  1. You're like a Corrado rescue centre Kip :D . Keep up the good work !! If ever you need to sell your K1 PVW plate to finance your rescue operations you know who to ask !!
  2. Nice shockers Pete!! Makes my old billies look positively dull! Where do you adjust them? How's the actual conversion coming along? Still need to get you those plumbing diagrams chap, I haven't forgotten I've just not seen my car for ages :-(
  3. Go onto the vagcat website to get an exploded view of them and PART numbers.
  4. Yes you can replace the lenses, It's easy and self explanatory when you take the headlight out. When you order the glass, I would ask for new clips too. No messing with glue except a little bit sometimes on the trim around the glass.
  5. The early 1.8's are mechanical injection, the later 2 ltr are electrical.
  6. or pretend the orange block on the gauge is a light
  7. I have a cracked Mk4 one and a TT 3.2 one, I think I have a Mk4 Air mass sensor and it won't fit in the TT Airbox  Bloody breakers...
  8. The hydraulic tappets drain of oil over long periods which is why it sounds like a bag of nails, but it's no big deal really. Definitely do an oil/filter change BEFORE you lay it up, dirty oil can leave residue in the oilways etc, and make sure you use a cleaning agent when doing the change.
  9. i've never had bigger than standard brakes (until now) and whatever combination of disks/pads I've had over the years I've had the car I've always had brake fade problems, but then I also used to have a lead right foot problem too....
  10. Good skills Coxy, we need more pics though chap :D
  11. Yeah I have, but i can't get to them until the weekend, I think you can most probably definately do it leaving the coolant where it is, I think it would work well.
  12. and what is CAT warning light?
  13. Using the original stuff, you have to re-locate the water bottle though to the other side of the engine bay though. Battery is ok staying where it is though. I'm using a Mk2 Washer bottle unlike the pic below whichis the Mk4 one.
  14. My wife finds if easier to get our 18month son in and out of my 3 door seat Arosa (no laughing) than her four door golf. This is because she can get in the car with him by tilting the seat forward whilst she sorts out the belts etc and you can hold him straight in front of you. When you put him in the golf you have to stand outside the car and bend down and twist to get him in which personally I hate and Helen who's 5ft4 finds it awkward compared. It is made worse because we have on street parking and so the height of the pavement makes it further to bend down. If I were you if you do get another car, try loading a small sack of potatoes in and out of it... Keep the Corrado, it's only difficult for a few months :)
  15. Your better off using pots of paint and a roller to get the paint on, then flatting it back in-between coats. Spraying that much on is expensive and it'll take you longer.

    A bit smoky!

Oh? Since when did a compression/bore check not show up a fecked head gasket or piston ring/bore? :cuckoo:
  17. A garage where you can open 1 door fully is a luxury to me. You lucky git.

Get a compression check, Bore scope might help too.
  19. Looking good, really really good, hope you post up lots more pics :)
  20. Good efffort Waynos, looks really good.
  21. No problems bud, chargecooling rocks, I had a header tank with a cage in it, so if you were doing a 1/4 mile run you could stuff it full of ice to chill it without risk of the ice blocking the pipes....It works really well, and your right it is more responsive. Get a nice big header tank though, otherwise when you are sitting in traffic it warms up too much as I found out. Here's a pic of mine in my Mk1 before I fitted a larger header tankKip's Engine.jpg[/attachment:1sze9kl4]
  22. Hey buddy I just used a VR aux pump for mine, it worked a treat and you should be able to find one on here easily.
  23. That's unfair, your allowed to store exhaust parts in the house
