  1. just so you're not surprised, I dont think you've been able to get them for that price for at least 18 months, but you are still right, its the best part of £800 for Koni/H&R, although for that you are getting adjustable damping as well which you dont get with the V1s. The V2s that you do get it with are now the best part of £1k so for adjustable damping it is still a "cheaper than good coilovers" option if you are happy with the ride height. Personally I would prefer some more drop over the H&Rs as 30mm just isnt quite enough in terms of looks or poise imo, but my cat guard would point to the amount of times its needed rewelding after scraping over speedbumps and disagree with me..
  2. makes you wince a bit  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWxcJDONE_U
  3. Video of a lap of Daytona from the inside of an M3's front wheel arch, sounds good too!
  4. are you doing the work yourself? there is a trade off between home-constructing a VR6T set up from scratch compared with a pre-designed turbo spec lifted out of an existing VAG car. if you're not doing it yourself the labour involved in the former may well balance out the higher cost of the latter. tbh the fact that you already have a vr6 engine and box wouldnt be a factor for me as in the scheme of things they are worth less than 10% of the cost of the project and, unless they've been rebuilt to a high spec, are commodity items. i would worry about the maintenance of a complex DSG gearbox arrangement which is going to be worked hard in a race car. i'm sure it would be a great set up but if money is an ongoing concern then it seems like a risk to me. can you just get a normal manual gearbox set up to go with the engine? that would save on the budget i would assume and would be easier to DIY maintain. also saves the weight you mention along with the smaller engine being better positioned for weight distribution as you say. more pros than cons for the 2.0T for me but it depends on the ultimate power you want. frankly 350bhp in a stripped out corrado is going to make for a pretty good set up unless you really want to be the fastest thing there. /non-experts opinion
  5. yup, i know what you mean, i dont do it that way but the assumption that you've "finished" your session as soon as you surf away from a Forum page is very different from how it worked before where the same session could last several days on my laptop if i didnt close it.
  6. yes, although i'd still want to push them on the actual rates as i know some people have thought they do feel harder. i wonder whether that could be down just to the fact that they are a noticeable drop from standard and so its the reduced travel giving an effect too?
  7. that page doesnt work so well but the rest are pretty good, but take a while to load.
  8. you need to brush up on your ham knowledge if you want to be able to make an educated decision in any CF poll!

    Wheel nuts / WD40

yeah, as above, the standard wrench isnt particularly long and leverage is half the battle. I bought one of these which i just keep in the car which helps a lot, but any long bar would help!
  10. Ha! Glad you had a good time, I had a feeling there might be some more exciting stuff turn up as soon as they made it open-pitlane, "novice" day or not! What tyres are they by the way? I know you said they're nearly dead, but they dont look to be flexing too much, or at least the sides seem fairly flat as they are? Dont know if thats just the pictures though.
  11. i'd be very surprised if they sold little clips like that separately given their general approach to parts. tbh i'd ask someone who's replaced some smashed fogs if they can send you the bit you need from their old ones.

    Tps

You would need to be a member of the CCGB if they were going to do something on other people's behalves though. OTOH i suspect the business the club would generate wouldnt justify much of an effort on TPS's behalf though (although they're chicken and egg arguments in a way). I've bought as an individual from TPS in the past as they didnt seem bothered about me trying to register in the name of a corrado club. I think different branches have different levels of fussiness over who they'll sell to, but just go in and tell them what you're after would be my suggestion? I dont think actual membership gets you anything apart from account buying etc.
  13. yup, from me too actually, then got distracted and forgot to say!
  14. fair do's, she's probably worth hanging onto then :)
  15. i also happen to have an unused set of those lying around if anyone is interested in them.. :D
  16. Camskill. And they've gone up now, with more rises to come too.
  17. wish they'd stop being rude about the Azev A's on Hammond's car - I wanted a 325 with Azev As before I even knew what a Corrado was!
  18. its just held in with two of those little blue attaching clips so just very gentle levering with something without damaging the paint is all you need.
  19. i think the guy who posted it might be a bit of a clue ;) with added soft porn sountrack too though!
  20. they seem to be in 15s but not in 17 on camskill anymore - mytyres still has them though. as for alternatives at not too high a price then if you dont want toyos it looks like Hankook Ventus V12 Evo are the next best midrange tyre, or the rainsport, but it seems like all prices are going up quickly so shop around soon before it gets worse! locking this up now though as its veered into tyre thread territory :)
  21. i thought it had come up before Andi but i cant find it, can we still do attachments in PMs? cheers
  22. shauns VRT wasnt on that much more than that when he sold not so long ago. probably over 20k now though with a new owner.
