  1. Sounds like one of the door switches is knackered or something...
  2. 3/4 drive socket set is the way forward....
  3. x2, and if you went to the hassle of removing the floor, why did you leave the centre tunnel when a slightly larger one would have accomodated the prop easier?
  4. The gauges just pull out of the pod Dave, you only need remove the front and pull it out and swap over to a new one. Did this on the VR. Didn't fix my issue. Then drove off with my wallet on the roof.
  5. You don't have any vaccum leaks since disturbing the pipework to take the head off?
  6. Blackbush... Look for British Car Auctions.
  7. The centre bore is too small if I remember correctly, you can have it machined to open it out if I remember correctly.
  8. You can just use a hammer to make the oil filter short enough to fit.... :cuckoo:
  9. Only problem with only fitting them to the front is that your rear end might see a bit more action.... I have had the back break out on me a few times in the wet when I've had good tyres up front and shonkey units out back. Dunno if it would be an issue or not, but might be worth considering...
  10. Hang on... Having read that again. Do you mean it flashes for 5 seconds and goes out, doesn't come back on again? Because it's supposed to do that.... It's a self test feature in the clocks.
  11. It flashes to indicate a problem with the level. Is this an issue? Have you got proper coolant in it as pure water confuses the sensor. The sensor or wiring to the sensor could be knackered too... It's not an MOT fail as far as I am aware....
  12. You could try that, with a dose of silicon sealant. Local tractor dealership might have a suitable O ring in a box of tricks. You can also buy alloy rad necks from Gruvenparts. They are shiney, don't break, but do transfer heat and cause nasty burns to careless forearms. I have one. :(
  13. They can be quite tight. I pulled Beigies out last year as I had some big allen keys in my boot. They are funny little items, I don't know if you can clean them in the same way you do electronic injectors. The nozzle (terminology??) opens at 3 bar I believe, and they spray constantly.
  14. Get someone with a laser alignment setup to do it, just tell them how much camber you want when you turn up...
  15. Dave, sorry for not replying to the pm. Been rather forgetful recently. But thanks! Tom.
  16. YOu can't adjust that on a VR, the fueling is controlled by the MAF, throttle position sensor and the Lambda, with the air temp sensor and coolant temp sensor making adjustments.
  17. Know that feeling. If you ever need a cuddle, just give me a shout.... ;) I think it's time for a 12v revival!
  18. Hmmmmmm. Might be worth changing you thermostat. If that is sticking part open then the engine will be running cooler, plus if it takes that long to warm up, then it'll still be hanging around on the cold start map (
  19. get VAG COM on the case. What's the water temp showing?
  20. :( Bummer. Must be very frustrating! Especially when you use someone with supposedly a good reputation. Just reinfoces my point on not trusting anyone else to work on my car. Glad you made a decision. Some things are worth so much more than a corrado...
  21. Yeah, I agree with Mr Wort. I would change your blue temp sender (sender for the ECU) as a first resort. Or at least check they are connected the right way round.
  22. Hehe. I recognise that from somewhere ;) Really good guide though.
  23. Sounds like you were having a mare Dan. If you need any turds posting... You know who to call.
