  1. hehe, sorry for the bad wording. I just didn't know what to call them.
  2. Blue_Joe, you beat me to it :)
  3. well, there are several ways to go: firstly, the golf rallye (or was it all g60s?) intercooler is a straight swap for the original corrado ic, but is much more efficient. A step up is a front mounted intercooler. If you want to go big, you should really invest in a bigger front bumper. If OEM is your style though, you can fit a smaller intercooler right behind the grill. Bahnbrenner can also supply you with something called a liquid air intercooler kit, which is some fancy way of cooling air, I guess via a radiator. Check it out here. That's about all the options I know about. Here's a pic of a "behind the grille" intercooler. Smaller than the original, and ten times as efficient :)
  4. it looks horrible though :) just block off everything like shown in the attached picture (which I got from either here or vwvortex, holla). Shouldn't be a problem then, I think anyways :) As for the mileage, I've no idea... I don't even know how that filter works, except it does something with petrol fumes to make them usable again, but that they usually don't function very well after 60-80k miles.
  5. i'd go for a 20v 1.8t engine any day. Or a vr, of course. Do you have to change any of the axels or cv joints etc etc to fit the 20vt? or the v5? or whatever except the vr really? What are usually the costs except the engine, and how many work hours does it take a pro mechanic to fit one? (depending on the engine, I'm sure.)
  6. I run 205/35/17s and I also get a tiny bit of rubbing on full lock. But then again, how often are you on full lock when you're driving over 5 mph? How much are they really gonna rub?
  7. gazzaG60, you are correct, although I don't use the free stuff like social security, hospitals and so forth as much as I feel I pay for my car. Of course, I understand that when you live in a socialist society, everyone gotta skip in, and I accept that, but it's still a bugger when a new audi a6 can cost up to £100,000. Oh, and we don't REALLY make that much money with up to 60-70 % income tax. kevHaywire, I'd say so. But then again, which gov't isn't in some way? However, mine is in every way. I'm Norwegian, born and raised, but spent last year state-side as an exchange student :) Oh, and I learned all those jolly expressions from that crap magazine m*x p***r (I was told not to use those words here  ). Totally agree with you on the scenery, but I live in oslo, where you don't really see any of it. And scenery is free :) Low crime is nice though, I'd pay for that every day :) Never been robbed actually! stanbates, the a-roads are usually in okay condition, but that's because they're so fecking expensive to build. When they make a new a-road in norway, you first (I've heard anyways) put up to three feet of rough gravel down where the pavement (tarmac, is it? can't handle english vs. american english  ) will be, then some kind of thick isolation, then more gravel, then cables and crap, then even more cables, and finally about one foot worth of asphalt on top. I think the average a-road in norway is about 6 feet deep. Oh, and you gotta blow all the mountains out of the way first :) Every other way than A-roads are horrible, though. We like ski jumping, obviously, so we try to make small jumps in the road and call them "speed bumps" for funding reasons :) About drink driving, I would never touch my rado after touching a beer, but I think 0.02 percent is a bit low, as it reacts to asthma medicines and other pharmacy products. Oh, stanbates, we DO get taxed on our income also... trust me. I think my folks pay about 60% of their income in taxes, I pay about 40% since I'm poor, and the rich feckers have to pay pretty much three quarters of their salary to the gov't. Oh, and we got a 25% sales tax on everything. What are you doing in Norway, anyways? Bring your rado next time, and we'll go to a meet or whatever ;) BTT: I think as long as a number plate is AROUND the original size, and easily readable (a.k.a. no gothic fonts), it should be allowed.

    It wont start!

lots of maybe's when your rado doesn't start, innit? ;) if it doesn't start, try some condensator (?) remover on the petrol tank and jump start it. Helped me ;)
  9. nice wall papers well, the bad thing about being made on the seventh day, is that that was God's day off, and he would probably not be very careful with everything. Although the design turned out heavenly, the mechanics don't seem to last too long :) nice car, mate.
  10. hi, man, just read through your post as you told me to ;) Actually, I think you deserve all this trouble when trying to so something nature cannot, and give a g60 engine supernatural powers. Too bad about the wack cam, but then again, they will fix it for free, so now you can focus on polishing the exterior, drinking, humping, and all the other simple pleasures in life. Love your color, style and engine man. Will it be capable of any major mileage when this tuned? And have you done anything to your charger yet?
  11. okay, the next time you guys say anything negative about the uk as a motorist's country, I swear to god I'll take the next plane over there and slap everyone of you silly. How about this? 65 in a 60 mph zone on an empty motorway: ~ 500-700£ + you lose your licence if you're under 21. The D.W.I. border is at 0.02 percent, which isn't half a beer. Anything over that, you lose your licence no matter how old you are. Norway also usually host the annual "who got the shitties roads in the world"-show, and we usually end up tieing with nicaragua. About plates, you don't really got a choice. You gotta use the nice goverment issued ones, and if you haven't got your stickers (road tax, about 3-400£ annually) in the correct places, they'll snap your plates and earn a living by that alone (I think it's approx. £500-700 to get your plates back). Oh, and if you thought your MOT was tough, you're in for a beating at ours. Here they don't skip small details. I could go on and on, I haven't even mentioned how expensive gas is, or for that sake, cars themselves. I paid £5000 for my 130000 miles 1989 corrado g60, and that was pretty cheap compared to some. You don't get a vr6 under £10,000 if you don't know the owner or whatever. Oh, and pints are about £5 apiece at happy hour.
  12. doesn't vw have a 1.4 litre turbocharged supercharged 170bhp golf planned?
  13. haha lol pal :) Ey, why wouldn't an engine with twice the valves and a bigger displacement be easier to get big bhp from? And if I'd bought one of these engines, wouldn't it be alright to add a charger to them? vr6storm, sounds like it. Found a pic of them between all my filthy ones, see below. Blue_Joe, how the heck do you get that amount of power from the g60 engine? (oh, secret question: what are the different engine codes for the rado engines (i.e. aaa, pg etc)? I've forgotten what goes where)
  14. okay, I'll even number these ones up for you: 1. Why are there two fuel pumps on the g60? Would it not be enough with one? 2. Why would you need a new chip when you fit a new pulley? How would a car with a smaller (i.e. 68mm) pulley work with an original chip? 3. How much hassle is it to fit a new-style dash and door cards to my '89 g60? 4. I've heard that my really early g60 didn't produce the 160 bhp stated. What were the differences, mechanically, and are they easily fixable? 5. What, except the sheer volume, differs the 1.8l 16v and 2.0l 16v engines? Are they a better starting point for big power than the g60 engine? 6. I've noticed that some c's have a kind of "curled" lip on the under-dash shelves. Why? When were they delivered like this? Cheers, Kris Oh, and sorry for asking all these questions, but I know you don't got anything better to do anyways, so I might as well entertain you all with some stupid questions to answer :)
  15. I'll be down for one of the yellow ones. Or a red one. Not really sure how much I need. I'd like to be able to play some music in my car while it's off, and not have to push it down the nearest hill to get it going. How much more efficient is the yellow top? And do I really have to change my alternator?

    paranoia!

You are so right! That happens to me all the time also! It doesn't matter where I park, some twat allways park about three inches away from me.
  17. I'd choose a different design also. If you're handy with filler and fiber, you could make some on your own. Originals are cooler every time I look at them.
  18. if there are any oil leaks perhaps? It's fun to see the pressure go up as you floor the pedal :) I'd go for volts and oil pressure, anyways. Volts for your stereo, and it's the one thing I'd like to know about my car (so I can see if there are things that steal current and how much my install uses when my car is off and so forth). Obviously, I have no clue. Don't listen to me. After all, I am Norwegian.
  19. no matter how good you are at fitting head units, you'll find out how many swear words you know when installing one to the vw corrado. The back support blocks off all space for wiring, so you can't really get it to sit flush w/o taking out the glove compartment, which gives you better access. But for heaven's sake, get a couple of removal tools from your local store if they weren't supplied with your new player. If you can easily connect your new contacts to the old ones (there should be two big black connectors, called ISO-connectors), then do so, if not, get someone to do it for you (if you can't solder your own contacts, that is).
  20. have you checked all the connections and fuses if they work?
  21. bcstudent, true. I've chosen something else though, so I guess it'll be left as a hobby. Besides, I just wanna be a corrado specific mechanic. I guess you can make a good living out of that though, with all these problems coming in all the time :)

    Non-Electric windows

Mine, a '89 corrado, have a sunroof, but no central locking and electrical windows (as standard that is, now it has some aftermarket kit for the windows, acting up). Air-con cars usually don't have sun roofs.
  23. it sounds like it's out of its groove, or something.
  24. I had the same problems with my g60, except that it only happened every once in a while. I changed mine, and it was a totally different starting experience :)
