*cough* didn't I tell you that at Inters when you were looking at that roof from Golfnutz?!? ;)
-
or in a G60 it's to enter the corner on 3 wheels and get out of the corner even faster! ;) :D

I'd have thought the lack of a sunroof would kinda show that it wasn't supplied with one! Or if it's got an external frame for the sunroof then it'll be an aftermarket one (the normal one fits flush with the roof and has no visible frame work from the outside... 8) ) Dunno if there's a way of telling from the VIN, but the options list on the sticker in the boot should show the lack of sunroof on there as one of the codes... I have no idea what the code would be though.... Sorry... 8)

Neocorrado, just create a new thread in the members gallery sectionand add some pics to it.... 8) As easy as posting a reply... 8)

93-96 Passat or MKIII golf... The passat one is the better one to go with as the curve of its roof is much closer to that of the Corrado than the Golf's roof... 8)

Buying a well thought out 2 litre G60 engine is VERY difficult... It's actually quite easy to BUILD or buy a 2.0 G60 engine, but not one that retains and builds on the good qualities of the normal G60 engine... It's not quite as simple as just bolting the parts together, there's a certain harmony that has to be kept throughout to make sure it all works together.... For example, the block must have the oil squirters which keep the piston crowns cool, and has to have the extra cooling ways needed to keep a forced induction engine cool... The crank needs to be suitable for a free revving lively engine (like a G60 should be) and not be too long a throw which will make it tiring to drive and sluggish through the revs... Certain companies offer a 2.0 short block for the G60 conversion for very good prices which seem to be well upto the job... until you dig a little deeper and find out that it's actually a van engine with a stroke which is better suited to a diesel than a sports engine! I initially tried to build a 2 litre for my G60, but ended up with a 1940cc unit (comissioned by 16VG60) as this was the best version we could build at the time... The proof is in the recent rolling road session at Stealth on Sunday where Vince said that it was THE best G60 engine he'd ever seen and she gave out 219bhp and 198LbFt torque! 8) Have a good conversation with John (16VG60) about his conversions and ideas and you'll be heading in the right direction to end up with a real strong powerful and fun engine... 8) Have a read through the first few pages of my Members gallery as there's some good, lively discussion in there about my engine plans when I first mentioned that I wanted a 2litre conversion... 8)

Whats the fastest you have ever been in your Corrado?
Henny replied to surfer.vr6's topic in General Car Chat
not really tried too hard yet, but got an indicated 135 on the way to Santa Pod (on the private road on the way in, of course, not the main dual carriageway before it.... ;) ) while playing with the driver of a Merc SL500... For a BIG car, those things shift well... they don't do corners well at all though! ;)  -

Bummer dude... did the RAC man not say anything about the cause?!?

After this weekend's arsing around to get it on the rollers, tha bumper's getting sold and an original one's going back on! ;) :D 8)

this sounds like it may be an after market sunroof to me, deag... :? Any chance of some pics?

Since you asked... ;) I used adaptors to fit Peugeot 205 GTI alloys to my Beetle... 1.6 engine on twin 40 delortos with an engle 110 cam and a nice interior, smoothed body work finished off in Mercedes Barlo red (VERY deep dark ruby-ish red) never finished it 'cos I went to Uni and sold it to some mates who broke it (and my heart with it) and used it for spares... :( But I've also fitted spacers to Beach buggies, a BAJA bug we built and a SERIOUS beetle we built with a 2.1litre engine built around an early semi auto chassis (independent rear suspension and Torsion bar front suspension) running on genuine brand new Porsche Fusch alloys with spacers on 'em to make 'em fit in the wings nicely.... 8) I ALWAYS wanted that beetle 'cos it had no compromises made when the guy was speccing out what he wanted in it... Lovely... 8) Anywho, back on topic, Looks great greegs... 8)

Gman, Eh? in what way does it effect the brakes? You've got me confused with that statement as I've run spacers on all sorts of cars from my Beetle to my current Corrado G60 with no problems... Oh, welcome to the forum though... 8)

looks like an Inka blue car with an Aqua blue door... :| You'd be better off getting the door sprayed professionally with it blended into the front and rear wings so there's no sudden change in colour between the old and new paints... I suppose it depends on how much of the rest of the car is scratched as to if it'd be worth getting a full respray or not... :| Personally, I wouldn't attempt to do any major paint work myself as it's a definate skill I don't have and I'd only end up making it look MUCH worse...

hammer a torx (T8 IIRC) into it, the teeth will grip where the allen bolt has rounded out and should allow you to undo the bolt... That's how the garage'll probably do it... ;) 8) Oh, and Gav? Couldn't remember if the ones I had were 4, 5, and 6mm or 4, 6, and 8 mm, but knew it was the biggest one!
-
yup, standard cam in mine... with a G60 and lots of boost, sticking a wild cam in has this annoying habbit of blowing the boost straight out of the exhaust...
-
no clues as to what's going on with yours yet Supercharged?
-
Cheers Gav, wasn't sure on that one hence asking for confirmation... 8) just know it's the bigger one of my 3 sockets! ;)

I really don't get this whole thing about sticking the fattest widest rims on your Corrado you can squeeze on... it screws the handling up something chronic and increases wear rates on the wheel bearings massively... :| Why buy one of the worlds best handling cars and then screw up the handling by dropping it so low you can't actually drive it anywhere and putting wheels on it which make it difficult to drive anywhere and handle badly?!? That grey one is definately an exercise in form over function... no wipers, no side repeaters, no mirrors and no clearance over the wheels to allow you to turn the car... Love some of the ideas, and they both look stunning, but I prefer cars which are acutally useable....

pics are in the original thread (HERE) 8)

pretty certain it's a 6mm... anyone confirm this? :?
-
see HERE for ignition switch replacement details... Read on through the thread as there's some updates futher along... 8)

apparently it is possible to do it without taking the dash out, but it's a lot easier, safer and less likely to break anything else doing it the old method by taking the dash out.... :|
-
Erm, I've just found out I've got a boost leak from the pipe onto the throttle body... :? Found it as I was replacing the throttle cable tonight... :| Think I'm gonna need a re-run to see what she's putting out without the boost leak after I fit the new pipe I'll order tomorrow... :D  Oh, and the answer to No.1 was Vince from Stealth... :? 8)

oops, sorry! It's a type of induction air filter which you tend to stick through the carbon cannister hole so that it can't draw hot air in from the engine... 8)
