Is your Corrado the most unreliable car you've ever owned?
KIPVW replied to Jay2's topic in General Car Chat
A Pleasure mate  But ask yourself this! Would you really be happy with anything half its age? Would it have a heart like a Corrado? so many questions like this I and everyone else can ask to make owning a C justifiable  Yeah they have problems now and then but then it makes us appreciate them more when they are behaving themselves. -

Very nice work there Pete, a real credit to you for taking the time to write such informative posts too if you dont mind me saying. Really hope it all goes smoothly for the finishing touches :) -
I have to say mate i'm quite happy with the standard look but just thought if lowering 30mm max it'd be ok but i think i'm gonna keep the old springs on instead of messing with what handles well as it is.
-
The vibra technics mount is around the same price as a standard mount mate so much better to fit one of these anyway! The vw one is a large rubber bush that has a hole drilled through it, not moulded as often thought so as you guessed it can be an obvious week spot. I bought mine from C&R in Nottingham, who arranged delivery direct from the manufacturers and it arrived in 3 days  didnt take too long to fit but you need to jack up the engine a bit to release pressure on the mounting to be able to remove it. Do it mate you will not regret it!
-
Cheers 3corsameal, you have basically just confirmed what i think about all this lowering malarky Lol! at the end of the day VW spent hundreds of thousands developing the suspension for the best compromise so why change it! Thanks for your comment :)

Hi Mate, as toad says stick with the VW top mounts but as for the front engine mount i would strongly recomend a vibra technics version as it really does transform the feel of the car!
-
Yeah so i understand mate, but they drop the car around 40mm is that too much for the bilstein B4's ?????
-
Sorry but looks loke an add on for a dyson to me Lol!
-
Am now thinking of lowering the car slightly as it does look really high, so what do you recomend? how about weitec springs? about £70 for the set. Would these be ok with the bilstein B4 shocks i have? Thanks!
-
Well i'm still having a problem with this, have checked all the wiring on the doors and rear hatch and all loks good but as soon as i fit a fuse it blows instantly :( Any ideas anyone? may have to go to an auto trician if not.
-
Me neither mate but i like it! especially if its only on one of them! will have to start looking round at shows now Lol!
-
Oh Man you've got it bad Lol!
-
Dont push too hard though with the seal as you can easily bend the actual panel if you aren't too carefull.
-
Think i'll bring mine down for you to play with Lol! wax on wheels now thats dedication but i know too well how much it protects them.
-
Looks stunning Andy, the wheels are like lookin at diamonds or sumat  very different :salute:
-
Wow look very nice indeedy mate, always lifts the car's look if you ask me! cant beat new wheels  did you get them engraved then or did they come like that? must have missed that one.

Looking good Pete  I always like looking at your posts as they are full of pics to help the numpty's like me understand  Nearly finished now though so hope it comes together as planned. Kip :notworthy: -
Nice one Walesy, I'd love one of these and tootle off to france every year and park up a mountain to watch the tour go by  As for lowering it :cuckoo: ya cant drive across a muddy field if you do decide to use it for camping in which i know you intend to  On tarmac maybe but for camping????? I think not anyway :ignore:
-
Seem to have sorted this issue now by bending the arms (where they are already bent) more towards the screen and bingo  guess the linkage is getting a little worn too me thinks!
