  1. Sorry, think i looked at an older pic of a different engine you had with the late tensioner on it. What about the small green O-ring, Was that there, quite easy to loose or have it fall out? I have quite a lot of timing spares as well if you need anything.
  2. See if putting the clutch down while driving makes it go away or not, can be a good way to dismiss the gearbox
  3. Thought i may as well ask on here as well, seeing as most corrado owners have other vags etc Got a 2005 Audi A3, BKD 2.0 Tdi engine. Had the engine management light come on a few weeks back, Vagcom'd it and told me: 1 Fault Found: 16567 - Fuel Temp. Sensor A (G81) P0183 - 000 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent Freeze Frame: RPM: 756 /min Torque: 54.0 Nm Speed: 13.0 km/h Load: 0.0 % Voltage: 13.98 V Temperature: 23.4°C Temperature: 38.7°C Temperature: -37.8°C Bought the new part, fitted it and cleared the code. All sorted. Then the last couple of days the light come back on and also can't turn the air con on (ECON) button stays lit up. Scanned it tonight and got: 3 Faults Found: 19557 - Motor for Intake Manifold Flap (V157) P3101 - 000 - Open or Short to Ground Freeze Frame: RPM: 1155 /min Torque: 130.0 Nm Speed: 26.0 km/h Load: 26.3 % Voltage: 14.14 V Bin. Bits: 11000011 Temperature: 86.4°C Duty Cycle: 9.6 % 19558 - Motor for Intake Manifold Flap (V157) P3102 - 000 - No Signal Freeze Frame: RPM: 0 /min Torque: 0.0 Nm Speed: 0.0 km/h Load: 0.0 % Voltage: 12.31 V Bin. Bits: 00000100 Torque: 0.0 Nm Torque: 354.0 Nm Readiness: 1 2 0 0 0 Closed bonnet and did something else instead. Car seems to drive fine, used to be a bit juddery in the morning before the fuel temp sender and that's gone away. I do notice that after a journey and turning engine off it seems to shut off with quite a jump, bit more sudden than it was (a bit like if you stall it). Could it be an earth issue? All i could see under bonnet that caught my eye was a very small amount of oil around the turbo, seems to blow a bit onto the alternator.
  4. Is it definitely a later style bolt. As I know a mix of the older and newer stuff doesn't work properly. It fits but doesn't push the pad bit properly so can sit a bit weird. I just bought both them parts from vw this week. About £55.
  5. Found them, already fitted so not got to worry
  6. I'm terrible with motor bikes. They all look the same to me. I have a friend with a few old kawasaki motorbikes but I struggle to see why some are better than others etc. Looks good fun building a bike though.
  7. It has got all the other core plugs fitted so I guess these are already there. Going to check after having dinner.
  8. I find it strange people decide to renew on the 1st of October, idiots. Mine also ran out at the end of September but did it a couple of days in advance as usual, had no issues with the site.
  9. I wonder if i need to fit them or not
  10. Another one, noticed a part on the engine block diagram and didn't know what they were so ordered them anyway. Got them today and still not sure what they are, described a "plug" and part no: 113-101-115-A and shows up on the VR6 engine block diagram as item 7. I thinking it might be some sort of core plug, i bought a new engine block and not sure if these came fitted. Will have a look tonight but unsure where to look. Pics^^^ 5p for scale.
  11. Its also good for de scaling the kettle, the de scaler packs you buy are also usually just citric acid with a brand name on the pack
  12. How exicting! Should make cars look a bit cleaner. Anyone collecting them? I thought about collecting pub ashtrays when they banned smoking but never bothered.
  13. A caliper i did Can take a few days and a few changes of solution but minimal effot, you just drop it in and leave it, i would take it out each day and give it a quick wire brush and wipe to help it.
  14. I also heard deox gel is just citric acid mixed with wall paper paste or similar.. I never got on with the gel, found it too messy and hard to keep moist.
  15. Think I have some. Could only buy a 1m. Will post you a bit if you send me an address. I used some tube from a lawn mower as a temp repair. But think the stuff I bought is more like the original.
  16. I have a funny feeling i saw something like that in my engine bay years ago and pulled it out thinking it was something someone had dropped in there, am going to check it now
  17. Little tip for you, just go on ebay and buy the food grade citric acid, its exactly the same stuff, but half the price. I've got through quite a few tubs over the years. I always buy from this seller. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1kg-Citric-acid-food-grade-Top-quality-/140426902395?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Food_SM&hash=item20b2187b7b
  18. yeah, thats the pipe, will check it when i get home for signs of 0-ring.
  19. I've found its worth checking oil cooler and the oil filter housing as leaks from these seem to quickly find their way into the groove where the oil meets the block and just tracks it way all around.
  20. Got a new oil pump and some diagrams show a gasket between the pickup pipe and the pump. Been to VW and it says no longer availiable. Am sure i've read somewhere that some people don't fit a gasket at all. Do i make myself one from some sort of gasket sheet of stuff you buy? Can't remember seeing one when i took old engine apart.
  21. The shocks are made by sachs. Vr has sachs advantage shocks. I found them online for sale. Am sure there are sellers on eBay if you wanted to buy new. From memory rear shock were about £34 each. So not to bad really.
  22. Decided to buy a dial gauge so I can measure my cams to see if they are bent and causing lifter noise.
  23. I have some solder to cut off in that case  Will be ordering some of those, think its only the wires to the senders on oil filter housing i've had to repair.
  24. Hello and welcome, corrado looks nice. I've never been a fan of the numberplate shape though in the US, really doesn't suit the corrado. It is legal to have them European style?
