I knew they were supposed to be light for a 17" wheel... but had no idea they were actually the lightest in the world! I'll remember to apprieciate them 8) Not sure where DDI got the design for the gauges, but zarman did come up with a much better solution - using the needles out of a porsche 996: Unfortunately I don't think this is cheap... $200 is the figure zarman quoted  but I'm sure there'll be an audi or something I can get some needles from for a bit cheaper (I hope) and I'll have a play on fitting them to my spare clocks I have :) Once again, thanks for the words of encouragement guys 8)

yeah I forgot to do that  I took the extra travel into account so didn't replace the needle right where it was pointing before, but a bit lower.. but obviously not quite right still. I'll just have to follow someone and see how far out it is.. I think its about 5mph

Finally fitted my DDI dials!! My speedo's well out, over-reading so not too bad... but they look niiiiiiiice 8) As you can see I need to sort the needles out, but I can still see them at night, so not urgent. Also need to change the filter on the digital screens so the red is better matched with the red on the dials, but overall I'm well chuffed! :D Got my gauges to fit soon too, hopefully they'll match as well I've hoped...

Looks much better than the green 8) I've been doing exactly the same thing today... was getting incredibly frustrated because I kept dropping screws in the dash while trying to put it back together!! But after taking the dashboard apart and putting it back together, I've had a very happy, distracting drive home :)

 I saw the photo's on vortex.. very impressive! 8) but did you cover it in mud by hand, or did it actually get that way through driving?! Actually makes it look really cool  Also foot doesn't look to healthy... mine doesn't bend that far round

Supersprint discontinuing Corrado exhausts...
Shilakadaddy replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
I already have a supersprint exhaust... but I was hoping to get a supersprint manifold too :( totally skint atm so theres no chance of me getting one. gutted! -
so you guys reakon this is worth doing then? I'll have to see if I can get hold of a spare throttle body and have a play... although it seems since this thread popped up, everyone with a G60 has thought the same thing - the wanted section is filled with throttle bodies!

I'm thinking about removing my arch lining to stop some of the scraping I get when going round corners too fast or over large bumps etc. I was just wondering if anyone else has done this, and if it'll cause me any problems doing it? Cheers, Chris

Thanks guys :) The dial rings were bought from Germany: http://www.tachoringe.de/catalog/defaul ... Path=34_21 Don't wanna take business away from DDI, but they're a lot cheaper buying from germany than from the US. They weren't too hard to fit (not a perfect fit mind you) - I just used some of those sticky fixer pad things. Stay tuned for interior stuff, theres more to come (I'm yet to fit my DDI dials, and some other gauges I bought from the US), so when they arrive the interior will be a bit more interesting :D

Quick Update: I installed an RSR Outlet kit obtained from G-Werks yesterday and have to say I'm pretty pleased with the results... With everything like this, I can never tell if its actually made a difference or whether I'm just imagining it... but since installing the new outlet, the car feels like it has more power at the top of the rev range, and pulls right up to the red line. I did a boost check a while ago (after getting my supercharger rebuilt) and got a reading of 1950, which I thought was a little low, and that maybe I had a leak... So after installing this I figured I should do another one, and this time I got a reading of 1990 :) This new figure was obtained right before the redline (further than I usually rev my car) so I'm not sure if I've got more boost due to actually eliminating a leak, or whether i'd just revved the car more... but I'm still happy :) Anyway, I've attached a couple of pictures... looks like I could use a new radiator housing thing  Chris

Chris, can your company install and properly set up these kits then? I can't afford to do it, however I think its something I'd definately be interested in, in the future... just for novelty value

looks really good on a black car 8) quite tempted to do this myself after seeing it done on a red corrado (G60Dan's car)...

Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!

Also renewal quotes are always more expensive than just a new quote... I'm with elephant and they tried to charge me £1200 to renew. I did a new quote online and it came to £850, phoned them up and they said that was fine, so I was happy :) -
Cheers VR6, theres not too many solutions suggested, however I did find this: So I'll give this a try at some point... unless anyone else has any other suggestions? Cheers, Chris

ah c**p did I? Is it just the drivers ones your missing? I seem to remember leaving the passenger one in the door card...

I keep meaning to do something about this, but have never got round to it  My Rieger Grille has had a sag in the middle of it since I bought it... now I've noticed mines not the only one like this, and that there are actually others that are perfectly straight... so how do I make it straight? Mine (Saggy): Someone Else... (not saggy): Any Ideas? Cheers, Chris

Aerial stolen - UPDATED with pics of suspect Corrado

Not all numberplates are transferable... I think it says on the V5 document whether it is or not... thats all I know on the situation

I think I remember seeing that on the news, I don't know whether it was the same place, but definately somewhere with a similar setup where a private company was hired to catch people stopping... They went so far that one woman was actually caught when she stopped to read the sign that explained you weren't allowed to stop! Turns out they'd made the sign too small and all these tickets being issued would never hold up in court anyway... people still paid tho :?
-
You can get them in 17" too... but I haven't managed to find a decent website with them on yet... not that I can afford them anyway, but BBS LM's with black centres and a polished rim... ummmmmm :) http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com/wheel/bbs.asp

M3 Mirrors  ...still a nice car tho, any pics of the front?

Your kidding?! I'd love a test drive in that :D I'm aiming for a similar engine spec with mine (yours and stevemac's) although will all take time, will be good to see what kind of power its producing... looking forward to more pics too 8)

got to be one of my favourites 8) looks similar to the one G-man posted a few days ago... post more pics! :D
