  1. Yeah, its a bit over a grand, but that includes fitting and the 4 wheel alignment, which isn't too bad really imo.
  2. Just got a price from Vince, stupidly i sold all the spring plates, bump stops and associated bits with my last suspension, thinking i wouldn't need it again. I had bought all those bits new from VW, so need to buy them again to fit springs and shocks. I am pretty certain i am going to go ahead with it.
  3. Think i've gone past the point of caring about the lowness etc, as long as it drives nice i will be happy. After sorting out the noisy engine recently i started thinking there isn't much left to do with the car so may as well finally try to enjoy the ride and get this suspension sorted.
  4. Just spoke to Vince and he recommends the Koni sports shocks with H&R springs. My KW may be fine but too stiff for daily use on what i would consider some of the worst roads in the country. I literally bounce out the seat sometimes
  5. The rear is really stiff and hardly moves, the front seems softer and has a bit of bounce to it. I've always struggled with them, originally had them wound up nearly all the way and car was too stiff with no play in the springs (mostly compressed) so slackened them off and handling got a bit better but the car is a lot lower than i would of had it. (wishbones point up etc) I don't mind getting some new stuff and nothing being wrong with the KW's, i would probably just sell them on anyway.
  6. I think my two front KW1 coilovers have broken, they seem oily on top of the strut (do they have oil in them?) Also car is driving like crap. Am about to ring Stealth racing and want them to supply and fit some new suspension but not sure what to go for now. I want something that is quite robust, the KW's seems a very small unit overall compared to a normal shocks setup. Not sure if coilovers are generally smaller and if that really matters or not? I would happily go with a normal spring and shock setup but the last two i had lowered the car funny amounts. Have been considering the Koni coilovers, but don't want to put something on the car and ruin it with the local roads.
  7. I have already renewed the ignition switch, only a few months back, i started to wonder if the new switch had an issue. but the new battery seems to of stopped all the funny clicking noises from ignition and the fuel pump, etc
  8. Not too hard to do either. I just put a little mark on the chain and each sprocket and made sure they lined up again. Left the sprockets attached to cams. I keep listening for the noise but has deffo gone now.
  9. Just been to a battery place and had mine tested, was only showing 122 cold cranking amps, Aren't they meant to be around 700. Bought a new battery while i was there, will fit it tonight. Car only just started when leaving the battery place, think his little tester took some of my electricity away.
  10. Fitted my Roose top hose at the weekend, i like the little 3 way split as it helps when allowing for the mk4 header tank conversion, no need to extend a hose, can just use one single length of longer hose to the T piece.
  11. I did read that in the manual i had, but from fitting them to being ready to start the engine takes me longer than 30mins, have to refit quite a lot of stuff, Manifold with throttle body etc, coilpack, aux water pump, HT leads and the engine covers . I actually fitted them saturday and started car sunday, so plenty of time. I submerged them in a tray of oil while i removed the old ones, had read that tip somewhere.

    Holes in sills

I had my hole welded up and didn't bother with the bolt for wing. When i was putting the sealant/glue down the edge of wing i just carried it on around the bottom, and its held fine.

Is that pic taken with a front wing off? Is a hole right at the front for the underside of wing to bolt to., mine totally rusted away.
  14. I almost headbutt the windscreen using my dads audi brakes. Just a slight touch and you really notice the brake clamping on. Corrado does feel weird but you get usef to it. When I bled mine I went round in the order you have. I remember pumping the brake with the ezi bleed connected then bleeding again and something seemed to work alot better.
  15. Finally got round to fitting new lifters this weekend. Used INA ones and noise now gone. No more embarrassing drives through a busy town trying to keep revs and tappy noise down. Pretty happy now.
  16. I am about to replace a samco with a roose hose. Bought the two rad hoses as my samco one has split inside and been a right ****ter. Leaking everywhere.
  17. I was going to go on dragons den with the idea.
  18. Should be one in the radio loom.
  19. Will double check mine then. Was playing with it the other day.
  20. I could probably drawn it up from a photo if the photo was square on and i had one dimension
  21. Mine has power all the time
  22. Am sure we could work out some brackets if need be, i have CAD and an A1 printer. Can't see the design being rocket science.
  23. I already have it, its much better than those bits of rubber.
  24. I reckon leather and stitched all over with diamond shapes would look a bit fancy. Might start feeling a bit like some sort of leather fetish dungeon tho.
