? ;)
  9. Looks nice mate! I remember seeing a grey Swedish Mk2 Golf in MaxyP aaaaages ago that had the MOs on and since then have always had a soft spot for em...!
  10. I reckon for an £800 knacked valver she's coming along nicely...! Hmmm, might ba about time I did some work on mine soon...!
  11. You can actually just unscrew the end of the plug lead and slide off the ring sender, then unscrew the end of the new lead and slide it on, then screw the end of the lead back on... Just done this to Laura's, so can confirm this is correct... BTW, it should go on the lead for No.1 cylinder... hth!
  12. I think generally most people seem to favour the Toyo Proxes T1-S and T1-R Have a look on http://www.camskill.co.uk - good prices and delivery is free...
  13. Took scarlett's valver to my local favourite valeters yesterday for an engine bay steam clean... Top quality job (just like they did on my 'rat), and they took their time over getting it done properly... Got some water in the dizzy cap but that was cos it wasn't on properly - bit of a blow with an airline and some wet-start and all is peachy... When he'd finished iI heard him say "bl00dy hell, there's an engine under all that oil!" Best comment from him though - they were detailing an utterly immaculate Ferrari 328GTS when I arrived, and so I was drooling all over it (well, near it anyway, didn't want to ruin their work!) - the guy looked at the 'rado and went "nah, I'd have that over the Ferrari anyday..." Top man!
  14. Personally I wouldn't bother - I'd buy a nice clean VR and spend the extra that a Storm would have cost on doing the wheels, suspension, etc, and making it really yours... But yeah, at 21, insurance on a VR will not be fun...!
  15. You can tell it's show season when a thread on car cleaning products reaches 5 pages...! Though I'm going to succumb to this just like everyone else in prep for E38...;)
  16. Looking good as ever Neil...! I see the dilemma about the badge - kinda detracts from the whole stealthy black/white thang you got going on... But then, maybe it needs just that dot of red... but then, i kinda like the clean lines without... but then I did kinda like the yellow fogs... aaaaaaaaaaaargh! Suffice to say I'd love to have a rado that looked as good as that mate, she does you proud either way... 8) Edit: just noticed your single wiper overhanging the edge of the screen - sort it out, it looks untidy...! ;)
  17. I got them once; they're worse than bl00dy gift vouchers though, you can't spend 'em anywhere... Good work on getting the dealers to back down though, gotta be a few red faces all round...!
  18. Ant, aka Banana Man used to have white alloys on his Nugget yellow G60, and damn fine it looked too - try having a look through his Member's Gallery thread...
  19. Hmmm, think I may have to do this on mine too as it looks a tad easy... What colour on an Indian Red Pearl 'rat though - red, black, or silver...?
  20. Keep the white sheet as it's a diffusing filter and helps to spread the light out evenly rather than concentrating it in the middle...
  21. Big-ted, cheers for that, but my control panel is fine - it's the vent flap housing behind the centre of the dash that's the problem... Ta anyways!
  22. Do I not remember seeing this on here a little while ago, but owned by someone else...? Very nice regardless... :)
  23. I found where they're for sale... But don't worry, I won't tell...! ;) They'd look lush and I'm guessing they're rarer than a straight girl at a boarding school... Get 'em... :D
  24. Right, I'm gonna bring this back to life as I'm trying to sort my heater controls out at the mo and urgently need help cause I don't fancy driving to work tomorrow with half the dash missing! The problem is that the gears operated by the lower of the two flap direction cables seem to have jumped teeth, thus causing me to not get the full range of travel. Which of the gears can I pop out of the vent flap housing in order to re-align them, and how do you do it without breaking them...? Cheers guys!
