1. The difference in a enthusiasts making or sourcing parts, is there time and skill is usually given for free. Where as a company will try and cover all cost in the part, so its not profitable all the time for a company.
2. What an awesome looking garage and i assume mechanic

5. Anyone local'ish got a drivers seat any condition, that I could borrow for about a week. Or anyone selling a really cheap one, condition and colour is not important. Its just so that I can remove my drivers seat, to get the bolster repaired.
6. Remember the wires took off your battery they were for the amp, with melted fuse holders. So them wires should be all dead. But like MZPog says, it's best to remove all that crap if your not going to be running an amp.
7. Couldn't you just loosen the nut, when the wheel is on the ground?
8. Others have said that about the Redline stuff, Cant say I'm noticing this with Valvoline stuff I've put in. When I put redline in my VR before, didn't really feel any difference at all to tell you the truth.
9. So this weekend I finally did the gearbox oil change that I've been meaning to do since I got it back on the road. Before the oil change I was getting a bit of a clunk when pressing in the clutch pedal. Getting 1st and reverse gears were slightly difficult and the gear changes were not really smooth. Which I just put down to been an old car and the characteristics of the car. Well after the oil change I'm really quite amazed how everything has become super smooth, gear changes are all nice and slick. If you're reading this and you're not sure when your gearbox oil was last changed, change it now. Old oil looked very dark Drain and refill plugs cleaned Used this oil,,to flush it out and will do another change in a few months time for some Redline stuff. 10. Cool, let me know what time if you are.
11. That's what I'm thinking, will be nice to see some other classics as well.
12. You can buy the genuine goal post trim and top price from VW heritage
13. All G60's are early interior, but the exterior can be or early or late from the factory.
14. Anyone going to Drive it Day, it's in Sheffield Mike and Edd are going to be there. https://www.facebook.com/MrWheelerDealer?fref=photo
15. Looks like they've got themselves a VR, https://www.facebook.com/MrWheelerDealer?fref=photo The VR vs G60 in the comments is a funny read
16. Well done, for fixing it. Post picture up the faulty transistor, as it might help others with the same problem.
17. Nice job Wayne I've got a machine polisher at home, so if you buy the bits for the headlights. We can polish your lenses up, and save your elbow grease, [emoji6]
18. I think you might be right. I'm going to see the guys at Dubforce in Leeds, as they reckon it's the thrust bearing. So have suggested I have the clutch changed at the same time. Which I don't think is a bad idea, as it will be nice to have a new clutch fitted. Not sure what the cost will be just yet, anyone have rough price as a guide.
19. So after work today, thought I would give the car a service. But I'm sure my car hates me at times. Just the simplest job turn into a battle. First I'm struggling to get the old oil filter off, but managed to get it off in the end. Even though it did get squashed a bit. Next one was the rotor arm, a simple arm that should just pull off. But does it want to come off with out a fight!! Had to get to spanners on to it, so that I could pull it off. Ended up cracking slightly, but at least it's off. Dizzy cap looked well past it Anyway moan over, and at least it's serviced.
20. Worry about the correct mileage later :-) Lets try and get to the bottom of your spoiler issues.
21. Actually that might not work, as don't know what the circuit is like in the dash board. So check continuity from Dash loom T28/27 --> to the module. If you don't want to drop the fuse box just yet.
22. Will do Chris, but think I'm going to sit on it for awhile and see if anything unfolds. I'm getting the same sort of sound just by pressing the clutch in out with the engine running. Son not not sure if it's all related.
23. Well got the car back from the garage, loads of nice compliments about the car. An hours labour charge lighter But still no joy with the problem. They can't find anything untoward with car.
