  1. If your car is pre-March 1992, the rack from a Mk2 16v Golf will fit.
  2. Like I said earlier, that's because the mounting points are under the one-peice seat - to the rear of the centre-tunnel trim. You need the 2-peice rear bench to fit the centre arm rest...
  3. Dr-mat - I have a set of UJs, but they are the pre-'92 small-spline type. Steering rack for the VR6 is common to golf gti,16v and vr6...
  4. 2 possibilities: The seal around the fresh-air inlet has perished and is leaking; The waterproof memrane in the door is torn or missing. I'm guessing he means the "pollen filter" fitted to some Corrados as an optional extra.
  5. The mounting points are to the rear of the tunnel trim - between the 2 rear seat cushions. If you have a one-peice rear seat base, you won't be able to fit the centre arm rest...
  6. Wot rubber seal??? There isn't one on the Corrado roof. At all...
  7. The one on Sunday? Yes. I have a set of UJs (I think) which I'd part with.
  8. There's a tab on the end og the fusebox cover that slots into it. It slots on to some bits on the driver's footwell that are easily visible if you take the fusebox cover off.
  9. Handle and mech. About 30 minutes a side if you don't hit a problem.
  10. Yes - it's the front mounting for the fusebox cover.
  11. 1st, check the bulbs...
  12. 4-cylinder cars when lowered with 17" wheels tend to "tramline". This gets worse if they are a little nose-down on the suspension settings. But check the front wishbone and rear axle bushes 1st.
  13. Okay - how much for these and the quickshift?
  14. Front springs and dampers are the same, rear springs are different.
  15. My "other" VR6 was at 160k when I sold it. The original one is at 132k. Both silent...
  16. Of course, if you really want the street-cred that goes with this particular mod you must remember to fit the illuminated washer jets
  17. Maybe you also need 357 959 855 B. Or make me an offer on my spare - given that the car goes on Saturday...
  18. The bulb for the heater light is behind the centre dial on the later type controls. Not sure about early type. The lighter bulb clips into the back of the lighter socket on both early and late cars
  19. He is one of the Moderators for this Forum, so guess why he keeps chivvying you... :D
  20. I ended up using a hammer and chisel...
  21. The front panel is bolter to the front wings, the ends of the chassis legs and the front cross member - a total of 12 bolts. It isn't structural so removing it won't do anything to the car. It's easier to remove if you take the bumper off 1st, and it's by removing this that you put the car in a state where it shouldn't be driven (even though it's still safe to work on).
  22. Ask for 535 803 093 " Bracket - battery" at a VW dealership.
  23. Battery moving around and damaging the paint, battery leaking a little plus all the salt etc that gets into this area around the headlight is the cause. The replacement panel is less than £40 from VW (last checked 2 years ago mind), but fiting it is likely to be expensive as the front of the car will have to come apart. Having the existing tray cut back to sound metal and a patch welded in (then properly painted/seam-sealed etc should last a long time.
