Probably most members of this forum have dreamed about doing this sort of thing, but the main problem I see with changing a front wheel drive car to a mid-engined rear wheel drive car is that you then have to somehow convince a FWD chassis to handle correctly with next to no weight over the front wheels, sure you can get adjustable springs/dampers, but I think you would end up with some serious compromises along the way. Just my 2p worth, Mid-engined cars handle well but they are design around the engine!

Ice Grey Violet is lovely :)

I don't know about the 2nd half after the porsche looses the backend and ends up in the barrier, trys to drive off again and his bonnet flips open and folds over his windscreen/roof. The first half was a police car chasing a porsche very calmly. The 2nd half seemed to be a very very calm chase of a golf I think.

Porsche design products are for utter idiots with more cash than brains. Porsche must be laughing there arse off every time someone buys something off of them. And what is so special about porsche design? Every car other than the 911, which is an evolution of a VW beetle chassis, has been unpopular. The engine at the very back is not a great idea or design and it's took them ages to finally work out how to get the car to handle correctly and not kill people. People where jumping up and down when the Audi TT killed/injured a few people and there was a recall. No one ever jumps up and down when porsche produced the turbo charged 911 which must have been brilliant fun up until the point that you died. I've even heard that they tried putting lead in the front bumper to try and sort out the handling, bodge not design That said I actually like the porsche 928 and the 90's 911 not that I have ever driven either but all this porsche kettle s**t makes me want to become a communist :)

Always stumped me how these cars got such good 0-60 times and top speeds with so little torque available. Then it dawned on me one day they must have really close ratio gearboxs made to make the most out of the pathetic high rpm torque. And just found this little snippet [sub:e61e9]"Putting its power to the ground, the Japanese Civic Type R uses a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission with gear ratios tailored to the high-revving nature of the K20A engine. This improves the cars acceleration, and Honda explains that a highly rigid aluminium transmission case (with a baffle plate) helps mitigate oil starvation at high cornering speeds - perfect for track work."[/sub:e61e9] http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/ne ... type-r.htm F1 cars and bikes have a similar setup with high rpm but they weigh next to nothing and do it all a little higher up the rpm range. It's race technology for the road and I think I wouldn't like it, I think you'd get Repetative Strain Injury from changing gear all the time.

"Crap Corrados R Us" part II -Now with new improved Crapness
CTWG60 replied to diamondblack's topic in General Car Chat
 making your headlight look the same size as your fog/indicators is not a good look, the dick! I see that the two of them in the background are discussing how bad the rear bumper looks, the guy on right is saying "oh yeah I see what mean it does look crap" That bonnet vent stinks of p*ss! He's offset it to oneside to make it look like it has a purpose the tit. -

1 Drain oil. 2 Take 1 million bolts out and remove sump 3 using a hammer and an old valve or something similar punch/drift it out from underneath. 4 clean hole and tube end and cover with locktight and knock it back in. 5 let the lock tight go hard before fireing it up after you have refilled with oil obviously

I got a GSF front mount £45ish and it had VW audi logos on it  I like it when that happens!

So if you were to want an LSD for a CTN box what would you need assuming one is available? Just reading through this post and noticed this question. I think the solution would be to use the CBA push fit flanges and do away with the CTN ones. The gearbox casing halves are the same as CBA ones so I guess that should work. Update for anyone thats interested: Done about 3000 miles with this box now gear change is good had no problems what so ever (touch wood). Still happy with the ratios. Had a set of new tyres not long after fitting the box which are now well worn in and can honestly say traction from stand-still and out of corners is better than ever. Enjoying 2nd gear on big wide roaded traffic islands. The thing that impresses me the most though about this later O2A box is the complete lack of torque steer. It's controlled the torque of the engine very well. Anyone else got any feedback or bad points/experiences I know a few of you had bought boxes to fit. :)

Porting matching g-60 head to modified Audi 5000s Turbo inta
CTWG60 replied to corradog60stage4's topic in Engine Bay
Well the stock intake manifold is a big restriction along with sitting right next to the exhaust manifold so I think if reliable this will be a good improvement, I do think you should get a big G60/other intercooler to make the most of your changes though. -
Whats a ball park figure to get an engine bored out?

So what's the plan Dirtytrque? :) Are you dreaming about engine parts yet! -

CTWG60 replied to corradog60stage4's topic in Engine Bay
Do you plan on putting the car on a rolling road when you get it all back together? It'll be very useful to see how the graph looks with this head work. As you know I haven't seen this sort of modification before. :) -
Installation of my Engine and transmisison setup
CTWG60 replied to corradog60stage4's topic in Engine Bay
Great Thanks I can't give you the part no. as ETKA list it as "no longer available" But the engine code that it comes off will be WJ,WS,WK or KJ. Only made 1980-1983 and only used on the audi 200 (5000) turbo cars nothing else!! I've tried some uk audi breakers and UK,US and German ebay with no luck! :(
