  1. x2 I think what The_Dude is confused about, is that you're named with 16v but looking for a 6 branch.
  2. The Passat CC is a very nice motor, but doesnt justify scrapping a Corrado :(
  3. No one said getting a VR was a bad idea..... just not that one  :D
  4. I agree with Jim, it will be way too heavy making it undrivable. Whats the general idea with getting rid of the PAS?
  5. Harsh, but fair ! [strike:2u8qgfvi]Harsh, but[/strike:2u8qgfvi] fair !
  6. Sounds like its best to just walk away from and look else where. Unless you're willing to spend say 1k and break it. Whats wrong with the engine exactly?
  7. "Protected" NCB is the way forward! I can do 2 claims in 3 years without losing my (15+yrs) NCB... It is, but that in itself costs a fortune doesnt it? Plus you cant protect them until you get full no claims and since i had an accident a couple of years ago that put me back down to 3 years so i'll have to wait another year - been a year without driving the car too.
  8. That is actually the case in regards to NCB. 5 is the max you can have, which is silly imo and doesnt help the fact that they can take 2-3 years off that 5. Its just a way of them making more cash. Robbing :censored:
  9. No cant be, there's not nearly enough botching on that.
  10. I know what you mean mate. I get one mate at work whos calls it a rust bucket or shed etc - guess what, he drives one of those bright green fester :epicfail: So he's no room to talk. I've found people who take the pish out of it Corrados, generally dont know much about them. I'm yet to meet someone who knows about them and doesnt know what it is. I get very defensive when someone takes mick out of my car  a bit :camp: i know, as you could say its 'just a car' But to me its not 'just a car'
  11. Now thats how the Corrado should have come out of the factory... VW watch and learn!
  12. Yup got similar problem myself. Its either the sender or the float in the tank. Or the stabiliser in the dash instruments. However i got the stabiliser changed and it didnt seem to help. Check the sender in the tank first, apparently they can get worn with age.
  13. What! they took 5 .... sheesh.... I always think (maybe naively), that they should take only 1 year for every accident you have. :?
  14. aaaaaaawwwwwww!! :luvlove:  [/quote:2wbley34] :camp: The missus does moan saying that i love the rado more then her... so...
  15. Had this at work, had to be pushed out of the snow by the maintenance guys. When i saw one of them days later he said - 'you've parked somewhere sensible today have you. I dunno what you were thinking going down there its not a 4x4, its only ( :mad2: ) a Scirocco'. So i replied saying it wasnt a Scirocco it was a Corrado. He simply replied with 'Same thing' :bad-words: :cuckoo: I wasnt prepared to start explaining the difference to him! I've had comments from the random person on the street, or delivery blokes that sees it parked on the drive. But generally dont get that many comments. Though it doesnt bother me, as i know what it means to me! :D
  16. Its tough, but i think i'd say the 2nd one.
  17. Yeah agree with the above, if its just the door there's no point going through the insurance. Are insurance companies taking 3 years no claims off people these days, not just 2... absolutely scandalous! :mad2:
  18. Had the Toyo Proxes TR-1s on the front and found they wore down quick, though grip in the wet and dry was pretty good.

    Vag Com

When you select the port and press 'test' does it say 'connected and ready' or something like that? Try changing the latancy setting in the control panel of windows or see if it will detect in another port. My Ebay lead will only work in com port 3, though it wont detect in any other port.

    Vag Com

from what i can remember it just tell you the error codes My 303.11 shows full descriptions, using a £10 Fleabay lead... Ah cheers for clearing that up Matt - thought i was imagining things :cuckoo: Why did they remove that functionality on the new versions then??? Seems a step backwards removing the error code description.
  21. Also who rebuilt it for you would be good to mention as no doubt a SC rebuilt by someone like G-Werks would be easier to sell then some 'unknown' company - also receipt.

    Vag Com

millerman, im sure VAG COM does state what the problem is as opposed to just an error code. Version 303.11 also works :D
  23. Many thanks mate, I thought as much, that would be a funny sight :camp:[/quote:2r9tt9un] I said ass but meant just the front, the rear will be fine. But the engine will be way too heavy for valver springs. Got sent the wrong springs for some fk shocks i bought and the front was slammed - was only supposed to be a -40mm drop
  24. Yeah, the spring rating will be wrong for the VR and will be on its ass! Though if you could get replacement springs.
