The All New Lupo Aero Wiper Conversion Thread!!
Chris VR6nos replied to Supercharged's topic in Exterior
I have some on someone elses car! Meant to take them off but never got round to it, i'm so lazy Chris -
Is that a Golf or a Punto? [comedystatement]and makes it as quick as the £18,995 237bhp front-wheel-drive Vauxhall Astra[/comedystatement] Chris

I had the same situation. I bought the S3 288mm discs with calipers and the discs had wear on them in the form of ripples(high and low bands) from the insie to the outside of the disc. What i did was purposely swap the pads around so they didn't match up and the high area on the pad was on the high area on the disc so they would attempt to flatten/smooth the disc out but all this did to start with was give less than half the contact area it should have and less than the std setup gave! It took over a month, nearly two! to bed in properly but i know what was going on. The pedal was firm after lots of bleeding but the breaking was very poor. They are impressive now though and would not like to revert back to the std setup. I'd suggest you go buy some new pads if concerned but will still need some time to bed in, though may be a better profile for breaking on than the supplied pads especially if not replaced in the same order as the wear dictates. My god! it's 2:24am and i'm watching the WRC after fighting with the neighbours, a bit of fisty cuffs of an evening never did anyone any harm, or did it! Anyway, i watched an Impreza go over a crest and fly in the air but this one went wrong and the back end came right up in the air and landed on it's nose at a hell of a degree, like 45degree nose down at over 100mph! Never seen anything like that before, what a fright he must have had and will remember for the rest of his life! 114mph and Granholm launched over a large crest, Tino the co-driver damaged his back on the landing of a large jump and had to receive treatement which damaged the rest of the days times. Did anyone else see this amazing event? Chris

You'd never want to change back, it's like fitting the charger, when you get it working right you'd feel limp when you took it off and drove the car again! Chris

I import sx200 and the like so have driven a good few of them! The main thing you notice is that they are weak in the engine department only having 4cylinders and the more power you ask of them the worse the drive is, the bennefit of a charged VR is it is a 3Litre to start with and it has 6cylinders then the supercharger which gives instant snap response as long as you are up in the revs and not sitting at 1500rpm and want it to spring into life. One guy up here we got a 200 for made it give "300bhp" but the reallity is that we were going along the A1 and up the bug bank toward the Angel of the North which is a long steep up hill drag and i easilly made a long gap between us! and i only run the StageI kit at 6psi, this factual and with witnesses so i was quite proud, not that he was, he kept saying that i must have used the nitrous but the bottle wasn't even in the car at that time! 200SX is a nice enough car but i love my Corrado and the only one to have is the VR in my opinion but the valver would be lighter for track use! You doing it yourself Lee? Chris

Yeah his car is too nice! Shame i couldn't make it, missed out on meeting friends and new people  Chris
-
well get some new rings in there and it'll be fine Shame you are in Wrexham! Chris
-
Cheese, your project is building potential! Chris
-
Thinners is far thinner than water and would more easily run past the rings. Put new rings in, no big deal, you don't even need to take the engine out the car! Chris
-
God, Yeah thanks for the notice, i'd forgotten! Chris
-
Well it's obvious isn't it! They must be seriously expensive!     Chris

Yip, get saving! Have you been plaing with the chop with your avatar? Chris

I stop the odd C driver up here in the N/E and none of them seem to know of the Forum! Chris
-
Only cos you haven't done the charger kit yet!  Chris
-
But if you don't get a charger then there is a great deal less of a reason to need a diff but with FI they are desperately needed. Chris
