Don't you wish, sometimes you should have just left the corrado in the garage looking pretty. Lol Anyway as you may or may have not read I've got my G60 back on the road, and with it has come other annoying problems. Driving around today, if i come on and off the gas pedal in quick presses it feels like there is an unsprung weight moving back and forth. Maybe it's the engine or gearbox that's loose or something. I have had all the engine and gear box mounts replaced already, so not sure what else it could be. It's hard to feel the movement in 1st and 2nd gears, but it's easily felt in 3rd and 4th gears. Can somebody please help, and maybe point me in the right direction.

Well new sender arrived today, and it's still the same. Not happy at all. I've taken the original sender apart thinking I could change its state, but there is not much I can do with it.

Nice one, link saved and book marked.

Do we have a clubstand for this event, or is it just case of turning up?

Anyone got a link to a decent guide? the one I've seen is on VW Vortex which was on about welding pieces in.
-
I've had a look at fitting the 02J setup, and it seems like there is welding involved. So don't think kind of modification is for me. Anyway back the to the sloppy selector, I've taken it apart to see what's what and it all looks okay to me. So I've just regressed everything and fitted it all back, tightened the nut a bit more. This removed all the slackness, but the spring when you push the selector had gone. So slackened it off a bit to get the spring movement back. The slackness has been completely eradicated, so I'm assuming the bolt and nut was just loose. Will try it out on the road when it's stops raining/snowing and will update with my findings.

The picture looks LHD drive one, wonder if its a neuspeed item. As I think they were making these panels as well.
-
Its not clunking or anything to get into gear, its just difficult engaging first at times. So reversing off the drive, I will need to put it into second then first to go forward. Going to do a gearbox fluid change, so will see how it goes before I start taking things apart. Just hope its not the forks or anything like that.

The two panels are 536 858 201 for right hand drive cars and 535 858 201 for left hand drive cars. Post a picture up of the 535 858 203 part number, sounds interesting. P.S. if you have a spare right hand drive panel, please get in touch.

I'm having difficulty getting into first gear sometimes, which makes me think its something like a warn bush somewhere. Or needs some sort of adjustment. Just don't want to start taking things apart again like last year, and end up not using it again. But I do like tinkering LOL.

Do you happen to know how much work is involved in fitting the O2J stuff?
-
Can somebody tell if there is meant to be this much movement in the gear selector. It's the nut and bolt at the bottom, that seems to a lot movement init.

Had My eBay Pill key cut at last, think I still prefer the original VW key for the sheer nostalgia. Open the garage Saturday Morning Cover off Getting engine up to temp, before setting off At the garage

Thanks Dox, Don't think there will be enough room for one of those adapters, its tight in the engine bay as it is. I suspect the VDO sender I have is the Audi on as well, at least I am not the only one to have this issue before. I've found a similar 5bar sender on ebay where the seller has said the WK connection is normally open and will close the contact when the pressure rises which is what I need. Will check it out before fitting, as it will just keep things neater. If there is still on joy, I will return the ebay item and take apart the VDO sender and see if there is anything I can do to it make it change its state.
-
Is there reason you used a set-up like this in the picture, was it because you had the same problems like I had using just the VDO sensor?
-
If you can supply the correct sender, please let me know or even the part number. As this is a second hand unit that I'm using, so not sure what it's come from.

I've fitted the sender on top the oil filter housing like it shows on the VW diagrams. I think the wiring is fine, as If I leave the yellow wire which is for the buzzer disconnected it will sound as soon as the revs go over 2k. If I short the yellow wire to ground all is well, which is what I have done for now so it's not annoying. I will take the sender off and report back the findings, don't think I saw any part numbers on it.

The Saturday just gone, was the first time I have driven my car since fitting the oil pressure gauge. The VDO sender I have fitted, has two connections one for the gauge and one for the warning. When I drive the car and go over 2k rpm the warning buzzer and led come on. Checked the VDO sender and it seems the connection for the warning is a normally closed. So when the the oil pressure builds the contact breaks causing the buzzer to go off. Are there different type of senders available that are normaly open, so when the pressure builds it closes instead? I could put a relay in, but would prefer not to.

So started on the drive to the petrol station on the Saturday, this is the first time I have driven the car since fitting the oil pressure gauges. Turn the first corner, and start to gather speed, and the oil pressure buzzer and light starts flashing. Quickly pull over and switch the engine off but can't see anything obvious. Re start the car, and a few yards up the road same thing. So think it must be a faulty sender, as the oil pressure looks okay on the gauge. Continue to the petrol stations and fill up, go for a little drive with buzzer going off which is ****ing me off no end. It did put a smile back on my face, even with the buzzer was going off. Get to the garage and car goes in for its test, it passed with no issues. So all was good. Anyway did a few checks when I got home, and it seems the VDO sender I have is normaly closed. So when the pressure is correct the contact breaks causing the buzzer and light to come on. Are there different type do the senders? Also discovered that my rear fog lights weren't working, probaly just a blown bulb I'm hoping.

Okay think I got a bit giddy about the MOT date [emoji14]. The MOT is this Saturday, plan is to get up early tomorrow, and do some pre start checks. Remove the fuel pump fuse Remove spark plugs, and disconnect coil pack. Crank engine to get the oil pressure up. Refit everything and start her Get everything up to temp, then drive to the petrol station and fill her up. Go for an early sprited drive, to get the dust off, then to the garage for the Test. To say I'm looking forward to drive the Corrado, would be an understatement [emoji2][emoji2]

Just spray the electrical contact cleaner you've got behind the steering wheel, before you go and start removing. If you do take the steering wheel off just use any normal grease you have. You will only need a little amount, you could even use some Vaseline or a similar product you might have as lubricant.

Still waiting with anticipation

The cutout on the gas pedal is normal, I aslo fitted a rubber on this pedal. As it looks ugly without, think the one I bought was off a MK1 golf. They sell them on eBay or vw heritage 171721647

Let me just clarify about the lambda sensor, 2 wires are connected with the car loom and 2 wires are connected with butt connectors. The reason for this is I think is, the connections have broken on the car plug . The Black wire that's not connected is on the car loom, but not sure where it's meant to go. As the plug from the lamda has all its 4 wires connected, it's hopefully wired properly. Will have look at the wiring diagram and see what's what.

I think you'll be fine, as long as you're not going to get the car to full temperature. It's only there to help with the cooling once the engine has been switched of, to prevent any hotspots.
