Seen that on piston heads. Looks pretty low. Didn't you have one I that colour before?

I sold a book of the raffle tickets to a work mate because he really wanted the breitling watch prize. He didn't win and went out and bought one after that.

Got the clips from hcl today. Am sure I haven't got the order quite right. Think I should of got more of larger ones. Quality seems good. Not got the tool yet though. I will work out the best combination of sizes. Will no doubt need to order some more.

Hi, Any photos of the wings? -
I binned my originals

I did buy my jubilees from a boat/marine place so good stainless steels. But must admit, i've had them either pop off or cut the hoses.
-
I'm happy to use jubilees on things like the maf and some of the smaller hoses. Something i do remember doing in the past was placing a jubilee clips over the prongs of the spring clip and tightening that until it squeezed the clip, Did work but pings off quite easily.

Jim Bowen replied to Jim Bowen's topic in Parts for Sale
I thought there was a way of fitting a late grill to an early car. -
I did a search on here and found a list i made before when buying the jubilee clips  Will make a better list when i fit the new ones, showing what goes where etc. This is the list from before, not sure how correct it is, seem to recall not having enough or having too many. 13mm (2x required) 15mm (1x required) 23mm (1x required) 27mm (8x required) 30mm (2x required) 39mm (2x required) 46mm (2x required)

Nah, only got late stuff. -
Am still weighing up whether to buy a PAS pump from VW. Does the steering feel any different with a new pump? I know yours was noisy and that was the main reason for changing.
-
Thanks for replies, ordered loads of clips from that HCL Clamping website and ordered the tool on the extension lead type affair from eurocarparts (40% off at the moment)

Just something i noticed, may be of use to some others too. 25% off everything at GSF using the code AUG25 Until the end of the month.
-
That'll do me, thanks, don't really fancy going to the dealer anymore. Is there a tool to make getting them on and off a bit easier. I used mole grips in the past
-
I've done that and run draught excluder down the sides of the wings. It's just a waterproof foam seal about 3-4mm high. Does stop the battery getting wet. Would like to find something clear though. I just did it one day without looks in mind. Used double sided stuff and still have the paper on one side so looks gash.

If your taking konis off then they come with their own custom parts at the top as the koni stuff is wider. You just need the bits with holes in from a standard vr. Think it's a couple of inch long metal sleeve and the two dished washer each side. Rubber mount bits are the same. Also the nuts are different sizes too.
-
Look out for the vr6 boots as well.

I want to get rid of my jubilee clips and go back to the springy type clamps (for water hoses etc) Is there anywhere to buy them online? And does anyone know how many and what sizes are needed. I spent quite a bit on stainless jubilees but have had problems with leaks and damaged hoses.

Are mk4 front calipers the same as the mk3 ones then?

When i was about 18yrs old, around 1999-2000, i watched a thing and said to invest any spare money in gold. Wish i had done that, but didn't have much spare money at that age. I think buying a house made of gold and renting it out would be the best thing to do.

What's wrong with the factory one?
