The amazing thing was, when i reported the wheel to the council, 2 days later there were signs up saying road will be closed in the next 2 weeks, they resurfaced the whole road! all on behalf of me reporting the pot hole and claiming. Has to be said its as smooth as hell now, no hole or bumps. A pleasure to drive down. They should have done that before though. Oh and the hole was there due to work men not doign their jobs properly. Had the sprayed on yellow box round the hole, like it has been worked on but not completed.

I claimed against the council for my alloy wheel when i hit a pot hole. Not much of a problem at all, as long as youve got pics of the damage and hole, preferably with something to give scale of the hole. The only little problem was the time it took to get the cheque in my hand. Oh and youll need to buy a new splitter and send them a copy of the receipt.

Surely the wheels wouldnt spin, as theres no "grip" from the clutch. There'd be plenty of revs but no go.
-
Yeah ive heard that, was thinking it could be the wheel bearing. It sounds like a squeaking noise on mine.

WOOHOO!!!! -
No its def not a normal leak. The plugs are getting oiled up which leads to misfiring. No mayo or oil in water. Sounds like its the valve seals. or possibly even the piston rings.

Cheers for the reply Louie Lungbubble, how much would getting the HG skimmed be??? Probably a basic Q, but would this explain the use of oil and oiling up plugs?? Thanks mate

BUMP.... anyone please.

Voted!

Yeah i can vouch for that, the tone is sweeeet. The garage that fitted my supersprint thought it was gonna be a dog to fit. But when i went to pick it up he said it fitted perfectly and it has to be the only aftermarket exhaust he's never had any problems fitting. :D

I need to get back in touch with VW tbh and speak to a technician who'll be able to give me more details as to what is wrong with the cylinder head. The thing is there is no blue smoke suggesting HG failure, however the plugs are gunking up with oil. But i have been told by a trusted mechanic that it doesnt nec smoke until it gets worse.

Hi all, Ok, ive posted a related problem on here already, however i now a bit more info as to what could be wrong. Basically, when i bought the car it was down on power and the HG had been changed by VW in 2005. Seen as ive got a problem with the engine using oil the bloke i bought it off advised me to ring VW and find out if the HG was still under warrenty. SO.. i rang VW up and was told it isnt under warrenty anymore, also the previous owner to the bloke i bought it off was told that some work needed doing on the cylinder head or the HG will just keep failing (which he refused to be done), infact they said i needed a new one. My questions are, is it possible that VW didnt skim the cylinder head before putting the new HG on, thus the HG keeps on failing? Would VW skim the cylinder head when doing a HG change? Ive read on here recently that you DO need to skim the cylinder head when fitting a new HG or this WILL cause the HG to keep failing? AM i talking complete codswallop or is this making at least a bit of sense to anyone. Or is it something else thats the problem? Cheers fellas!

erm... as for my problem guys, doesnt matter anymore, havent got the G60 anymore, ive not got a VR. With its own problems
-
For my G60 it cost me £445 inc postage, for that i got the cat bypass, centre pipe and box and back box with oval tailpipe. Speak to Vince at Stealthracing. Good quality exhaust! Maybe worth reading this thread- http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25077

Citylink arent so bad for posting wheels, used them a few times. All 4 wheels and tyres for £50ish.

How many of us have near original spec Corrados?
Critical_Mass replied to Bojmobile's topic in General Car Chat
Yup mine's standard too, bought it like that (added after photo was taken), bar the badgeless grille i added, and im reluctant to start modding it. HOWEVER a little more power would be nice :) -
not sure mate, never removed a rear bumper hence not knowing where bolts are, id imagine they'll be underneath also and similar size bolts to the front. Im not sure if they are held on by the same principle.
-
Look under the car mate (a bit vague i know), there are 2 17mm (I think thats the size) bolts on either side, theres a 13mm (again i think thats the size) in the middle of the 2 on either side. Undo the larger ones, these hold the brackets joined to the bumper and then the bumper should just pull out. Dont under the smaller middle bolts! The slam panel bolts can then be reached that are attached in front of the radiator. Undo all attaching bolts to wings and inner skin of the wings (right under where the lights sit). As for the wings, undo all the screws that run along the top, where the bonnet would sit when closed. Theres also a bolt under the sill of the car, where the arch is. Ive never taken the doors off nor the boot lid but id imagine theyd be pretty straight forward. Hope this helps buddy!
