  1. OK, I've moved this to the Members gallery, and here's the pics... 8)
  2. until they go soggy and let all of the coolant out... Sorry, not a fan of 'em... Jubilee clips for me too, every time... 8)
  3. saw this last night at Summer nights.... 8) VERY cool! Mind if I post some pics in here doublezero?
  4. You been having fun in the wet in your G60 then Jim?!? ;) I'd definately say to go with the 1.8 16V too.... LOADS of spare bits for the engines available cheaply 'cos the same engine was used in the golf, passat, scirocco, corrado etc etc etc... ;) 8) They ain't exactly slow either (no matter what people with G60s or VR6s make out! ;) )
  5. the worst that can happen is that you need to take the head off if the reverse tap snaps in the plug.... so you've nothing to loose by trying that method.... ;) If the tap does break and you take the head off, you'll be able to get at it from the inside of the head so there'll be plenty there to get at it with... 8)
  6. They're not based in the UK so the rules don't apply to them.. ;) :D
  7. yup, they're EZ-outs... 8) Has the bit of the plug you got out got the central electrode in it still? The reason I ask is that if it has, you'll have a clear path through the center of the thread into the cylinder and an EZ-out (or similar) will almost certainly get it out if used correctly with no swarf being made to contaminate things... The only bit I don't know is how deep the plugs are in a VR having never worked on one, and this could hamper things if it's too deep to get an EZ-out in... :| Good luck anyway, sounds like you deserve some... ;) 8)
  8. I'm with Phat on this one... I think it's just the design of 'em that makes 'em look smaller so they just don't look big enough to suit a Corrado... :?
  9. and I'll third it... And I'll also add that it may well be worth getting someone else to have a look at your charger while the car's off the road... I took Darren (G-Man) up on his offer to inspect my charger even though it'd only been Jabba'd 8 months before the car rebuild started... All I'll say is that I'm soooooo glad I did take him up on the offer! ;)
  10. they are just held on by a screw headed bolt (m6 IIRC) The only place I can think of getting 'em from is a dealer... have a look at the metal bit they attach to and you may find that the screw is still in there as the handles are known to snap off with careless owners/passenger not being careful with their feet...
  11. Ah, so that's why they look the same then!  8)
  12. So, another weekend, another show (two actually) but this time with a sprint track thrown in! :D 8) Saturday, Curborough... FANTASTIC fun, and I got some videos of J-DUB doing her thang! :D Right click and save as for a video watching me go around the track OR Right click and save as for a video going around the track inside the car! (ignore the funny rattling noise, it's the gaffa tape that held the tripod onto the headrest making the noise! ) Then there was the "Summer Nights 2" meeting in York tonight... 8) LOADS of cars, and lots of people...
  13. Glad you've fixed it... I'll lock this up now... 8)
  14. ...and for those that are interested, there's a video I made from the passenger seat as Andy did a lap... Sorry it's a bit shakey, he wasn't exactly hanging around! ;) 8) (31.65 seconds with me in the car too!) Right click and save as HERE
  15. I've gone the other way around... with no shims the center sits about 1mm higher and the corners sit about 1.5mm lower than the roof line.... The rear sits flush... To be honest, you'd need to look carefully to notice it, and the old seal on my metal roof was a worse fit than this roof!
  16. the corner is a hair pin dinkus, there was no apex, just getting around it was a neat enough trick! ;) :? I've just checked my front bumper for any damage underneith on that corner... It HAS made contact on one of the laps... I'm now REALLY glad I bought a plastic bumper and not a fibreglass one as there would be nothing left of it if I had!  Think I'm gonna have to get a set of Titanium skids made by my mate to mount under the bumper! ;) 8)
  17. is it me, or are these just a clone of the Revolution 5 spoke design?!? :| Don't get me wrong, I really like 'em and think they look great on that car... but every time I see 'em I think "Ah! a set of Revolutions!"
  18. Yup, the 1H block is a Rallye engine... It's also slightly smaller capacity (1763cc instead of 1781cc for the normal Corrado G60 engine) due to the Rally rules the car had to comply with... There's no power difference in it though, and it's actually a stronger block than the PG engine.... 8) That number doesn't look like a Jabba number (they engrave their name and the date on eny parts they can when they rebuild the chargers! :| ) but there are a few other companies that it may have been done by... If there's any question on the service history of the charger, get it booked in for a check over and possible rebuild... it's not worth thinking about what could happen if you don't... :( Oh, and welcome to the forum! 8)
  19. fishing wire (or garden wire)... Use it like a wire saw and pull it along under the number plate pullling the wire up and down as you go.... 8) Also works on stuck on badges... ;)
  20. there ain't no spoiler there, that's part of the bumper! :?
  21. let's put it this way... I didn't get ANY oversteer yesterday and you can see how hard I was pushing it into this corner! ;) 8)
  22. I tend to run with 32 up front and about 26 in the rears... That's where my car feels at it's most stable and predictable to me... I found that having the pressures up where the sticker says made her too light and slightly unpredictable...
  23. Great to meet up with you all... and even better to get J-DUB out onto a track! :D The vids I have are HERE 8)
  24. With the size of the bush, I doubt you'd get 'em to warm up much.... the passive rear steering effect is actually pretty gradual as long as the bushes are in good condition... it's only when they're badly warn or nearly collapsed that you'll start getting weird handling from a Corrado... 8) Personally, I'd say that this oversteer Louie Lungbubble mentioned is cos of crap tyres and bad tyre pressures... I'm rolling on 205 45 16 Yokohama A539s and they're good... I've not pushed the car VERY hard yet as I'm still getting used to her and don't really want to bend her having just rebuilt her, but I've no complaints with the tyres at all... 8)
