It needs to be tight, what type of top mount nut do you have? the one that looks like a nut or the one with tow cut outs that a special tool is needed?
-
sounds right but clearly has a problem, when you had the coilovers off did you see if the top mount moves freely? possibly have a look at the coilover and get someone to turn the car lock to lock?
-
There is no holes for drainage on the tailgate bar on the underside when you open it,its common for the tailgate to rust due to rust holes appearing under the seal and also the spoiler rubber seals wear out and allow water in via there also... :(
-
how have you assembaled the coilovers as it sounds like its the spring is winding up as it cant turn with the top mount and you will get that "dong" type of noise.
-
yup, they are the same they have been fitted to various vag models from 1974 - 1993 !

the only shows i *hope* to do this year are Gti international and leed Vw Festival,if ya around give us a shout :) Thanks mate hope i get the itch back...still dormant tho but as you said hopefully summer will change that  Cheers Chris, get your self over  Smooth bay.....na its not me and there is to much engine so not really worth it and ive drank my fair share of JD over this bloody car :bad-words: Its all back together now, need a few suspension tweeks and its done then i need to give it a massive clean/detail as its filthy! few randoms...

-
yea i dont like waxoil its "old school" and there is better products out there which are also easier to use,i use Rusco products and use plenty of Rusco cavity wax,our bodyshop uses them for insurance improved repaires so its good stuff, runs inside and along seams you cant get to and you get a long hose supplied to do all them akward places, drys hard and does not run like waxoil. love the stuff!

Using stuff like cure-rust or something similar has always worked for me,had a sciroco that had rust all over, wired it all away and used cure-rust and it was painted.....6 years later as i still know the cars location its still rust free! also using cavity wax in the areas that you cannot reach is brill for keeping rust at bay. -
lets lock this now before the war begins......
-
have you tried Adrian Flux,HIC etc also ive heard allot of good things from footman james
-
is your car modded and what sort of mileage do you do in a year?
-
thanks mate, ive made sure the lines of the front and rear bumper line up seamlessly with the arches and also i removed the swage line on the front and rear bumpers as this line is no longer there on the arches to follow...its the small things you never notice that make all the difference :)

Thanks Kip,only got a few more while its going back together....just started snowing agian :bad-words: Cheers mate, the wheels were silver centred when i got them and to be fair looked boring, the only other colour i would have consided is the old motorsport type shade of gold...but getting someone to do it for the right price was not going to happen and I looked a g60greeny's ex red on black centred corrado and it looks so right and im happy ive stuck with black as up close in real life looks so well! Got allot of interior trim back in and finished off sealing off and cavity waxing evey nook and cranny the car had so is pickled for life! Got to repair the dereded corrado handbrake breaking away from floor fault and its all go,had it warmed up and gave it a few revsjust to let the neighbours know im back :norty: Few random shots...
-
Its ok if you got a smashed up lambo and swap over the running gear ...but to buy a fully functional undamaged car and strip it just for running gear..... :brickwall: :cuckoo:
-

-
