  1. Was not sure wher to put this but as you could call having a head rebuild servicing i put it here. For anyone who does not know whenever any work is done on my car it usually involves lots of swearing loads of time and more importantly not enough time to go down the pub at a sensible time. Basically when taking off my exhaust manifold two of the bolts snapped in the head followed by **cking **it, W***ker thats the last time i work on this heap of sh*t ( meaning my car ) This mearnt that the head had to come off and a replacement parts were required. Lucky for me 16vG60 had all of the required parts. A BIG thankyou to John for undertaking this job on sunday so that i did not have to take the train home. Plus john said that the cylinder head and and pistons were is reasonable nick for the milage that they had done.
  2. Check out the link and put in VW then Corrado http://www.topgear.com/content/carknowledge.jsp
  3. if you can find how much power the led requires you could get a new blanking plate from vag and get an aftermarket led drill a hole wire up and there you go. I am at this point in time changing my clifford red alarm leds in door pin surrounds and dash leds to blue ones to go with the dash lighting.
  4. That noise of the wine on the recording is the tooth belt drive with a boost blow off valve when changing gear. Will someone correct me if i am wrong buy having a boost blow off valve dont you get a fine mist of oil being spat arround the engine bay.
  5. i have the fk konisports from richard at venom. height and dampering adjustable they transformed the ride of the c from the knackered standard suspension. talk to 16vG60 i think he has a deal with richard at the moment. also dont forget different bolts are required to attach lowered suspension to take into account height adjustment.

    Suspension

Cant tell from picture whether they are dampering adjustable which is the real key getting a comfortable ride once you have lowered your car. be a bit careful referance my supersport problems with a cheaper range of suspension. :This is just my 2 pence worthg . remember when you fit them you will need to buy the different bolts from vag which are made for the fitting of lowered suspension
  7. Thinking about getting and rs2 intercooler fitted to front of my C and changing the bumper for a RS type of bumper. What do these bumpers come with :- 1 Any berackets for fitting of the indicators and fog lights??? 2 Ironwork to secure the bumper to the car??? 3 Will I have to buy late style lights or will the early ones fit???

    Suspension

I have to say that unlike some people on this forum i had a complete nightmare with supersport coilovers which a bought from venom for about £400. They bounced all over the place and rebounded three or four times before settleing down and i would get headaches after about an hour driving. First of all i throught a must have bought a friday afternoon set but Richard (Venom Motorsport) exchanged the set. The new set was just the same, so after a few phone calls the venom arranged an upgrade to FK Koni height adjustable and dampering coilovers which were more expensive £700 but the ride quality is excellent and i am not now worried when travelling over uneven ground catching the front of the car. In my oponion be a little careful on the coilovers which you buy as some of the cheaper ones have been designed for Mk2 golfs which are a lot lighter than C's so the handerling suffers
  9. Fitted by john in april. i have not stopped smiling yet.
  10. They were selling them at inters for £20 a pop (GPC). I got a set of 4 cause i am sure mine are going to get nicked or lost soon

    suspension

Do the top mounts when you do the suspension. I run the FK/Koni setup on a set of 15" which are height and dampening adjustable, the ride is wonderful and corners like a dream. Very nice kit and venom motorsport did me a good deal after my problems with supersport coilovers. Remember you will have to get the car set up after fitting ( laser alinged ) otherwise the camber will be out and you will eat tires. Costs between £30 - £50.

    Heater/fan

I found just after i had bought my C that the fan kept cutting out like it had a mind of its own. It was the fan motor which was duff as when i took it out and moved it arround the fan would start up for a couple of seconds and then die again. Worn brushes or a worn out motor, Money was short at that time after just buying the car so i went down to a scrappy and found a mk2 golf and had the motor out of there. All i had to do was change over the small board from one to another to allow for the different connectors of the mk2 golf and the corrado. Oh also a went to maplins and bought a couple of thermal resistors and put new one in. When this one dies a will probably buy a VAG one, but it has worked now for over a year and only cost me a tenner. Cheers Woody

    Oil Temp

I was following 16vg60 up to inters on friday night doing about 85 mph trying to keep up with him. I had checked my oil before and after the run and i was getting at 70mph oil temp of 104 but at 85 it was nearer 116 - 120. I have an oil cooler installed behind the front grill should i be worried !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. It has to be my blue tooth belt drive gives me such a smile when booting the C and also the Oil cooler just as i know that i am perlonging the life of my engine with a small amount of dosh outlay
  17. Might be worth moving this to common questions as more and more C owner are changing their lights to after market ones.
  18. Ok what i have is on each light there are some wires from the bulbs These are 5 wires : Black & White x 2 Green & Yellow Green & Red Green Now on the connector which need to be cut off there are on the offside : Brown Black & Red Black & Grey Black & White And on the on the nearside there are : Brown x 2 Black & Red x 2 Black & Grey Black & green Could someone expalin which wire goes where please ?
  19. Also make sure when checking the oil that the plastic sleve is still on the dip stick as it meets the block, i think mine orange. As if this is missing you will be getting an incorrect reading and could be risking damage to your engine.
  20. Cheers for the hard work tempest contracted corrad-kidd we will try to do a swap before inters. Thankyou again for for doing this group buy
  21. Just received my set of in-pros but i have received a set of clear - red type when i ordered a smoked set. Anybody else got an incorrect set from there order. Cheers Woody
