But Rob, there is huge work to convert it to a 4cyl engine and a STD VR is 200bhp so even a modded G60 isn't much against that, and torque wise the VR has 6cyls to help it spin, poor argument but i know where you are coming from  I'm a great follower of modding engine bits for more power or advantage, however you will see less that the usual benefits knifing the VR crank as it doesn't really impact upon the oil in the sump as some engines do but as long as it's well ballanced ans tuftrided and straightened it will be a benefit Chris

rixy, i meant to say, click on the CC calc in my sig and you can play around with some sizes and it will give you the total cc of the engine in any configuration, i might modify it to work out C/R too, that'll be handy i think for projects such as yours. Chris

Very very nice, erm.....not a daily drive then? Chris

LOL words will do you know  You can't go far wrong with the two you mentioned, Cobra and Toad. Chris

Rob_B, what do you mean, buy a 4cly engine? Rixy, a good machine shop specialising in engine work will do the offset thing but you need to tell them critically what you want and i can't explain as much as i want on here cos text doesn't carry enough explanation. The offset thing is much more complicated and might be more trouble to you than it's worth. You need to find out the cloarence volume of the piston, this is critical then you can work out the C/R you need from there Pi x r2 x h gives you the swept volume then add the clearence volume and divide the clearence volume+swept volume be the clearence volume, this will give you the static C/R and you can work out from there what you need to do. I did a thread, was it this one some time back explaining it much more in depth! Chris

Info, tech stuff etc, blurb you know? Like when you go to a dealer of car, hi-fi etc and ask if they have any blurb on that? It wasn't a slur but a normal expression. Chirs

This is worth a quick read about the 2008 Scrocco Clicky Chris

C&R? Chris

I need a Cobra remote fob if anyone has a spare? I install Cat1 Toad Ai606 for £235 fully certificated if anyone in of near the Northeast needs one. Yalan, i have had the Cobra and the Toad Ai606 and they are both the same apart from the Toad has more scope for accessories like remote boot solenoid dedicated opening and remote start but whom really ends up adding these things? Chris

Crasher, that's a whole lot of blurb, are you copying and pasting this or have you done these things? Chris

well if you follow your own thread, there's a lad offering you one for that purpose! Chris

Phil K, it's fine saying 'use the search' but a lot of people don't get the results they need and to support that i get frustrated with it and i use it plenty and i know what boulian expressions are, thanks Tom, the 'use the search' prod sometimes needs a little more support in the right direction, well done. Education is power, people will learn if there is someone to teach them  Chris

Good Salesman & Good Buyer Thread

Cheers RapidVII, received the antenna today, will put it on and hope it solves my poor reception problem. Chris -
To be honest, it'll be just fine, i had a hell of a job getting mine undone and i've retorqued it to wheel nut type of tension, it's a harmonic balance wheel on the VR6, not sure which engine you are talking about but if it's in there and is stuck, you'll be fine. Chris

This is it and if you get an intercooler you'll have to get the charger to work so hard that you get into belt slip areas and the outlet charged air temps are way up high too so making it false to have the c/r too low too. H8RRA's is 9.8:1 so just under the 10:1 std and it works so well indeed and it has a git big daft Skyline FMIC on aswell. Chris

I'd have thought £10-20 quid but £50 extra's a bit rich is it not? just being realistic and saying what others are probs thinking. Chris

Coolrado, i had a similar experience last month, i have the Alpine flip out head unit and sat nav drive the nav drive is a few years old now and so is the disk so i found that there was a current N099P top of the range DVD sat-nav drive there which is currently £1400 and they wanted £599 but i walked away with it for £250 and got a second free! Chris
-
dunno, we'd need to talk about how far you've got at the time and arrange it with H8RRA as he'd be doing it with me and it is his garage, give me a shout nearer the time and see what we can do. Chris
-
Yeah i hear those vulvas are a c**t to drive! Chris

Well i would like to offer some help but we are in the Northeast, Sunderland. Chris

If you specify what percentage reduction you would like then it can be supplied at approx that range. Chris

Where the hell is Jam sammiches, next to marmalade loaf? You sig doesn't help me answer your question. Chris

I don't think he posts on this forum however, we have run a 2 gasket setup and it worked well however the best one was the EIP spacer gasket that H8RRA is currently using and as we know it's running at 331Bhp so it's reliable. Remember, the lower the C/R is the higher PSI you will have to get the charger to produce to achive the same BHP but will return lower mpg that the higher setup, the choice is yours. Jake whom runs a Golf VR6 got 328 on the Stealth rollers with std C/R. Chris

It's the mount that's altered not the gearstick Kev. The reverse gate is elongated to allow the stick to still be pressed down. Chris

Chris VR6nos replied to double-6s's topic in Members Gallery
So what's the plans for this then, you both have VR6's in various stages of repair so what's the idea behind this. I'd like to see yours get back on the road Gaz before you start an further project. Chris
