Might of been me, I did drive through chorlton on thur night, did you mean RED K plate? Mine has got 16" BBS tho, but it does have a very loud exhaust roar at the moment! Yup red...  that's gotta be one of my few typos on here... Could well have been you then... 8) It's a lovely noise it makes as you boot it away from the lights (you were turning right at the microwave shop towards the center) I wouldn't have called it a loud exhaust note, but definately meaningful! 8) Cool! looks like I spotted ya then! 8)

Probably just need tensioning up properly if it's that new... 8)

Plonk a new thread in the wanted section... Someone may have a set they want rid of... 8) Make sure you specify LHD or RHD though!

dubprince If you wire 'em onto the wires for your LEDs, they'll be heating all the time that the LEDs were on before and will burn out PDQ... If you're gonna re-fit 'em, do it as was intended at the factory... Find where the wire's been removed (should come up the passenger side hinge IIRC) and reconnect it there... 8)

You ain't kidding about the heavy bit! Our poor receptionist nearly put her back out trying to shift them, not realising what they were when they arrived this morning! :? Look cool though, and should make my beasty stop pretty well... 8)

I'm a Broadcast Engineer... I'm running Silver audio cable with gold connectors! (got 'em cheap.... Back of a lorry styleeee...  )

Darren, what sort of brakes have you got behind them? Does anybody know if the wheels will clear the brembo's from an ibiza cupra R? Thanks I doubt that 16" Borbet As will clear the Brembo conversion... I've got 7.5x16 Borbet Cs and they only clear with the use of a small spacer... even then it's tight... the extra curve IN of the end of the A's spokes may well catch on the calipers in the conversion... :? My conversion turned up from Badger5 this morning, so I've almost got ALL of the parts I need to rebuild the car now! 8)

IIRC the original component system doesn't have a crossover as such, instead it had a capacitor on the back of the tweater to knock off the low range and the door speaker just wasn't sensitive enough to need an inductor to knock off the treble! :? I've now got a set of JBL components in the front with a pair of passive crossovers lobbed into the holes below the tweaters... 8) It sounds a million times better! :D

I'd have said leaky sunroof is likely to be the cause... :? If it was like that when you got the car and it's dry at the moment, then it could have been a problem before you got the car which has been sorted, hence the plastic trim which won't stayed clipped in place due to uncareful removal... :?

If it squeeks, it probably means that your drive belt for the P/S pump needs replaceing... If it's squeeking, it's slipping (that's what makes the noise!) so the pump isn't spinning properly which means that the power assistance is reduced making the steering heavier... This will be especially noticable at slow speeds or when the car is stationary as the P/S has to work harder to move the wheels due to the friction of the tyre on the ground... Change the belt and re-tension it, and while you're doing that, see if you can see where the leak is... 8)

I've just bought a Nokia CK-1W hands free Bluetooth kit for my 'rado... It's to go with my new Panasonic X70 phone... 8) I'm hoping it'll work, but seeing as how my 'rado is in bits, I can't test it much at the moment! :? I've built it all into the center console of the dashboard... See what you think below.... 8) (excuse the CD cases, they're there to hold the console up level!  )

YAY! a post that makes me want to post and say "HOORAY! a voice of reason!" 8) Quit moaning on about the past, get involved and turn the club into what YOU want it to be! That's the whole point of car clubs, you get out what you put in, sometime slightly more in either direction, but in general it's rewarding for your time and effort.... 8) Ker-plink (my 2p worth!)

Or a service at a $#!{ garage that topped up the G11 with G12 (not G12+) as this causes all sorts of jelly type slime to develop in your coolant system causing blockages all over the place... Not good... :? jmuggali I agree with Steve, flush the system as much as possible until you are SURE that there's no crud left in there, then, as steve says, fill with G12+ and water... 8)

Humm, where's my barge pole so I can wave it in the opposite direction?!?  DODGY wouldn't quite be enough to cover that (IMHO  )

http://www.trimsport.co.uk ? Could be the one you were thinking about.... 8)

Look up! There's one there... (ka`!) There are a few others as well... 8)

:pukeright: :pukeleft: Just my opinion...

...and no wipers... :?

I don't think it's a garage, it's at an indoor show! Yeah, I think it's a turbo as well... Front mount intercooler (hence meshed number plate recess) and nice big inlet pipe gives it away... 8) Very nice looking car...

I would too if I could afford 'em! In short, why not?!?

Ah, ok... It's a big T shaped lever thing... Description was spot on!   8) HUMMM, I wonder how much they are then.... I can see an Xmas prezzy being added onto my shopping list!  *EDIT* just looked on Demon Tweeks' web page... £210.37 for the "big T shaped lever" corner weighting kit... :? The digital system that they used for my set up costs £2K + I won't be buying one of them then!
-
Yup... unless you know a real "specialist" who can achieve similar set-ups with spacers and spring "tweaks" that I wouldn't reccommend!  It isn't neccesarily the same amount of weight on each wheel, I think mine's set to 55/45 % front to back with me in the car... 50/50 is perfect for a rear wheel drive car, but the jury is still out as to what is the perfect setting for a front wheel drive... :? What is important, though, is 50/50 weight distribution side to side with the driver in the car... That makes a hell of a difference when it's right... 8) VR6? what's the big T shaped lever?!? Sounds scarey! The guys that did mine have 4 identical, calibrated, sets of heavy duty electronic scales that they put under each wheel at the same time so you can see the difference between each wheel's load at once. These are on a 4post ramp so that the car can be lifted while still on the scales and access to the coil-overs can be had to set the levels to give the best weight distribution without having to lift the car off it's wheels thus causing it to need to settle again... It's a time consuming process, so it doesn't tend to be cheap, but it's soooooo worth it! 8) The only places I know that do it tend to be rally schools or race-prep garages... I'm lucky 'cos I live about 10 doors down from a race-prep place who agreed to do mine 'cos they keep seeing it about and know I look after it and know what I'm on about... (most of the time!   )
