  1. This is my favourite corrado colour by far and they're as rare as hens teeth in Inca Blue. Could you post more pics of the car please?
  2. Couple of VR6's spotted in Moffat high street today around midday. A blue and green one according to my wife. I went for a look but none around, maybe here to see the rally cars today. Anyone here?
  3. Almost. It's just another BMW 3 series on the road. I love M Coupes and 8 series, those are cars with individuality and character that you could maybe swap a Corrado for. I miss my Corrado like mad. I've got a workhorse Bora diesel that does about 1000 miles to a tank but it's not the same. Joyless. The M3 would be lovely, no doubt about that, but it will be just another M3.
  4. Hmmm... I've tried again and apparently PayPal is unable to verify my card. The same card that my account is under. I've entered all digits correctly and in Manage Subscriptions have enabled this card to be used for Corrado Forum subs, yet when I go through the process via link it says unable to verify card.
  5. So I have my usual triennial subscription drama where my subscription is cancelled as my card has expired. Except I've updated my new card on PayPal. Where have I gone wrong?
  6. I'm not expecting to get these on a Corrado forum, but does anyone have an idea where I may be able to source original rubber mats for a 52 plate Bora? VW only have rear mats and I'd like the complete set. I know that the MkIV Golf is of a similar spec to the Bora would mats from one fit a Bora? I imagine they'd be easier to come by if they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
  7. Wrote one off. I've actually forgotten what it's like to drive a Corrado. Disappointing. What's the script with the smilies? Where do they live?
  8. Red G60, plate; G60 X** yesterday about half two at Battlefield Rd, Langside. Tooted the horn was in a Bora.
  9. Fantastic. Great pics, cheers.
  10. Heheh. Beautiful Moffat, indeed. What a difference from EK, I can tell you. I've changed jobs now, Iain. I'm a Train Driver! Bit of a departure, no pun intended, from casinos but a good one. I can still cast a spell or two though, your Storm wont hang around. David.
  11. When hell freezes over, and a new Corrado is in production, the novelty would be intriguing; Having a new car with a 'Corrado' badge. But that's where it would end. It would be a piece of schit. As has already been mentioned, 'safety' laws would make sure of that. There's no way the car could ever live up to what we all would want, and that is a classy little number that is faithful to its predecessor. A car that looks a million dollars and is stuck together with soggy biscuits. That's what we want. We don't want a well built, class-leading Golf Mk XIV with a new body kit and badge.
  12. Sorry to see you sell up, craigowl. I had a Classic Green Storm until December of last year, when I came off the road in hellish weather and wrote it off. I wish I could buy yours as I know that car's been well taken care of. All the best.
  13. Well it's not very constructive, but all the best with this, beautiful countries and Corrados mix very well. Enjoy.
  14. Very sexy mats, good choice from workmates there.
  15. 27 aint bad is it, overall? Probably about the same as my VR6. £245 for tax is a bit strong though. I do like the look of them.
  16. Cheers. Yeah, good point. I suppose it would be too much outlay for a short space of time, sort of, where the weather's really bad. I think after crashing the VR6 I'm naturally a bit wary of which car to go for now in anticipation of next winter.
  17. The Alfas ok, I used to really like the GTV, not so much now. The interior is a bit special I think, particularly the seats. It beats the Corrado hands down there. But a Corrado in good standard fettle is far superior, externally. It's more handsome, not awkward/chavvy as that Alfa.
  18. Nice Bora, g60greeny. I've been looking at one myself, it's an absolute beaut for the money. I'm just concerned at the tax/petrol consumption. I've seen that the 4motion is a 'K' band car, but on checking this, some 2000 cars are £205 for tax and later ones £245, is that right? The tanks 60ish litres? What MPG can you get from it? Parker's review says 35mpg overall, others say 25? I think a 4 wheel drive could really help me in the winter as the roads I drive are country roads that aren't gritted. Cheers.
  19. Thanks again for the offer. Surprise surprise nothing from ins. co. today, so who knows, maybe they're considering fixing it now? If I go down the route of getting the car back I could definitely do with your help, cheers.
  20. It's a real shame how you've been treated matey. Perhaps if you're able to keep it you will get some of your own spanner time in and learn how things work? I did all that back when I was 18 because I refused to pay some eejit £40 an hour to scratch his head and flick through a Haynes manual. I'm sure if you put out some threads about parts wanted, you may be able to get your car sorted quickly and cheaply with VAG parts, although being a daily might be a bit of a problem. Either way, best of luck. Cheers mate. That's really what I want, to learn how to repair / service/ mod myself. Unfortunately I've neither the time nor space at the moment and the car being my daily just compounds the problem. Where there's a will there's a way though...
  21. Thanks. I've been looking at yours on the sale thread, what a beauty. At the moment I'm not in a position to take it, but it's a hell of a lot of car for the money. Good luck with the sale, it won't hang around long.
  22. They've written it off. The initial quote to fix the accident damage was £1500, then a ramp and VW parts prices hiked that to £2400. I was offered the car and £900. Ehm...no. :nono: The advice I received to not let the car be taken away was spot on. At the time I didn't want to make things difficult for myself as I needed back on the road ASAP but the insurance company file handler made a cant of it and the car was taken to salvage first rather than the 'independent' ( ) engineer it should have been. This has caused an absolute fcuk up of almighty proportions. It is now 32 days since the accident and still I haven't received an offer to replace the Storm, this is due entirely to the ineptitude/ennui/irresponsibility of the insurance company. I should be, , :cuckoo: , receiving an offer tomorrow. I just know it's going to be derisory. It will be very difficult to replace the Corrado if the current market is anything to go by, and I need to get something quickly as the Corrado was my daily. Damn, dealing with insurance companies drains the life out of you. I've had ideas of 4motions, Boras, Passats, Leons, but I don't think I could drive one of these. The idea of driving an everyman car after 6+ years of Corrado ownership is unthinkable. :pale:
  23. Thread of the year. And last year. No question. This is some amazing work, the Corrado is going to be phenomenal when finished (It already is). And you post pics of your Hungarian missus. :2gunfire:
