Will do mate - got plenty of coffee in!
-
I shudder to think what price a modern Corrado R would be with all the toys!
-
Indeed we do replace with s/s! [and slap the waxoyl about] We have "BAPP" in Barnsley who do a nice line in s/s fastenings - but are we creating a corrosion time bomb adding s/s to a lower grade body? Any metalurgists out there? Can't remember any of it now though. :( So that's how you got into "metalled roads"?

Now that's a PROJECT

Thanks for that reminder Jon Those 2 pesky screws are ones I regularly dose, after having to drill out VAG-hag's, after about 9 years of neglect [in my ownership!]
-
No probs Kip - I'll pre-soak the bumper bolts. A 2 weekend approach would be good - give me chance to pre-assembly prep all the acky bits in between. Enjoy Sat night! 8)

Unlimited budget to mod a corrado what would you do?

Ask DGA to build me a nearly new C, like Dave's VRT but in ice-violet and dark grey leather. And so as not to spoil/wear it out - RS6 avant for daily! and keep an eye out for a damaged repairable Carrera GT! -
No probs with saving the taxpayers' - t&c certainly has its place - might help us avoid becoming a 3rd world country! Just wish we could take a more German approach - in more ways than just roads. :notworthy:

Excellent nostalgia collection!

CF F1 Fantasy League 09 -Final results...who won, who lost?
Philmo replied to The_Dude's topic in General Car Chat
Well done Baricello - 4th, same as me! :notworthy: AND big thanks to Jim the Dude for sorting it all. Really looking forward to next yr - 4 new teams, inc Lotus, new rules, tyre management/design will be interesting. -
Now that's what I call a wolf in sheep's clothing! :norty:
-
Not to mention blasting your wheel-arches and offering the chance of a new windscreen! :ignore:
-
Patches & chips with everything?!
-
Not sure Tom - the existing ones on mine were OK when rear bearings done last year. What are the pros & cons? If it's not necessary to keep beam/stubs as a matched set then do you want to keep them in your spares stock? Photos would be most welcome - it's the torsion bar on mine that's doubtful for MOT I'll need to bring some folding stuff - did you have a # in mind?
-
Would that be for highways - or the farm?
-
I missed that sale - what else didn't sell?!
-
Kip - I'll gladly take the radiator @ yr excellent knock-down price - if you/Judith don't want to keep it as a spare. :? I'm free all w/e & would be grateful for your help with it at mine. Judith - you'll be welcome too of course - though Shirley's away in Tenerife with her mate! The front panel & bumper look to be a 2 man lift to avoid scuffs & drop damage. Will give me an opportunity to clean up the front panel, beam and fan housing, also fit inlet mani thermal insulating gasket, possibly without removing blower and alternator. Let me know a convenient time - as I'm totally flexible.
-
Nah then Kip  How could I resist such an offer! Are u doin much this w/e?
-
Not a bit of it - the model designation is gen - no bull! Well aye - it'd be good with a ripping pick on it - bit too slow for recovery work - unless your car's beached that is!
-
Thanks g0ldf1ng3r - yes I'm inclined to agree re the chemical treatment, VR's seem delicate enough in the cooling department. When you say £115 for oem - is that VW's supplier's price? If so who is that?
-
£150 is gettin closer, must look TPS up. Would be good if the beam could fit, but essential to leave room for the sausages as a priority! :D
-
Thanks Jon. I was wondering about that - to give me better access to the lower mani as well. Presents an opportunity to totally clean up the slam panel and front beam too. £200???? Is that list or rock bottom mate's price? How does OEM quality compare with aftermarket?
-
Cheers Tom - good to hear from you. There's no sign of rubbing from the cable - I think it must be simple corrosion - coolant wasn't lookin too G12ish when I bought her 2+ yrs ago. I'll get an OEM price but can't promise not to laugh! BTW - did your VR rear beam ever find a good home? If it's still available and its torsion bar is reasonably rust free - I'd be pleased to take it from you at Stealth RR day. :?

My 1st Corrado - Updated P3 Rear axle refurb and new lights
Philmo replied to Emkayvr6's topic in Members Gallery
The C looks a beauty, pity about the light covers though. Sure you must have seen the stick-on protective plastic sheets for these though? Combination looks businesslike! C adrenalin must be pretty thin after a session on that!
