  1. Welcome Lucy.....Be prepaired for a fight with the front bumper bolts, if they have never been opened they will almost certainly be very hard to get out..mine took me the best part of a couple of hours to remove ! :( .If they are quite rusty you will need new ones from the dealers, but if not to bad then a good wire brushing should suffice....Remember to copper grease the bolts before re-fitting :thumbleft: .
  2. Black dealer ones with Corrado on both front mats....863 VAG 141 8B J. Bought a set last month, very happy with them.
  3. Never knew this thread existed ! only been on three years !!!! So better pop a pic on....this was actually took last night just before we went to a school reunion. Me and the missus.
  4. Very good yan...Yes many thanks for sharing it chap.
  5. Thanks for the replies guys and the offer to do the brakes KipVR, very nice of you....i think i need new or second hand calipers because the bleed nipples have seized solid so thats next on the list..... but surely both belts and a dampner should only be a 30 min job for a fully trained vw mechanic ?
  6. Right then guys!! Need some help. I am so mad with myself and don't know how to deal with it. On Thursday I spoke to the dealers about getting my serpintine charger belt fitted. ( I had already purchased both the serpintine and power steering belts and the charger tensioner - 037145299) We got into a disagreement as they stated that it would be a 3 1/4 hour job just to change the serpintine belt - at £66 (reduced rate per hour - usual price is £99) this is no laugh! I spoke to my friend in the parts section who said that he would speak with the mechanic directly. The result of which was that I was to go in at 08.30 this morning for the job to be done (as well as brake fluid change ) as a backhander for the set price of £100. I sat there, in the company of my 5 year old son, for 2 1/4 hours (yes I know this was stupid) when he finally arrived, apologising for oversleeping due to being out on the pop last night, he completed the work (omitting to change the brake fluid due to the bolts being seized) in 1 hour and 10 mins and charged me £100. I was so shocked and angry that, like the twat that I am (as my wife has repeatedly told me since discovering the details) I handed over the money, and now have no paperwork to prove what has happened and am definately out of pocket(not to mention being in the dog house at home.) In a nutshell - I have been had!! Can anyone please offer a sensible solution to my dilemma as in my current state of rage - violence (which is unusual for me) seems the preferable option. Many thanks Chris.
  7. Thanks to junkie for the offer, we have spoken via pm.
  8. Yes it is, Darren at G-Werks did it when i had my charger rebuilt with 68mm pulley and chip.
  9. Hi all, I need a little bit of advise please..... At the last stealth rolling road day my bhp figures were down due to my charger belt slipping badly (as Vince pointed out) the last time i had it changed was about 14 months ago, i now have a new one ready to put in but i was wondering whether to change the belt tensioner-dampner as well for good measure ? as it could be part of the reason it is slipping........part number 037 145 299. Cheers Chris.
  10. Merry Christmas to all you guys at G-Werks......thanks for all your help and hard work this year with my pride and joy.....much appreciated......and i'm looking forward to a couple of trips down to you for work in 2008....top people (Thank you Thank you :notworthy: :notworthy: . Have a nice rest, get nice and merry and enjoy the festive period with the little ones in your life.
  11. They look very nice andy...nice touch.
  12. Weekends for me (done 7000 miles in three years)......it's not seen any rain in the last two years !
  13. No probs, glad your happy with it......Although that fit looks s**t !..... Matt any chance you could make some accurate paper templates up to send to steve at noisekiller :?: Because there is no way i would pay good money for those with fitting like that (i'm fussy like that as i'm sure many of you are) We need this sorting if we are going to be buying a few. The Early type is spot on mind, so were half way there.
  14. It makes a massive difference, much better than the original foam sound suppressing wise....a big plus especialy for the G60 with the charger humming all the time.......obviously it cleans easily so no probs with oil on it like the original stuff...looks good too. I highly recommend it.
  15. No problem, I like to help where i can, if it wasn't for the help of the good people on this forum i'm quite sure i would not have my Corrado today. :thumb right:
  16. Right guys, just put the six names in a hat and my missus picked one out and the winner is ***MATTNORGROVE*** Thanks to the others for entering. Mattnorgrove pm'd.
  17. Welcome ! Lots of hours of reading on here pal........Ps Quote -Thanks in advance lads don't forget the gals :) !!
  18. Thought i was going to read a thread on Ipswich Town F.C there !!.... I'm a big town fan ! Up the town !!! :thumb right: promotion this year to the prem.
  19. I should say it's the best available without doubt. very very happy with it.
  20. Yes they can be a bugger to get out if they have been in a while, a long good fitting screwdriver and a few taps on the screwdriver with a hammer while it's on the screw head should free it. replace with new screws covered in copper grease.
  21. After looking around for quite some time for a good quality under bonnet foam (As the original early foam is now obsolete from the dealers) this product was recommended to me by a friend who has it on his car. http://www.noisekiller.co.uk I enquired how much it would be, as they have templates ready made for most cars, but they only had a template for the later style corrado TOP PICTURE (this is not noisekiller in the top picture, it is just used as an example of the shapes.....i'm pretty sure it's dynamat/hoodliner. I offered to send him the early style templates taken from measurements from my G60 and he said he would send me a set free of charge in return for me checking it for accurate fitting (Wow very nice :thumb right:) . Obviously these were millimeter perfect based on the templates that I did BOTTOM PICTURE2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfLater style.jpg[/attachment:h473nhlb]Noisekiller 030.JPG[/attachment:h473nhlb] I am very impressed with this product, they fit perfectly and have made a big difference in noise reduction. They have a very strong self adhesive and look great as well as being easily wipeable. The price for the noisekiller is £50.00 and £9.00 P&P. HOWEVER - Steve the owner said he would do it for £40.00 for Corrado forum members - plus he can actually send out 10 sets for the £9.00 p&p charge, so if you live close to someone who would also like this product you could share the postage. Steve as also sent me a set free for the later style to check for accurate fitting which i still have....so i'm going to give this to someone on the forum free. Obviously whoever I sent it to needs to post pics and comments of it on this thread,i will send this out registered post as to ensure delivery,if you want to send me the £5.00 postage feel free but if not don't worry about it. I have been trying to work out how to do this fairly  the only way that I can come up with that seems totally fair -is for interested members to put their name down on this thread before 2pm on tuesday 6th November (as i will post it at 3pm on this day) I will then allocate each one a number and use a random number programme between 1 and how ever many interested parties there are. I will notify the "winner" in this post as well as the list of people who showed their interest. I hope this seems fair to you good folk and I look forward to reading your replies. Cheers Chris. 1. 22. I would look at a car with no history, weather i would buy it or not is another question. Being a regular/obsessed forum member i quite know my stuff now so i know the proper check procedure on the corrado, i guess it comes down to a simple choice.....get busy living or get busy dying.............................OH sorry thats the shawshank.....what i meant to say was ...i would weigh up how much it would cost to put it right and make it into a decent motor. :thumb right:
  23. Very nice Yan, the only colour i would swap my Aqua blue for......always wanted a nugget...time yet !!....she''s in good hands :thumb right:
  24. I don't know what will clean them the best but i do know what will keep them in there best condition/away from the winter elements.....Jetseal 109..... best product going for wheels.
