I'm with Kev, dump the FTL drive and get with Worm Hole Technology instead...

it's about 20 mins to swap throttle bodies on a G60... Get new gaskets though, as if they leak then you'll get all sorts of weird running problems! ;) There's 2 gaskets, one between the throttle and inlet manifold and one inbetween the butterflies and inlet bit, make sure they're both new. To replace the throttle body: Undo the jubilee on the rubber intake pipe and pull the pipe off Undo the jubilee on the boost return pipe and pull the pipe down and off Remove the hose which goes to the carbon cannister Remove the 2 vacuum hoses from the rear of the throttle body and disconnect the wiring connector. On the cam cover there's 2 support bars, from memory I can't remember if you need to remove one to get the throttle body out or not, but if you do, remove it... ;) Undo the 4 allen headed bolts and lift the throttle body off the inlet manifold. Refitting is the reverse of removal [/haynes]

Any hints and tips for fitting a Golf G60 intercooler?
Henny replied to Tattie's topic in Engine Bay
same thread as the bolt wot held on the black plastic silencer box originally, I think it's an M8, but I couldn't swear to it... take it off, go to a local fasteners shop and get a 90mm long version of the one that's on your car at the moment... job done... 8) -
sounds more like the ISV isn't working properly...

I can measure the one on mine this weekend, but I won't have time until then... :| -
I've stopped for now, so any more I find I'll post up onto the Ebay thread and let you fight it out amongst yourselves...

they're good too (got one in my boot... 8) )

Gsf or ECP. VAG want more for EXACTLY the same things... ;)

I can do a head on a KR 16V in about 3 hours flat from start to running car... 8) That doesn't include the time it takes to get the head checked and skimmed if needed though... ;)

change the radiator fan switch (about £15 and 10 minutes to fit) and the black temp sender (in the plastic flange on the front of the cylider head where the pipe to the top of the radiator goes). That should sort out your first fan speed not working and will also make sure that your gauge is as accurate as they can be (which, to be fair, isn't very accurate at all! )

um you're in the correct section for that kind of thing now... :| This is a common problem with the Corrado Sunroof... You can normally slide a thin screwdriver or steel ruler in to move the runner by hand and get it to close fully. Use the search and you'll find LOTS of stuff on this... in the mean time, I'll lock this up... 8)

never done it, but from what I can see, there's a shed load of rivets and the glass will have to come out the top somehow so I'd guess you have to remove the felt lined channel that the glass slides up in to get it out... :|

How to remove handbrake handle ? (covering button)
Henny replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Interior
Phil K, yes, they're about £25, part number 357 711 320 1BX (bought one last month! ;) ) -
don't mess with it, you'll screw up the ECU -> boost reading settings and generally mess up the running of your car... I'm sure either Beavis or G-Man will be along shortly to say the same as they both posted a similar answer recently in another thread... 8)

Alloy Handbrake Handle? Anyone got one fitted+who does them?
Henny replied to BigTartanJudge's topic in Interior
so I was right about that then? I've yet to find a nice one which does fit the Corrado without modifying the center console due to the narrow slot the handle recesses into when down... :( On a more positive note, the leather standard handle is only £25 from VAG and is still available... ;) -
Gucci, they didn't make a 1.8 8V other than the supercharged G60... ;) Welcome to The Forum, I'm sure you'll find all the info you need to help you buy a good Corrado on here... 8)

erm, when J-DUB died, I ended up putting nearly £4,000 into the engine   Insane? Moi?...... most probably... ;) :silly:
-
on a G60 it makes a difference over standard even if you've done nothing else... 8) It makes for a sharper throttle response although I'd doubt if you'd see any power increase without porting everything else too... ;)

Buy an SNS that's close to your spec, then get it setup properly by someone with a rolling road.... Can't help you with who as you're in Italy and I'm not... ;) With the engine you're running, you're going to have to get a custom map as nothing else will match your setup properly, so you'll have fuelling holes and peaks all over the rev range if you use an "off the shelf" map... ;) Good luck! 8)

'lo Alan... Welcome to The Forum... 8) There's loads of topics on here about rubbish MPG from a G60... If you use the search (use AND between words to make it more specific) you'll find loads of useful stuff about what causes this problem... You may also want to search for "lambda" "blue temp sensor" and "Vacuum pipe" as these are the three main running problems with G60s that make for bad MPG figures... ;) Good luck! 8)

the most expensive place in california cant even fix it
Henny replied to potatonet's topic in Engine Bay
when they put it back on again, make sure they use a bolt off a DX engine code Rabbit GTI... (that's the 1.8 GTI one over there) It's the 6 sided bolt rather than the 12 sided normal one and it's NOT a stretch bolt and so won't shear off which is part of the reason that the woodruff key has gone on your car... ;) Glad you've found the problem though... 8) -

How to remove handbrake handle ? (covering button)

hacksaw? I had to cut one off J-DUB when I first got her as some muppet had broken the tab in the past and then glued the sodding thing on...
