Wish i could say i was 100% happy today but i'm not :bad-words: I drive for a builders merchant so my beloved C is parked all day in a builders yard. Well....today some numb skull builder decided to use an angle grinder to cut up some re-inforcing bars so he could fit them in his van, and in doing so, said f*ck*ing moron has showered the drivers side of my C with shards of rusty metal. He's ruined my drivers door window and the rear quarter light. I shall be having a good look at the CCTV in the yard tomoz and then i'll be on the war path :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :censored:

Apparently the Corrado was an N'reg and the driver was a 24 year old from Barnstaple. Thankfully both drivers are safe and well. I'm going to send Cnut on here a message to find out if it was him.

A blue Corrado has been involved in a very nasty crash with a people carrier this afternoon on the A361 North Devon link road. I don't have all the details yet but my bro. is attending the scene as i type. My bro was in rather a panic on way to the scene as he thought the Corrado driver might be me. I only know of one other Blue Corrado owner in this area and hope to God it's not him. I do hope both drivers are ok. Really do hope it's no one from the Forum.

Go to the ring and race them all......it'de be a scream....plus it's the only way to find out

Also the bottom of the speedo surround is a pain in the proverbial to clean. I always end up removing the whole thing to clean it properly. Dunno what the point of the grooves are other than to store fluff and dust.

I agree with the majority here....start at £500 or let the dealer take the lead by asking what sort of money he's looking for. Half the VAG dealers don't even know what a Corrado is anymore  and hopefully your dealer is just as ignorant.

Another alternative is the Pipercross induction box. It's a foam filter in a steel frame that replaces the air box. Gives a lovely induction roar and lets the engine breath a little easier. If i remember correctly, Flusted has experimented with fitting cone filters to valvers in the past. You might wish to PM him for more info. I've seen it done before with an adapter plate bolted to the metering head (instead of the top portion of the airbox). Attached to the plate was a collar then a 90 degree elbow with the cone filter attached facing forwards. The metering head was held in it's original place with metal brackets that were bolted to the inner wing.

Had this happen in the road i live in. A driver of a Piggot 205 (i loath French cars) managed to side swiped the neighbours Vectra and then hit a Fiesta nose on pushing it down the road 50 feet. This was at around 12:30am one Monday morning and the noise forced me out of bed and into the street where i discovered a front bumper complete with number plate plus various other little bits of wreckage laying in the road  It was very amusing to watch later that night when the driver decided to stagger back down the road and look for his bumper. Even funnier when a moment later a police car arrived. Turns out he was well know to the police for drink driving and was in fact banned from driving.

Me thinks i'll give the Vag heavy duty ones a try then Mr Supercharged :salute:

Have a look at the spade connectors on both the sensors (assuming you have a 16 valve engine) as over time they tend to become loose fitting.

Looks a good buy from the photos chap and welcome to the forum.

VW hangers are pretty expensive (over £2 each) and no better than pattern ones.

If your solenoid was sticking then all your dash lights would dim when turning the ignition to the starter position. My guess would be that your ignition switch has gone fubbar again or the connector on the back of the ignition switch has worked it's self loose. If you had an ignition switch from GSF fitted last time they only last a couple of years. If you have to change the switch either get one from the stealers or you can buy the same OEM quality but cheaper from Volkswerk.

Those powerflex hangers seem rather pricey to me when compared to the standard pattern hangers at 65 pence and 70 pence each.....lol Be interested to know how they stand the test of time though. Tends to be the front hangers on the transverse box and the very rear hanger by the tail pipe that split and break up on mine.

Seemed to be having this problem with my Scorpion system as well. I keep spare standard rubber hangers and change them whenever they start cracking. I've tried shifting and twisting the rear silencers around but no matter what adjustments i make the mounting rubbers always end up being stretched one way or the other. I guess Scorpion need to revise where they fit the brackets on their silencers.

I'de love to....if only i could trust people not to scratch it.....sadly becoming quite a problem round here lately.

The two colours are incredibly closed though. Kinda makes me wonder why VW bothered with Inca Blue, or visa versa.

The story goes like this. The front end of my Aqua Blue Corrado has tons of stone chips so i decided to order some LC5U spray cans and touch up sticks from my local VW stealer. A couple of weekends ago i set about touching up every little scratch and stone chip i could find on the car. Anyways, the next day when i looked at the car the paint seemed to have dried a little darker than the original paint but i decided this wouldn't be a problem once i'de given the car a good mop and compound. I've always had problems with shades of paint in the past and at this stage wasn't too worried. The bonnet was particularly bad but last weekend i managed to find an Aqua Blue bonnet at a bargain price so decided to replace the bonnet rather than sit for hours touching in a zillion stone chips. So after a 100 mile round trip to collect the bonnet last Saturday, and the fact that the weather was so good i set about removing the old bonnet and fitting the replacement one. Later that evening i went to a local scenic watering hole and looked across at my car admiring the beautifull sunset that lit the backdrop of the scene. I thought to my self...Hang on a minute....that bonnet looks darker than the rest of the car. On returning home i decided to search the interior of my Aqua Blue Corrado to see if i could find a paint code anywhere. The sticker on the bulk head and the one in the boot had been scuffed and torn so much over the years that they were now unreadable. I managed to eventually find a code stamped on the centre tunnel (i expect you can guess it wasn't LC5U by now). :censored: LK5T :censored: :censored: :censored: :bad-words: :bad-words: . How could i have been so dumb????? The chap i bought the car from seemed to believe the car was AQUA BLUE and having never parked my car next to another AQUA BLUE Corrado i foolishly got it into my head that my C was AQUA BLUE. In the daylight the Aqua Blue bonnet looks nigh on identical to Inca Blue. I expect my chances of finding an Inca Blue bonnet would be very remote anyway seeing as the colour was only used by VW for just over 12 months. I'm now trying to figure out why i made the mistake in the first place, but at the same time i find the whole c*ck up quite amusing  Can't say i'm looking forward to compounding all the wrong coloured touch up paint off though

I know we are supposed to be talking mpg here but i think it's interesting that the G60 is only 0.2 secs faster 0-60mph than a 1.8 valver. Yes the G60 is only an 8 valve engine but is it really worth forking out for that supercharger rebuild. Anyways....nuff said by me.

Fixed Steering Column Part Numbers Please?
Valerian replied to VRTrickster's topic in Suppliers Forum
Etka lists two different part numbers for the fixed steering assembly and three different part numbers (one of these is for cars fitted with airbags) for the adjustable one. I suggest that you consult your local VW dealers parts dept. for the correct parts. At least then you will have some security against getting the wrong parts -
A crossroads where all four junctions have giveway lines....sounds a right recipe for disaster.

15 to 16mm includes the backing. I'm not getting arsey at all. You claim i do not read the posts correctly and i assure you i do.
-
Geeez ....it's like plucking at hairs in here sometimes I had 5 mm plus the backing left on the pads when the tester failed it for having 1.5mm plus the backing who cares about the backing all i said is at 5mm if it was a service they would be thrown away ,if you read back through my posts i was on you side as the tester was an arse hole for failing them and he had no right to so go and ask him why the hell he did , IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN ADVISORY AT THE MOST. you were the one that said there were no pads 19.6mm as new , well there are loads . I actually said "i've yet to see any pads that are 19.6mm thick when new " I'm perfectly capable of reading thank you very much. The thickest Corrado pads I HAVE EVER SEEN are for the rear of later Corrados and are 17.5mm thick. The fronts are usually 15 to 16mm.

5mm is approx. half worn.....i've yet to see any pads that are 19.6mm thickwhen new  sorry mate loads of pads on the market are 19mm at least, 5mm is nearly stuffed if it was a service on a car with 5mm left on the pads they would be replaced. The minimum figure given for Golf and Corrado pads is 7mm including the backing. Now the figures i quote do not include the backing.
