That sounds like a good suggestion. You may be able to wind the return spring round once more so it's more positive. Have you made sure that the TPS is correctly aligned and connectet and there is no break in the wires etc cos if you pull the plug off the TPS the engine will go funny and may stall, try unclupping the TPS while running and see if it makes a difference, if not then there's your problem. I was going to suggest you check the pressure that the copper wiper has onto the copper strip, it gets very hot and this may make the wiper lift and break connection but work later when it cools? Chris

Not a head gasket i wouldn't have thought, but it sound's like it's since you have changed the TB so check all you have touched for cracks etc Chris

but the knock sensor or dizzy don't change the timing, it tells the ECU to change it and it does, just being pedantic. The knock sensor may be contaminated and causing the signal to the ECU to be incorrect perhaps. Don't know too much about the non VR engines though but will watch this one to see how it turns out!. DEL VR6, your statement would have made more sense if you had your age up under your avatar! How old are you now? Chris

corradowales, I run with the grille removed when it's warm weather and the oil temp will drop 20-30 degrees from the temp with the grille in place. Chris

This not new news as it's been kicking around for 3years, i remember from an earlier report that it pre selects the next gear with the second clutch in anticipation of the change so it's fast to change up with you never being able to miss a gear! Stunning spec but not into the two tone finish and the Koenigsegg CCS has been my favourite for a long time with it's screaming superchargers! Chris -
There's a 'Search' button at the top, it will find loads of referrences to charging the VR, loads of mine going back a few years too! Chris

Does your corrado hit the rev limiter in 5th gear ?
Chris VR6nos replied to VWci's topic in General Car Chat
Chrishill i had 160mph out of it a number of times before and after the charger was on it. I've had my VR to an indicated 165mph, oh no, Chris that was that car you have  when i was racing Wayne! andway i never hit the limiter from what i can tell but the needle was off the clock and at least at 165mph and was still creeping, i think it would have reached 170mph if i let it. what does the over used word "ubber" mean? Wire used it a lot a short while ago too! Chris -
The little oil temp sensor has a spade connector on it and is east to check the connection and also cheap and easy to replace and they do sometimes break down, try a new sensor for a few quid, it'll not hurt and is good preventitive medicine! Chris
-
Yes, if i can answer that one if the oracle is busy!  The fans may run for a few mins depending upon water temp obviously and the auxilliary water pump should be buzzing away too to curculate the hot water through the radiator and thus aiding cooling of the sho horned engine into the ickle Corrado! I was driving my 996 a few years ago and left long black marks on the white bits of the zebra crossing on Osbourne road in the posh Jesmond and that was fun, one thing with it was when you slowed down the bloody rear spoiler made a shltty rattle when retracting, i remember phoning H8RRA when i was flying down the coast road doing 150mph in it, those were the days.
