KIPVW replied to voo51's topic in Cars for Breaking
Can i have the rear seatbelt top slot things please both sides. Also are the seatbelt triangle things that clip onto the anchor points all intact? i'd like those too please. And the seatbelt height adjusting knobs if they are unbroken. Let me know how much posted via pm if thats ok. Bloody shame to see you do it though i've gotta say! :( -
Good man, you know it makes sense Dave :) Are you replacing the brake cmpensator and lines too?? gotta do my VR this year too.

Sounds about right to me mate i think it was over £1000 a few years ago but i think that included the tail section too.

Well what an epic day/weekend! this show just has the perfect atmosphere and gets better every year, the weather was truly fantastic again which alway makes for a good day out. This really is becoming one of the highlights of the show season helped along muchly by having great friends over to stay before the show which really is what it's all about people. Always good to catch up with a few friendly faces we dont see that often too :) Was also great to see some new cars in the Corrado fold with Andy's new red VR & Tony's satin silver low milage VR complete with VSR Manifold :) not to mention peter's car actually getting to the event after an electrical glitch earlier in the week. The standard of cars is superb and i was truly gobsmaked to pick up a trophy today with such awsome competition. Long may this event run for and it's success is a credit to Simon & Jess and the rest of the gang who make it such a great event Kip

Peter before anything else try this, As it sounds like the key read coil assembly to me, remove both the lower shelfs near the fuse tray and you will see a shiney black cable/wire coming from the area where the key goes on the steering column. Follow this wire to the small connector plug on the end of it, remove the plug and dunk it into a small amount of WD40 sprayed into the cap. this will give it a good soaking in the stuff, then very carefully push back on and off where the connector goes and do this a few times as this will also clean up the contacts as you do so. Then refit and see how you go! i'd leave the shelfs off for a day or so to see how it goes. Had this on my VR years ago and this cured it totally. Judes 8v is also doing it in the last day or so so i'll be doing it to that too. I'd be very surprised if this isn't the problem. Good luck.

Hi Mate, if you could get there around 9.30 but the place isn't that strict to be honest unless you want to enter the show and shine bit which is indoors. We will probably be alongside the railway line to the left of the show area. I'll pm you my number mate now ;)
-
Fantastic :) pictures are truly superb quality too Phil.
-
Ha Ha Ha! Andy you are bonkers! :)
-
They are not a ball ache to fit they are a ball ache to remove! A guy i know in the trade has done 4 for us now over the last few year and he will be doing the Nugget when it's all painted up ready. Removal is far more difficult than refitting, thats the easy part he says :)

Good measures of very hot not boiling water mate with plenty of car shampoo should do it, i used to park under some trees at my old work place so had to do it fairly often :/ if you have some thick rubber gloves too give it a good rub with a sponge while you are at it ;) If its not sap try Auto Glyn paint renovator.

Peter's VR6...engine bay started, need help with new plug leads
KIPVW replied to sengelow's topic in Members Gallery
Personally speaking Peter i think the speedline wheels look superb and is easily the best looking standard wheel for the corrado, have you considered getting them refurbished? Also more and more people seem to be going back to standard wheels rather than larger aftermarket ones! certainly a few anyway and i've noticed the comments that they have made on how good the car feels on 15" wheels. :) Kip -
G60 2 years on, engine out because i was bored
