  1. Hi Andy, wish i knew who you were as its funny chatting through a screen! I was runner up to the Mk2 Scirocco which was on the very end of the line so was very pleased, a little more work to do to Judiths yet though but i'm sure she'll be whooping me soon
  2. Yeah familiar with the santa cruz brand but dont know much else about them! We sell racelight frames where i work and are an excellent choice for an all round bike let alone just for winter weather use. :?
  3. Hi mate, as Jude says but the colnago is a C40 with Dura Ace throughout and Ksyrium ES wheels, A fantastic ride it really is and runs rings round people on the descents wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Also the now second best bike is the concorde squadra with columbus genius tubing (very light steel) with Ultegra bits on. and the fort winter commute with all sorts of shimano on and Mavic Aksium wheels and i have an old mountain bike which i dont use that much now unless it snows  How bout you?
  4. I agree completely, I can't help thinking that most people choose silver now because of resale values... think silver really suits rados, quite possibly #2 on my list after blackberry. You gonna buy RXs for it Kip?! :D :nono: Stop it you evil minx  you know i'd love some but not sure if i can justify them on a daily but i keep thinking of ben's (ex osv) car with them on MMMMmmmmm Nice!
  5. LOL. Oh well guess I will have to wait a year then  Could arrange something for October i guess.
  6. Cheers andrew! How's your new addition coming along?
  7. There's 4 on our drive Lol! I Normally organize a yorkshire meet or two throughout the year but i've been so busy moving house and all it has had to take a back seat but will get some sorted for next year for sure.
  8. Looks very nice Andy, lucky lady! :norty:
  9. Ah good luck with it mate, a few sleepless nights beckon then if you are anything like me  Let me know how you get on with the chrome badge too as i'd like one also!
  10. can you still buy them from VW? NOT A CHANCE GUYS! Chrome ones are now obsolete but try arz tuning website in germany for a good replica.
  11. Too tight then mate! I did the same a while back, tbh they are good kits but really only meant to be used a couple of times and the seals go after a bit, I called Gunsons and they sent me another 2 new ones out and i've not had any more probs, I also bleed at a much higher pressure than they say - 20-30PSI and as Kip said, no probs at all bleeding ABS or non ABS cars / clutches etc... just wish they'd make a heavy duty kit for about £50 which held more fluid / longer hose etc Great work Mr Kippax, it's nice knowing it's all brand new and your not going to have to hit that area of the car again for a while! 8) Talk about irony, thought i'd do my VR brakes too as a pre Germany thing and had quite a bit of trouble getting a good seal on the actual bottle and cap, so dried off the fluid on the rubber seal and all contact areas and that did the trick. As steve says if its too tight it just pushes the rubber out of the way rather than sealing onto it, but the temptation is to do it up tight so try easing off on the cap tightness a little! Steve, Yep always good to know you have done something usefull and you wont need to do it again for a while! they'll probably last 5 or 6 years too so better keep checking the front and rear guide pins dont seize with only little use  Agree a slightly more industrial version would come in handy, wonder if its possible to make one :norty: i also tried it at around 28 psi instead of the 20 they recomend. I also press on the brake pedal a few times as the fluid is tricking out as it says to try that in the instuctions so gave it a whirl and found it helped flush out more old fluid! :?
  12. Cheers mate, if i'm totally honest though Dave i truly wanted an early Nugget but with so few available and havinfg seen half a dozen which were all quite nasty i thought towards an 8v and then within a couple of weeks this one popped up! I have to say though i do normally dislike silver cars as i feel the people driving them are fruitcakes that cant choose a real colour its just the easiest thing to ask for when ordering a new car! Have some guts and go for it! dont order one thats done in the same colour as the chuffin primer  if you know what i mean  But now i'll never hear the end of it from Jude as she know i always go on about how many silver cars are around and i end up with one Lol! But i do like Corrado's in silver too as i feel not that many were around at the time of production so it looks a little different!
  13. KIPVW - A deserved heir to the TCS throne? Funny thing was when i phoned about it when i was at tatton park to look at on the way home from there he said it had been sold so i said let me know if it falls through! So monday I had a text to say it did fall through and when i asked why he said the guy wanted me to deliver it to derby without a deposit, the trip would be around 100 mile. And i'm seripously thinking it was TCS who wanted it as i think they are based near there but i could be completely wrong. I'll take that as a compliment then  Just room for another one  Yep the neighbours are all lovely to be honest! some of them came to our house warming and had a great time with them! I reckon they must think we are totally insane though! but in the nicest possible way. Thanks walesy! i have to say i was thinking about you when i drove it home, but only for a second Lol! you wont believe the price either mate. :norty: I think its just a crazy obsession, But imagine owning 4 to yourself like 2cc, now thats dedication :notworthy:  Ta very much Richard, was close though and i thought we lost it for a while, just hope it doesn't collapse on the drive now LoL!
  14. Lol! Cheers Fay, am realy chuffed about them too if i'm honest i was dredding bleeding them after reading so much about it on here but it went like a dream using the Gunsons Easi Bleed Kit! :D all for less than £20 too
  15. All brake parts are standard VAG bits from dealers, the boots are too! still available and around £10 a kit which is enough for one caliper ie includes 2 boots, 2 bolts and some lube to put it all back together with. :salute:
  16. Hi Charlie, Yeah agree its nice to have a daily too but i guess its not within everyones reach so i do feel very lucky in that respect! Yeah i do cycle in normally but with being so busy with the house and other car stuff i just couldn't be bothered, but then jude stuck a betty boop sticker on her blackberry so that totally put me off driving it! So will be on the bike again soon as i need to shed a few pounds from all the cakes i've eaten this show season  But then i now have a daily too as the old toyota was sold a few weeks ago weeeeeeeeeeeee!
  17. :norty: Not a chance andy! Its taken half my will to live, ALL my money and two relationships and a thousand sleepless nights to get K1 PVW to look like it does but then I have to say twas on the concours field that Mine & Judiths Eyes did meet. Lol! Its purely a daily driver. .............................................................................................................................................For Now!
  18. Well guys and girls, it has taken me over 2 years to find the Nugget 16v i always wanted and after viewing 5, all of which were awfull i decided on a change of plan. Here is that new plan. Welcome to our house, Corrado Number 4, Satin Silver 8 valve with 91,800 on the clock, 3 previous owners, VAG History till 77,000. Am pleased as can be! I'm sure there will be a few problems to sort but everything seems OK for now, even the sunroof works  Pics to drool over!
  19. Ah thought so, cheers guys :salute: Jon Haven't yet removed it from the solid line so fingers crossed Lol! will try Tom's method for that end of the pipe first. How did you get yours off in the end then? Thanks!
  20. Hi All, Well i'm fitting some used refurbed calipers to the fron of Judiths storm and they came with goodridge hoses attached, Question is though should the piece that connects to the solid line spin on the hose or is it supposed to be fixed? ie the whole braided section spining making it difficult to fit with the caliper fixed on the end! I'm thinking it should have a bezzel that spins for ease of fitting but they may have rusted up! Hope this makes sense! and any confirmation would be smashing
  21. Yeah if it was in my car Judith would lick it off! but i'd take the shelf out and stick in in a hot bath to melt it out
  22. YUP! Lol! only kidding! i love doing kits like this, just wish i had more time to do them but then they'd just clutter up the place after you finish them if you do loads so i guess theres no harm in one or two, love the caranking handle which turns the engine round
  23. KIPVW

Sorry to hear this chap! hopefully it wont be too serious in that they want to write it off! cant really comment on just car clinic but try a search on the sheffield forum to see if theres anything of interest, its amazing what people talk about on there :norty:
  24. Not a chance mate, been told to leave it alone! so hopefully get them on for harewood next weekend
